Excellent ambiance but poorly prepared food and response from the restaurant. 2 appetizers were good, especially the muscles, however 2 out of the 3 meals were overcooked and lack luster. The Crispy Chicken Thighs were good but even though it is $23 meal, there was a $3.50 surcharge to accommodate for the gluten free option of a small side salad to replace the side orzo. Of the 2 poorly cooked meals, the medium rare burger had to be sent back as it was so well done. And while a new burger was sent (the first was untouched) we were surprised that a manager didn't come by or respond in anyway, especially had a restaurant in this category. I actually left slightly hungry. To be fair, they did seem understaffed, however, that doesn't explain the lack of effort to remedy the situation, especially when we spoke to the manager after we paid. read more

This place has one of the best Mac and Cheese (sounds like a diner reference, but it fits right in with some do the best). I had the 14 NY strip Oscar, AWESOME! The food is absolutely phenomenal and the service is outstanding!! We have been there twice and Alexis is always super friendly as well as accommodating. We dined here after a great day on the slopes. Nice overall vibe and great service but the kitchen had a hard time nailing the ambitious menu. 12/27/17 - Very happy with our meal. I had a ribeye that was an 8. my two teens each had a ny strip and a filet rating about the same. Each Came with mashed potatoes that were an 8. We added asparagus, and mac and cheese sides that were both 10's. Good selection of craft beers and wine. Our waiter was a 10, a real pro. Live Acoustic guitar and several TV's. From someone coming from the Restraunt industry we traveled 3 1/2 hours on a business trip after another early morning business trip that am! We had an issue with lodging and this place was our walk through advice through it all!!! What an amazing front of the house manager/hostess Alex was! She helped in every way possible! Upon arrival Will was a gem! He literally made us feel at home as we were far away from our "home" Restraunt! Once he found out we were the ones with lodging issues he engaged in great conversation with us! Alex explained everything they accommodate at the Restraunt even before knowing we were in the industry! The food was amazing and fast! The meatballs were delicious! The chopped salad that Will had his kitchen so nicely split in two for sharing! And the NY strip was melt in your mouth! We struggled with asking about dessert as I knew they were getting ready to close and he had not one issue with this! The s'mores blew us out of the world! We wish we had something as cool at our Restraunt! We commend the staff here and as it sounds they have nothing more than an amazing owner to lead them in the right direction! Loved our experience here! Get the crab stuffed pretzel! Absolutely beautiful view of the mountains and relaxing ambience at sunset, especially if you sit outside (we came here in July). We came here after we found out our beloved Outback Pizza was closed. Great ambiance in big room with a big (gas) fire, with live music coming from bar area. Very friendly servers, and a sophisticated menu. We ordered half salad portions, which were big ( we could have shared one), super fresh and not overdressed. The bread with maple butter was outstanding! We shared the Arctic char and were delighted with our choice, the fish was delicious and the blood orange citrus sauce with beets was unusual and nicely enhanced the fish. We did not have dessert, the options looked good, although I was stunned to see s'mores on the menu for $14 !! Went tonight with my wife, daughter and friend. While the restaurant has a nice ambiance (outdoor seating next to a nice pond with fish, turtles, ducklings, & swans), I was very upset with my daughter's food and later her drinks (cup of water and cup of milk). She just had pasta with marinara, but we were given a side of moldy grated cheese. My wife was horrified and so was the waiter. He quickly got my daughter a new dish which we appreciated. The adult meals were decent (nachos, salad, soup, chicken marsala, shrimp po boy, goose island beer), but at the end of the meal, my wife happened to take the cover off of the kid's cup of water they served to my daughter. Inside the cup lid was what looked like dried soda. So either they spilled soda on the cups or they were re-using old cups. My daughter being only 4 yrs old didn't complain about the water. Then we checked the milk cup and that too had little black specks of dirt. Gross. Dennis, our waiter, did give us good service, but a manager should have come over to apologize. They comp'd us the nachos, but I would have appreciated an apology by the manager much more. If he/she had, I probably wouldn't have posted this review. read more

Good restaurants are hard to find in Killington, but finally I found one worth writing about! My friends and I came in here on a busy Saturday night (MLK weekend) and were quoted 1 hr and 45 minute wait (at 8pm no less). We did not stay, but of course tried our luck again the following night. The down side: we were quoted the same wait time. The up side: we were texted within 15 minutes that our table was ready. After much confusion over the wait time, we sat down to enjoy our cozy dinner in front of the fire place. While it may be pricier than some of the bar food options in the Killington area, it is worth the up-charge. The restaurant is charming and so long as you are seated in the dining area, you won't be bothered by the live music playing in the tavern. We ordered the pan seared duck (slightly overdone, but still tasty), scallop ravioli (great flavors), and brussel sprouts (must try). For dessert, were intrigued by the fried jalapeño cornbread, which tastes exactly how it sounds. The waitstaff (I believe Michael was our waiter) was very attentive and exceptionally helpful. Despite the confusion and long wait times, the Foundry is definitely one of the better restaurants in Killington and worth a return visit. read more

Beautiful place . Good service . Food was very good . They should have more vegetarian options , but what I did have was great . Affordable for a nice dinner . Only down side was the dessert I ordered the bread pudding was cold in the center and very dry, had it taken off my bill. One other thing is cheese plate could use some more choices . The Foundry was very nice inside and offered menu items unlike other Killington restaurants. We sat on the Tavern side which gave us the option of ordering from the regular menu or the Tavern menu. Overall, we were pretty impressed with this place, enough to come back two nights in a row. The restaurant was within walking distance from our hotel and offered live music each night we were there. The service was excellent and friendly. We split the lobster chowder and veggie burger the first night. The chowder had good flavor but was served to us lukewarm (at best) but our server was busy so we didn't want to send it back. The veggie burger was just a big mushy mess - I definitely would not recommend. The next night my friend ordered the hanger steak and loved it. I wanted to stay away from the veggie burger so I ordered the regular beef "foundry" burger instead. It was okay but not worth $22. It came with "crispy pork belly" that was not crispy at all, just flabby soft slabs of fat plopped on top of the burger - I picked them both off. Overall, this place is fun with a great atmosphere and consistently good service. It is a little pricey for what you get and sometimes the food is strangely prepared so just try to order something simple and you should be safe. read more

This is a good example of earning credit from the mistake. The food was great. We have not finished lamb and asked for packing. We waited for a while and found out the waiter cleaned our leftover by mistake. Knowing the situation, they made a whole portion of lamb for us to pack home. People make mistakes and that is common. Kind of disappointed with this experience, we went there for Christmas dinner. They did not take reservations. We had to wait about 30 minutes or so longer than told to be seated. We all ordered the prime rib. It's supposed to be the special on Thursday for $19.95 but for Christmas, they charged us $5 more per plate. The meat had large chunks of fat in it, a quarter of my cut included a bone. It was pretty tough for prime rib and the dull steak knives made it a chore to eat. The atmosphere is nice and the waitress was pleasant. Not worth the money spent though. read more

We usually like the food at this place but was very disappointed recently with the dinner. My children never complain about the food but the last time we went there, their meals were terrible. One child got the usual hamburger and it tasted like rubber. My salad had the potential to be great but there was no taste to the salad dressing very bland.
