The band was decent if you happen to be in the main hall listening and looking at the band. But if you are in the back plying your worth at billiards...that shit sounded terrible. They need to either give up on the monitors in the back room....or mix the drums back in for us to hear. Simple step and would make this a four star establishment. This was our 4th choice for dinner on a Tuesday night in August. First place was closed for a private event, second place closed on Tuesdays, 3rd place too fancy for a 10 year old. So finally after driving past Jax three times we settled on it. And let me tell you there was no settling with the great service and food! We sat outside with views of Killington mountain. When it got cold they fired up the heaters! Being Tuesday, they had Taco Tuesday specials. I had a pulled pork, bbq chicken and fried cauliflower taco. All good but the standout was the cauliflower taco. I wish I ordered 3 of them! Perfect blend of flavors and texture. Paired the tacos with a local blueberry beer that was fantastic. Do not go here. The blonde bartender was rude and got upset when we said we were not getting food and only drinks. They tried clearing the table before we even finished our drinks. Then they made it sound like if they knew we were locals we would have been treated differently. My son overheard them call our group a**holes as we were leaving. Had a really bizarre experience here. Walked in with a group of 16 people, it's 0 degrees outside so we crowded inside but stayed near the door. Door guy walks over with an attitude and physically pushes one of the guys in our party and starts barking at us to stand back, which we all try to do. Turns out it was a waste of time because he denied us entry anyways, saying our party couldn't be accommodated, which was a little weird because the place looked pretty empty. You really don't need to get physical with your cold patrons and give them a massive, uncalled-for attitude. Door guy has a really bizarre chip on his shoulder, maybe he should consider a different job where he doesn't have to physically accost people to get his point across. It's really off-putting that we had to experience this kind of behavior in a small town in Vermont of all places but it's great to know that there are fantastic local alternatives to this establishment. Stopped in for a few beers with friends the weekend of World Cup. Friendly door guy and bartenders. They tried to find the football game we were looking for but no luck so they gave us the Wi-Fi and a plug for the phone so my friend could still watch. Nice selection of beer and the nachos looked good but we had eaten earlier. They had a band playing that were good, not too loud and super fun. Crowd was just starting to pick up after 9pm. We did get some tater tots just to nibble on and they were crispy and salty so perfect in my mind. (Oh and inexpensive) Lastly, they had an HD Big Buck Hu tee machine so total win there. My family and I have come to Killington for a second year in a row now. It may sound crazy but last year I had the grilled cheese sandwich and it was so amazing that we had to come back and order the same thing. I got the grilled cheese with Parmesan fries. I loved the grilled cheese sandwich once again as it was fantastic. The parmesan fries were pretty good but not for me, and came with a pesto sauce. My sister got a grilled cheese with regular fries and my mom had the greek salad (just like last year) and we were all super happy about our food. The food was really salty. We went here after a long day of snowboarding at Killington and I couldn't eat the burrito because it was way too salty. I tried three bites but each time I couldn't handle the saltiness. Also the chips were super salty too the picture I posted shows the amount of salt on the chips. The garlic parm wings were really good and fairly priced. The waitress was kind and took the burrito off of our check. The Garlic across the street is way better. read more

Excellent service handling an issue with the house made fried chips that were literally both soggy and stale. Quickly replaced with a fresh basket of fries as these chips were served on 3 of 4 dishes. Also, chicken sandwich could have been much better. It was both over breaded and fried leaving very little protein on the plate. We should have spoken up on that dish too but felt awkward since we had just addressed the issue with the chips. Not sure what's going on with restaurants on the Killington access road. Visited another establishment a month ago where the food was really questionable. Maybe it's a seasonal thing or perhaps restaurants are really challenged getting good help that cares for the quality of their product. Food and service were great. We ordered off the regular menu and the special. All were delicious! I had a burrito and it was full of flavor. I couldn't finish the huge serving which means I have leftovers (two for the price of one!). There was a musician playing, he was great. All of the staff were very friendly. The bouncer "security" on his power trip was extremely rude- 16 of us came from out of town, understandably a large party however ...on a day where the temperature is -5, we came through the doorway absolutely freezing with our IDs ready and he actually pushed one of our friends and told us we needed to "get out" saying 18 people could not be accommodated. Surely they must not care about how much money they lost out on- however- a bunch of registered nurses on a group trip to Vermont to relax, unwinds, enjoy skiing and beers did not warrant your "security" to put his hands on one of our friends- so Sasha the general manager I would greatly appreciate a call back to rectify this issue. The bartender was so great here! My friends and I came at about 3 pm and it was sort of quiet, and we sat at some comfy couches. The bartender brought us all waters and menus from behind the bar, which I thought was really nice rather than wait for us to go up to the counter. We had some drinks and played the games. There is a pinball machine, a boxing thing, Buck Hunter and a couple of others. It isn't an "arcade" by any means but there are things to do. It looks like it could get fun at night when a band is playing. Everything about Jax was fine, but the great service really put it over the edge! read more

We walked into this dive and asked if there were any tables outside. It was a beautiful summer night and we wanted to enjoy the scenery and have dinner. The "security guard" who was at the door was extremely rude and said there were no tables outside. We said we didn't mind waiting and he became very hostile and said we could not wait even though there weren't any other people waiting and the place wasn't busy at all. He said that's not how they do things here and kept trying to provoke us into arguing back. We chose to just walk away but we will be sure to never return. That is no way to do business! Bad place, so dirty we saw a huge web with a spider on top of the table and cup that they give to clients, drink was bad, my plate was dirty and I asked for another one they gave me another one covered in dust where the web was, they should have checked before they gave it to me. Another perfect Saturday in Killington VT. We come to Killington for the skiing, but stay for the great music scene, food and drink. Joey Leone and his band was at JAX on Saturday nite and he got the place rock'in. We danced the first set and felt real comfortable on the dance floor (not crazy crowded). A friend and I, were coming to Jax tonight to grab a pizza to go. Unfortunately, we were informed by security that we were not allowed in because he watched our actions in the parking lot walking up. After a good day of skiing one should find an opportunity to unwind and grab a drink and a bite. Jax gives you exactly that! We visited the place on two occasions whilst staying in Killington. The first day we stopped by the place wasn't very busy. We sat at the bar and had couple of drinks followed by some yummy quesadillas. On both occasions we were served by the same friendly girl. I must say she is very good at her job! She was quick to refill our water glasses and multitask with other customers orders. Our second visit we went on a Super Bowl night. We arrived early enough to grab a seat at the bar. Our ID's were checked on the door. We watched the game whilst sipping beer and munching on their delicious and huge nachos.
