It was one the of the hottest days of the summer and after going on a little adventure to Bannerman's Island, we needed a little pick me up called boba tea. Asahi was the perfect place equipped and ready to make us happy with exactly what we wanted. From Thai tea to taro, this place serves up the classics plus their very own fruity and fun specials which is what I ended up going for. I couldn't resist their beautiful seasonal purple drink with lemon and pea flower with little surprise bursts of flavor lychee boba. It was delicious, refreshing and so good!! When ordering milk tea, I always do slightly less sweet and less ice. For this one I kept the sweetness as it was and did less ice which I totally should've known not to since it was for sure one of the hottest days and it quickly melted away. I will say, since the boba bursts with lychee sweetness, I could've for sure gone down a bit on the sweetness level. Other than that, it was delish! Love that you can order ahead online or order from their DIY order station. Can't wait to try their bowls next time, everything looked so fresh and refreshing for a nice and hot day!

Summertime is a great time for some poke bowls and sushi. I love this place and the people - they are very welcoming. We ordered poke bowls with half white rice and half greens as a base. Added some yummy toppings and sauce on it and the blend was perfect for a summer noon - refreshing for the palate and cool for your belly. Would love to visit again.

On this 90 degree weather it was so refreshing to come here and order two slushies, matcha unsweetened and coconut! Beautiful ambiance, sunny looking and clean! Drinks very refreshing and a great rice! Service was friendly and fast!

I'm not exaggerating when I say this is the best poke bowl I've ever had. Most poke bowls look fancy and hit it all right but are so flavorless. This place hits the bowl with delectable sauces. Also unlimited toppings that don't cost extra. I got three proteins of spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and yellowtail and all were so fresh. I loved every bite here. $17

Well the staff was very friendly and offered menu items even let me sample the honey wasabi sauce to see if I wanted it in pokey bowl. Also staff was very organized and made sure to repeat my order to ensure it was correct. The blue crab fantastic roll was just that fantastic and packed with blue crab and plenty of eel which rare since usually you get a small amount in rolls. Overall the roll was worth it and definitely flavorful from spicy sauce and BBQ eel. As for the pokey bowl, that's awesome you get as many toppings as you like, I paid extra to get shrimp and spicy tuna, but with crab salad topping I essentially got three proteins. As much as I did like honey wasabi sauce it does get too much and my sinuses let me know. The ponzu jalapeño sauce I could not taste or notice buried. Still this place is only place with customizable poke bowls, gets points in my book, since you can get a different bowl and new experience every time, rather than boring pre selected. Also good this place has a self order kiosk if you want customize your order on the fly. Here is more of a to go place vibe, even though there is sitting here, it's alright nothing fancy.

A great place to sit and people watch!

This afternoon, my friend had a variety of their sushi, which he said was the freshest he's ever tasted. I had a Large Jasmine Milk Tea with no sugar (I didn't miss it!), extra Boba (Honey/Crystal) and Regular Ice. Also, I had a Poke (pronounced "po-kay") Bowl with Brown Rice, cooked Tofu, Salmon and Shrimp. Also, I had toppings: cucumber, edamame, green onion, Sweet Corn, Red Onion, Grape Tomatoes, Broccoli, Mango and Avocado. Also, I had the Non-Spicy House Poke Sauce, along with a garnish oc Cashew Nuts. We had our meals at the table and enjoyed the ambience of the immaculate, clean restaurant. The accessible unisex bathroom was immaculate. I loved the lighting and decorations in the restaurant, too. We'll be back!

Sauces are soooo sweet. Just get a bowl and add soy sauce. Good portion size and not horribly overpriced.

I was craving for some poke bowl so after browsing through google map I found this place…read more This restaurant is located in the downtown area and the buildings in the neighborhood are very cute. Inside the restaurant is decorated nicely giving me the feel of a local restaurant in Hawaii's tourist district lol. The seatings are all booth and look very cozy. There are 2 staff at the counter and they both are very friendly and welcoming. There are many different menus from poke to ramen and snacks. The price is on the higher side compared to the portions given. 1 scoop of protein is $14, 2 scoops is $17 and 3 scoops is $20. I like how they keep vegetables because they are fresh and crispy. Spicy poke sauce is very tasty too. It has a nice kick to it. They also have loyalty cards that you can collect points and get free scoops when you purchase enough amount of food. I will be back again if I will be in the area. I only wish they gave a bigger portion lol.

Update to my earlier review from 2024…read more We dined in for the first time on a spring Friday evening at around 6 PM and we were pretty much were the only ones dining inside for a majority of our meal. However, they were plenty busy with takeout orders. Service was quick as the waiter took our order down and our food was out within MINUTES! I ordered the Shoyu Ramen, which was a pretty good ramen considering they weren't a restaurant that specialized in ramen. The ramen was very tasty and like any other I've ordered from legit ramen restaurants. My wife ordered a custom poke bowl, which we've ordered many times before for pickup. The bowl was MASSSIVE and seemingly much bigger than what they typically give for takeout orders, although their takeout poke bowls are very generous too. For our kids, we ordered the House Special Fried Rice, which came with eggs and Chinese sausage. It was a solid fried rice and we were quite surprised it came with Chinese sausage because it's an ingredient we rarely see used for fried rice entrees at restaurants. Overall, our dining experience here was good and we loved that it was nice and quiet. It never got super busy, but a few parties did come in after us. The bread and butter of their business is definitely takeout though.

I have a go-to order now that I could seriously eat everyday and never get tired of. It's a tiny place, so not the most pleasurable dine-in experience, but I usually get take-out anyway.
