Stopped for lunch on a Friday. Server was not super attentive and the kitchen got the sandwich specifications wrong. Ricotta board was good and the breakfast hash was nice as well. Water doesn't taste very good so I recommend iced tea.

One star removed for management, sadly. They understaffed on a super busy brunch and the poor servers were sweating. The staff here is SO friendly and hardworking. Our server Cassie was an absolute star! She was essentially the server, bartender, host, and runner! We had the espresso martinis and they were to die for! We had to have another round. Very creamy and delicious. I had the brunch omelette and it was great, but I had a bite of my friends biscuits and gravy and will definitely be getting that next time! So good!! Overall the vibe of this place was awesome. Really cute and clean interior. Nice view of the street!

Breakfast sandwich and lemon ricotta pancakes

My friend and ai had a disappointing experience at The Foundry Rose. I got the breakfast sandwich and it looked like something I could make at home. The sandwich had raw onions which did nothing for the taste, it would have been better if it was caramelized. I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes and it was so dense. I've had lemon ricotta pancakes and they are fluffy and smooth but this was neither. My friend and I were sitting outside and we finished paying and decided to go inside to use the bathroom. The hostess and her kid see us going inside and tell us no, stop, where are you going? I told her we are going to use the bathroom. We were eating outside. The hostess did not apologize for her rudeness and just said okay. The place is small, and the hostess herself literally brought us to our table and she didn't remember. The food was mid and the hostess needs better customer service skills. Plus the outdoor seating could be better, the table was wobbly and the table was iron mesh so you could see that they don't clean because you could see cobwebs through it.

    Eggs and Hash, Hummus Plate

Very slow service, which is surprising given the number of wait staff they had and that the restaurant wasn't even crowded. They had a number of younger workers, probably because of the summer season, but they were all a lot more efficient and diligent than the older lady, who seemed to be doing as little as she could and moving at a glacial speed. We were seated immediately, but it took maybe 10-15 minutes to even get glasses of water let alone our order taken. The wait staff were tending other tables, and when we made eye contact with the older lady saying we were ready to order, she said to give her a minute as she took her time to check on a table outside. Another wait staff eventually was able to give us water and take our order. The food also came out slowly. We ordered a hummus platter, the fruit bowl side, and the eggs and hash. The eggs and hash was not bad -- the hash was a bit on the oily side. The hummus platter was just alright -- the pita bread was dry and stale. The lady was nice, but didn't seem to have proper customer service / restaurant etiquette. She just wasn't attentive, didn't have a good second nature for tending customers, and when we were heading out the door after our meal she kind of motioned to give her the right of way as she was coming in, which is a small thing but it surprised us because we thought usually the workers would give their customers right of way. Overall, the food was just average, but given the pace of this place, I wouldn't return here. The younger workers really were apt though, and they were great with refilling our water when they saw it was empty. All the workers seemed to be tending all table without much coordination.

Good local cafe. Food was delicious and fresh. Loved the garden hash. Friend's cheeseburger looked amazing (and he confirmed it was). Service by the waitstaff was great. They were able to accommodate our large group with kids last minute. The restaurant is on the small side, so be warned if coming with strollers. There is only one restroom and the line for it got long. No skim milk so skipped getting a latte. If the owners read this - get a sign that tells people to wait to be seated at the door. We along with many other groups after us walked in and went to the bar for assistance and were coldly redirected to stand at the door. Not the best way to welcome people, and it is not clear. And I saw this happen over and over. Owners aside, everything else was great.

Food was okay, when I ordered the platter didn't think it was gonna be a Lox bagel! The service was great, a little slow but I think it makes the time spent go slower and better!! The ambiance was very cute, the restaurant goes all the way to the back!! We enjoyed a lot their cocktails! Wish the had a bottomless option or something

Came here for brunch. Was pretty solid. Interesting interior set up, kind of spaced out yet crowded. I really enjoyed the food though. The ricotta board was delicious with blueberries, honey, and toast. The shrimp tacos were okay. And the Creole Shrimp special with cornbread was great.

The Rose Fried Chicken Sandwich, spectacular give me 14 of them. The chicken was so well seasoned, you taste it in every bite. The sandwich has a bacon & tomato jam that is so delish you don't want the sandwich to finish. Served with long wedge fries, perfect lunch dish. Service was good just a bit hot in the restaurant. Our server Heather was friendly and gave good recommendations. I tried the Maple Old Fashion drink, felt like it was missing something. Cute shop, can't believe it's only been around since 2022 fits right in the neighborhood.

avocado toast (I smushed the egg, it comes whole, and it comes with two slices of avo toast)

very cute spot right in town, cozy seating inside with lots of tables through the back. I got the avocado toast with poached eggs (they are whole and it comes with two slices and eggs, in the pic I smushed it) and it was great, really easy to do a to go order. the staff were very nice and it was a nice stop on a rainy day.

