Well, as of Thanksgiving 2025 they toured on the entire building and now it's an empty parking lot. The food was always pretty awful. The staff was always rude and sometimes drunk. The owner was really nice, but I never once saw him there. That is a huge pool table room, which they demolished as well. The building should've been kept as a museum because it was the most fun maze that you could possibly wander your way through all the multiple levels of similar to Casa Bonita in Denver. Their featured drink tasted like an alcoholic grandmother mixed whatever she had available. The sauces were awful. Their fried mushrooms, which are difficult to mess up, were terrible. The Mac and cheese bites were worse than a set of Burger Kings's found outside of a garbage dumpster. The best part of the menu is their water. Dennys is better. Golden Corral. Anything. We loved this quirky place! So many rooms- so much to see! I had the Caesar salad and Red chili. Both delicious! My husband had the Chicken Caesar salad. The chicken was done perfectly. The staff were super friendly and informative. They all seemed to enjoy each other and working here. If we were locals this would be our go to place! This was exactly what we were looking for on a cold, damp Sunday night in Casper. Wanda our waitress was on point and gave great suggestions for dinner and drinks (happy hour always a plus) I ordered a porterhouse chop, and wife got hamburger steak covered with gravy. In no particular order. The oil they use to fry onion rings and tater tots must be really old, because everyone could taste burnt oil. We ordered the chicken fried steak, and they brought a steak claiming they don't have chicken fried steak. Well morons you are supposed to make it. Ordered a green chili and red chili, and they claimed they are out of red chili. Then seconds later a red chili arrived. Same bs with a Caesar Salad; they just brought something else. They claimed to be super busy but it sure didn't look or sound busy. With all the horrible service it is amazing how ridiculous the prices are. McDonald's next door would have been worlds better. This place was fun! We broke down on our trip and ended up spending time here in the afternoon. I'll tell you the afternoon bartender, Ashley, was perfect! Nice person, fun personality! We played some pool, ate good food, and had a few drinks. Actually everyone who works there was nice. The bar reminded me of the bar in the Coyote Ugly movie. (Similar look and atmosphere.) We got to Casper in a thunderstorm and this restaurant was in the parking lot of our motel. We weren't too choosy, just hungry. But we read several reviews about poor service here and chose one a block further away. Well! The clouds opened up and we decided we'd take chance on the service at the Fort rather than walk that other block. We're so glad we did. We were seated promptly and pleasantly. Our server Matt was prompt, efficient, helpful and entertaining. My husband chose their stroganoff so he told us that would take a bit as they made it from scratch. I had the chicken chimi. Matt told me their green chili was great, just mild. He had them chop up a jalapeño on it and it was yummy. I don't always do reviews but felt I had to let travelers know this place is not only a safe choice with excellent service but the food was definitely above expectations. read more

I ordered take out so my review is based purely on the food. I ordered the oregon trail pot roast quesadilla and it was delicious! The flavors worked really well together. Even though it seem kinda pricey initially, it was such a huge portion that it was enough for two meals, so it was worth it in the end. The quesadilla also came with some tortilla chips which were just like any other tortilla chips and green chilli which was really yummy. There is a lot on the menu so I am curious to try some of the other items and I hope they're just as good. read more

I was concerned due to the extreme reviews, but I have to say the experience was excellent. I had never tried Rocky Mountain Oysters before but they were delicious. Portions are huge here, but as long as you know that you'll be fine. Our server Matt was quirky but delightful; excellent sense of humor and had us laughing throughout service. He still has some more to grow in terms of being a waiter, but a genuinely nice guy. There wasn't a lot of staff, so I recommend going when it's not too crowded as I saw reviews about that. When I went there was plenty of people at the bar but not at tables like me. The menu was quite large. I think it could have been condensed down a bit more. The naming of the menu items was witty and pretty funny. Overall the theme, decor, and atmosphere was the best part by far. The Western feel is top notch. So don't listen to one star reviews if you're thinking about coming here. read more

