After reading the reviews we were hesitant to try but our hotel is directly behind and didn't want to go out for lunch so decided to give it a try! The Fort did NOT DISAPPOINT! We had wings and French dip and both dishes were made to perfection! Waitress was very attentive even though she was doing both bar tending and waitressing for the lunch hour

This place was fun! We broke down on our trip and ended up spending time here in the afternoon. I'll tell you the afternoon bartender, Ashley, was perfect! Nice person, fun personality! We played some pool, ate good food, and had a few drinks. Actually everyone who works there was nice. The bar reminded me of the bar in the Coyote Ugly movie. (Similar look and atmosphere.) I wish this bar was in our area cuz I'd go there for fun!

It was good. We wanted the ribs but they didn't have it so tried out the New York strip and wife had the chicken Alfredo. Our kids enjoyed their food. The service was nice. The atmosphere was great had some interesting displays. In all we enjoyed it.

    Cuban Sandwich

One of the best Cuban sandwiches I ever had. This place is amazing. Drank the local brew Pseudosue pale ale.

It's been a long while since we were here. The waitress was very friendly and brought our beers quickly. The food, well 4 of us and it was ok. Need atmosphere and location.

This place is closed. The building is already torn down. Just trying to warn people so they don't waste time looking for it.

The room was noticeably hotter than the rest of the restaurant. Service was a touch slow as they only assigned one server to our group. Which was weird. We had to serve our own win a few times. One salad showed up notably later than everyone else's appetizers. I had the French onion soup which is not salty (a common issue with many Steakhouse French onion soups). However, I was a little disappointed that the cheese was not melted as a complete lid on top of the soup but instead was floating in the soup. That makes a big difference. Also had the bone in ribeye as I usually do. It was cooked perfectly inside however it lacked the char that they were able to accomplish in previous times. I've been here. The fully loaded baked potato was nice and delicious. Also had party style appetizers, which included a cheese, charcuterie, board, stuffed mushroom caps, and shrimp that was seasoned with old Bay seasoning. The shrimp was interesting, and the individual pieces were very large. The mushroom caps were not bad and also large.

Ordered drinks right when we sat at the table and they came back several minutes later to tell us that they were out of one of the ingredients. Placed our food order while we reordered new drinks and had to wait awhile. Our salads made it out before the drinks. We ordered the Chop House Burger with blue cheese crumbles and fries. Menu indicated that it came with a side of rodeo sauce and had to request it when it wasn't on the plate. I love blue cheese but this had a little too much and made the burger too salty. It was cooked perfectly but would have better with a different cheese or less blue. We also ordered the Famous Filet (6 oz). It was delivered to the table sizzling on a hot plate so I know it just came out of the oven. The waiter asked me to cut into the steak to make sure it was cooked to my liking before they walked away. I would have preferred to wait a couple minutes on the table to let it cook a little more. Delicious! Cooked exactly as requested and very tender.

But clearly, without being anchored in the Hilton, this place would probably be out of business. I really liked the waitress/bartender, but it was clear how exacerbated she was with conditions. I looked at the menu first online and when I arrived, she apologized and said those were out of date. Fine. One diner and one at the bar, I sat at a table. The chair I sat in was really wobbly, so I switched to another as I didn't feel safe given my 6'3" frame. Not much better. So I moved over to the table with a bench. The bench didn't have any functional cushioning, but at least it was stable. When she delivered my beverage, I explained why I moved and she apologized as she knew and that they have been waiting for "their remodel." Later, I heard the waitress apologize to a couple because they didn't have any salt, but they did have pepper! They were taking the food back to their room, so she offered some ideas of where they could find salt. The chicken Cobb salad on Google had a real fried chicken breast, but what they are actually serving is a sliced giant chicken nugget product. They rest was great (salad not wilted or slimy, good toppings) and I liked the blue cheese dressing. So, 3 stars on the overall experience.

They've also changed their menu quite a few times since inception. First off it's a beautiful restaurant with a nice large parking lot and you'll be seated by a hostess on either the dining room side or the large bar/dining area on the other half of the restaurant. There's many large comfortable booths to sit in unless you want a table which there's plenty of too. Also high top tables for 4/6/8 available on the bar side or you can just sit at the very large bar that's three sided with 60 seats. The bar side is full of TVs. And generally has music videos as well as sports on. After getting seated by your hostess, expect you will get a great experience from your server as they take pride in training their staff very well here and I've never had a bad experience with a server in probably 20/25 visits here. The menu is a little all over the place now there are some interesting and tasty appetizers. The cheese logs and the fried green tomatoes seem to be most people's favorite appetizers. The chicken wings are pretty good though there are limited flavors available. They do an amazing happy hour menu with great appetizer deals as well as good drink deals if you have the opportunity to stop in during this time of day. I think where they shine is with their burgers. I've had some very delicious burgers there. I've also had good Italian type food with their rigatoni , manicotti and their Stromboli's. Their pizza used to be really excellent. And now it's a little hit and miss depending on which type you get. They have their own woodfired pizza Grill, which has the potential to make amazing crust. However, they tend to get ratios of cheese and meats a little off sometimes. The bison chili and the duck gumbo are both pretty good. It's not traditional Cajun gumbo but it's still a pretty delicious soup. I've had a few bad soups here, including the beer cheese and some of the other cheese soups, which were not completely cooked down and were gritty with flour base still noticeable. The fried fish is also a stand out dish that they do. And a lot of people really like their steaks and steak salad. Overall, this is a great place to bring your family or a large group of friends or even a elegant birthday party. You know you'll get taken really good care of and other than it's more on the expensive side you know exactly what you're gonna get every time highly recommended and if you're getting a cocktail, I recommend the huckleberry Mojito. Recommended.