    Stormking sandwich

Came after a hike in the cold spring area. Cute little cafe like environment with simple but charming decor. There's only one bathroom (it was clean though) but there was always a line. Got the storm king sandwich. House grilled turkey really set this apart from a normal sandwich. I'm glad it came with sweet potato chips. Coffee was unlimited refills. Good place for a bite to eat without having to spend too much money. Friendly service.

They didn't ask how I'd like the burger cooked, and the patty was cooked to a standard doneness. It wasn't the best burger I've ever had, but it was hearty, satisfying, and definitely filling. Nothing beats an ice-cold beer after a hike. Compared to Manhattan, the prices were very reasonable, making the meal feel like a great value. One of the best parts is the location right next to the railroad tracks--you can enjoy your meal while watching the trains pass by, which gives the place a unique charm. If it's your first time visiting Cold Spring, I'd recommend starting your trip here.

There's some parking in front of the restaurant but good luck finding an open spot! We requested a high chair for our kiddo. The first one was broken and the replacement had a ripped safety strap. Unfortunately, they didn't have any others available. The unique thing about this restaurant is that it's right next to the train tracks. At first it was really cool watching the trains go by, especially for the kids. But they came by much more often than we expected and the novelty wore off pretty quickly. The trains are literally less than 10 feet from some of the tables. Not necessarily a negative, just something to know since it definitely shapes the dining experience. They do have a kids menu. We originally wanted to try the Chicken Tinga Egg Rolls but they were sold out that day. The fish and chips were good and the portions were huge. The fried calamari was also pretty good. The Double Double Burger was just an average cheeseburger. It was fine but definitely overpriced for what it was. We also ordered some kind of garlic bread that I couldn't find again on the online menus. It was toast with garlic, cheese, and some kind of jam spread. I really didn't like it. Service ranged from okay to almost absent. It was a holiday weekend and our waitress seemed to be covering a lot of tables so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Everything here was pretty expensive which made some of the misses harder to overlook. Overall, the train side location makes for a unique experience, especially if you have young kids who like trains. The food was decent overall but considering the prices, I expected a little more. 3.5 rounded down.

It's counter service and there was already a bit of a line when we arrived around 7:15am (why were so many people already up and about?! lol). We loved that they had a great variety of options, including many vegetarian options. I went with the egg & cheese sandwich and accidentally ordered it without the greens & sauce (whoops!). However, it was still delicious and satisfying. My husband got the avocado toast which was SUPER filling due to the hummus that was on it. He was only able to finish half of it. We also got a side order of fruit which, to my delight, was a bowl of berries! The fruit is seasonal so the combination might be different depending on what time of year you are visiting. Also, both of our coffees met our standards, which are a bit high these days. So kudos to them on that! The ambiance was absolutely incredible!!! Very well lit with a bright, welcoming atmosphere. We sat near the back of the restaurant (away from all windows), however we still felt like we were being flooded with sunlight. It was wonderful! Definitely recommend coming here to grab breakfast while visiting Beacon!

What it does lack, however, is a standalone boba shop. While Asahi is, first and foremost, a poke restaurant, it does offer a selection of boba teas and slushies. The weather had just turned from dreary cold to summery hot, so I was craving my favorite Asian drink. After some hand-wringing (I couldn't decide which one to get), I finally settled on an iced strawberry tea with milk foam. I wasn't confident in my order, but all my anxieties allayed at first sip. It was delicious! The boba was soft, the strawberry flavors came through strongly without tasting artificial, and the milk foam added a complex layer of creaminess and saltiness that elevated the drink altogether. Even my husband, who's not much of a boba drinker, thought it was great (and kept stealing sips). If you're in Beacon and you're suddenly hit with a hankering for boba, try Asahi.

It was nice to have a conversation with our group. It has a very warm atmosphere. Our food was good I got the hot honey chicken. My wife got the fish and chips both were good. A couple in our group got their food and it was cold but the cook made them a second order. The wait staff was not trained well and seemed very overwhelmed and irritated by the number of customers. Our food order was taken and it took 40 mins before the first dish was on the table. A few of the drinks were forgotten and the waitress was irritated when we asked any questions regarding the order. The Bloody Mary was very salty and undrinkable. Needless to say the cook/owner came out to care for our bill and was irritated when one of our group was asked how long we waited, by a customer and we informed them of the long wait time. He told us to leave and never come back to his restaurant. After the heated exchange I attempted to have a calm conversation outside and he wouldn't allow, nor take the time to have a polite conversation. Though the food was good, I will not be returning due to the rude interchange, that wasn't very professional for a cook/owner. I would not recommend this establishment.