This was the closest option near the motel I was staying at. The outside is kind of cool, sort of western looking. As I walked in there was a lot of chatter and music coming from the bar area. I thought if I was seated in the restaurant the noise and loud music would fade a bit. It didn't and they actually turned the music up to an obnoxious level after I was served my food. I ordered the pot roast quesadilla with chips and green chili. The green chili is spot on, some of the best I have ever had. The pot roast quesadilla has a generous portion of meat with melted cheese and just a touch of bbq sauce. It sounds funky but it was so good. The service was good I was seated quickly and checked on often. It is a shame that such good food comes with such unpleasant and noisy ambience. The bar is too close to where you eat and a level up is a pool table that you hear clearly. I loved the food but I won't be back because of the excessive noise. read more

Next, I waited five minutes for the waitress to even stop and ask what I wanted to drink, but by then I had already made my dinner selection. It started bad, and by bad I mean we waited at the front to be seated and saw zero employees. After 10 minutes I called the restaurant from my cellphone. No answer, although I could have answered it myself as there was a cordless phone at the hostess station. Finally a young girl came out of the back on her cellphone and seated us. The good. Our waitress Misty (I believe) was excellent. One of the better ones Ive had in Casper. She was super attentive and friendly. The food was decent, I had ribs and the wife had filet mignon. Nothing to complain about, just didn't set it apart from anywhere else. The main reason I will go back is the waitress. Ordered takeout steak salads. I wish the steak could be cooked to temperature because I don't care for well done steak but it was very tender anyway and VERY tasty. The location is also worth mentioning as it is surrounded by many hotels/motels so you don't need to order food through price-gouging delivery apps. If you're in the area, The Fort is a must-visit! The bar-goers didn't seem to be our type of people as they stared at us both as we walked in and left, but we didn't mind! We started with the "Rocky Mountain Oysters" as a first time experience and it was not bad! Crispy + cocktail sauce was good. After, three of us got the "Redneck Reggiano" which was a tomato sauce pasta nicely seasoned and tossed with garlic and sausage. Simple dish, but was very good. Our other friend got a half rack of ribs based off of the server's recommendation and IT WAS AMAZING! Truly melt-in-your-mouth and cooked beautifully. Also came well seasoned with good amount of sides. I'm not in the area often but if I was, I'd come back just to visit our server again who also speaks highly of Fort Saloon's burgers! One of the worst meals I've had in Casper so far! Do not waste your time with this food. Atmosphere and drinks is cool but food is trash! I had the open face prime rib sandwich and it was over cooked horribly and I couldn't taste anything but liquid smoke. We were also 2 of 3 people and our food took awhile. Is really wanted a steak and they had prime rib for 35 dollars waiter said it was the best in wyoming. It was basically not edible. The flavoring was funky and the horseradish sauce was basically straight horseradish and added to some sour cream. Cease salad was the best thing I ate and the baked potato was decent. Service was ok . the waiter stared talking to some customers near my table about that were first fighters about his uncle having to hise a kid off a fence . so with that visual I about puked . not my favorite place. Great food and atmosphere, hard seating. If you don't need cushion for your tush, I highly recommend. Every seat is hard wood, even the booths. Also, at 5'5", my get can barely touch the floor - and the seat is so deep I cd t sit back with out the bench cutting off circulation at my knees. -- but that's it for criticism. Place is clean. Comfortable music (country, mostly - at least at my visit). Burger was cooked perfectly. Grilled onions on top were fresh - not the pre-grilled re-warmed stuff some places slap on top. Fruit was perfectly fresh. Plates, and glasses and flatware were spotless (tho flatware is thin and cheap and doesn't fit well in-hand). Restaurant was clean and smelled nice. somehow I am back in Wyoming again with a five hour car ride ahead of me tomorrow but we had dinner at this location and it was not bad. I think they were understaffed the time I went but the staff were all really nice. The prime rib had an extra grill mark on it but it was still pretty soft. The prime rib quesadilla was a bit salty but the chips and the dip that came with it was really good. The chicken Parmesan had a surprising amount of garlic bread next to it but I'm not mad. read more

The Ribeye steak was small and under seasoned for the price. The kids' burgers left the kids still really hungry after eating. The salad was soggy with cold chicken and wet salad. I tried to think of nice things to say, and the servers tried to be friendly, but they didn't seem to present when serving and got a few things wrong.
