There's not much seating (there's only 4 small tables for 2 each and 4 bar seats), but it's manageable for a smaller restaurant. However, I like the vibe and the concept. It seems family owned and the food seems fresh. The bathroom is very clean. There are many vegetarian and vegan options. They've got salad, obviously, but also wraps, quinoa bowls, yogurt, smoothies, and more. You can also build your own salad or bowl. We ordered a custom salad, sesame ginger tofu quinoa bowl, and an orange mango coconut drink. Everything was light and refreshing, but best of all, the servings were enormous and extremely cost-efficient. You'd probably get 3/4 of the food for $3-4 more in the city. I'd definitely recommend coming here if you want a healthy alternative to fast food. read more

Stopped by this past Sunday after the farmers market, called in by the blackboard on the sidewalk advising they had SOUP!! I got the Shrimp and Corn Chowder, served with a huge square of Cornbread. it was DELICIOUS! The chowder was savory & chock full of veg and shrimp. Totally hit the spot on a cold day! I'll open up with a cliche, Butterhead Salad Company fed our souls and bodies. I'm a big eater, it typically takes a lot to fill me up. But when the food is this fresh and flavorful, I'm satisfied easier. The restaurant is about a year old as of July 2024. Modern, clean, nicely decorated. The food is nicely displayed. It had a few tables but we decided to take the food to a nearby riverfront park. (Long Dock is about 5 minutes away) I don't want to neglect the staff, each and every person we encountered was friendly and knowledgeable. They're all engaged in this small business, it's not a chain without quality control. They made the falafel themselves, the dressings etc. We were on our way to my brother and sister in law's house and had our dog with us. One of the staff members made sure the water bowl outside was full and even gave our dog a treat! Now I can't neglect the food. Since I'm a Yelper and I was trying for the first time, I decided to order one too many things. My wife and I each got brown rice bowls and I added a Mediterranean salad with fig balsamic dressing to share. I added falafel to my brown rice bowl instead of a traditional chicken or steak protein. As mentioned earlier, the falafel is made in house and was delicious. The brown rice itself was cooked nicely, they add a green if you want. I had baby spinach, good choice. Then they add red or black beans, plus a choice of six included toppings. I went with all six and they were quality, cilantro was one of the six and it added to the bowl nicely. Topped off with a chipotle ranch squeeze, it was a great bowl! My wife enjoyed her brown rice bowl as well. They were nice enough to divide our extra Mediterranean salad into two bowls for easier sharing. The fig balsamic dressing is awesome! They have top quality arugula and they add delicious stuffed grape leaves and a boatload of other ingredients. Great value and high quality! I washed it all down with their homemade unsweetened tea Arnold Palmer, fantastic! Had their oatmeal raisin cookie for dessert, also delicious! The surrounding area is lucky to have Butterhead Salad Company. I look forward to returning! read more

Butterhead. The name itself is intriguing, so very creative. The inside is very cozy and quaint, like a independent coffeehouse. Plants on stands, and orange color make it very cheery and artistic. The chairs are metal like one would find in an al freso eatery in Europe, or the West coast, say La Jolla. My first Cobb salad experience was in La Jolla, the swanky upscale suburb of San Diego at the Cottage, a famous eatery that even has its own cookbook. I was impressed with the menu; so many choices for salads with creative names, like "Not just your ordinary cobb salad". The use of multicolored chalk on the menu board is a nice touch, because white is boring. As an art aficionado, this is a plus in such a thriving art community. I decided to order to cobble together salad. While a bit pricey, I was soon to find out whether the price was justified. It was. The counter girl, very polite, and not averse to my small talk, said that the top is biodegradable and the bowl was, too. It was very nice to know that this was a place I could possibly bring my own metal or ceramic bowl to eat out of. The salad: generous enough for three people! Huge chunks of sweet potato, avocado, bacon, mixed greens, onions. The salad was very colorful and filling. I ate approximately two thirds of my salad with a prebiotic orange soda that was very refreshing and not syrupy. I was satiated and not bloated. That is a true measure of a good eating establishment. Another test I employ is: how good dies a food taste after being in the refrigerator for a day? It was delicious! Even cold, because who heats up a salad? With more than ten salads on three menu, and the ability to make salads a la carte, I will be back. read more

This restaurant has the most fabulous salads. I had the Mediterranean salad with arugula, stuffed grape leaves, feta, avocado, chick peas, peppers, onions, olives, etc. Many of the ingredients are organic, including the arugula. To make the meal even better, I had a detoxing water with mint leaves, ginger root and orange slices. Delicate, healthy.... Great for todays sunny weather. The restaurant is clean and welcoming with wooden tables and chairs. All the decor seems perfect. The ambience is great! The owner, Sabena, is the nicest person and helps to make the salads. It's a good thing I don't live in Beacon. I'd be eating there everyday. Next time I'll try a different salad. On Thursday, April 25th, , a friend and I had lunch at Butterhead Salad Company. He had the Cobb Salad and I had their Mediterranean Salad along with a fresh brewed large coffee. Our salads were so fresh that they looked and tasted like fresh picked garden greens! Also, I had grilled chicken (at additional cost) on my salad. I recommend that customers come at 11:30 AM when they first open as they fill up very quickly, (they are a small, quaint restaurant) and the phone gets busy with call-in orders. Besides great salads and coffee, Butterhead Salad Company serves everything in compostable bowls, even their forks! This is one of my new best places in beacon to get something healthy but great tasting. I took a friend there that was visiting. She is pescatarian going moving towards becoming vegan. I took her there and she was in heaven!! I had the brownies. Not sure they were vegan ( I'm not vegan) they were homemade and so good! They were not a block. They were soft, chocolaty goodness.
