I love this place. Great menu, lots of tables, always busy. Great place for brunch or coffee.

We eat here every time we come to Eau Claire and I'm happy to support them. Everything I've ever eaten here has been fantastic and I actually can't believe that I haven't written a review already, so here it is. The French Press is located in a little strip mall The french press coffee was good and kind of a unique experience, which is somewhat expected given that it's their namesake. The meal that stands out the most in my mind is the Green Goddess. it's an amazing breakfast. Honestly though, I've not had anything bad here. They have an entire case of various pastries and there are always people here. The staff is super nice and it's always clean and cute. I'd highly recommend The French Press as a cute place to stop and grab a bite to eat!

Hubby and I went to The French Press for the first time on Saturday early morning. The restaurant was a welcoming, clean, cozy, warm, bright & spacious place. We were so excited to see their various baked goods and extended coffee menu! Food & drinks were ready within 10 mins. My raspberry scone & banana chocolate crumb cake were yummy and went very well with my creamy, flavorful hot dirty chai. The chocolate croissant was not like a typical croissant - didn't have layers in the pastry. But the restaurant filled it with lots of creamy chocolate inside. If you liked chocolate or had a sweet tooth, you would be very pleased! Hubby ordered the French Country Scrambler. The size was perfect. The sausage and scrambled egg tasted really good together. The potato were okay - could be more crispy with more seasoning. The other thing was that it was served warm, not as what we expected (a hot breakfast). The cold brew was on the light, berry and fruity side. If you are looking for bold, strong and heavy-body cold brew, this may not satisfy your expectations. The restaurant got busy after 8:15AM. I guess if you have concerns about social distancing during the pandemic, you should consider going early in the morning (before 8. They open at 7:30). Otherwise, just mask up and get ready to wait a bit for a pickup.

Wow!!! In the rotation , a must stop on the way out of MN!!! Lemon Ricotta pan cakes and artichoke quiche were great. Pick up cookies too for the road. We'll be back!

First customer at 6:30 this morning, he took the time to make a snowman on my latte in the middle of a snowstorm.

Wonderful place, big menu for breakfast & lunch, and lots of tantalizing pastries. I stopped here right at 6:30 on a TH morning when they opened after an overnight job before heading back to St Paul. We're in the middle of a snow storm and the barista made a fun snowman on my latte, says we gotta have some fun with all this snow. I had the lemon ricotta pancakes with fruit and a side of bacon. They we're good, tho the whipped cream on top was a fair bit heavy...ate it all up though.

The coffee was ok and food was so so service was really nice. Great atmosphere definitely want to try other things but meatloaf sandwich was not even close to as good as my mom's and can't remember what I had the second time I visited during my weekend visit so must have not been too bad but also just okay. The Atmosphere was extremely inviting family friendly but also very cozy coffee shop vibe. Worth checking out when in town and close to some other fun places such as The ceramic place down the road Cheers Pablo.

Amazing breakfast. It is a small little place. Very cute and the food is amazing. The service was incredible, since it was my first time and they helped me decide on my breakfast. everything we had was over the top. All the food was amazing but the ricotta pancakes were bomb, and the sweet potato fries were also amazing.

Made a quick stop at the French Press this afternoon for coffee and snacks. The service and food was outstanding. My kids loved their sweet treats, my coffee was strong and bold, just the way I like it. If you're passing through the area you need to stop by and try dine in this cafe.

Charming place and lots of choices for fresh bakery and sandwiches or salads. We walked in an hour before they closed. We were drinking decaf which we realize most do not go to a coffee shop for decaf. Wasn't very hot but still tasty & it's a bottomless cup. Nice selection of milk alternatives. Place was clean & staff was nice. Local art on the walls for sale.

I came in on a Sunday morning and there was a little line of people ahead of me but it moved pretty quickly! Interior-wise, there isn't a ton of space for seating but luckily, there are plenty of tables/chairs at The Yard Container Park that's ~40 second walk from the bakery. I got the strawberry passionfruit cruffin, chocolate almond croissant, lavender vanilla shortbread, and a latte with sugar-free caramel. First off, I was very impressed with the variety of flavors that were displayed (i.e. passionfruit, rhubarb, cardamon, kimchi, etc.) All the baked goods I got were fantastic- especially the cruffin. I was initially hesitant to order it because I'm not a fan when the exterior doesn't have that flakey/crunchiness. But I'm glad I tried the one here because the texture was perfect. As for the filling, it was a good balance of sweet and tart. Same thing for the croissant. When I ate the cruffin, I already knew the croissant was about to hit- and it did. Perfectly flakey and had that beautiful crunchy exterior. They definitely didn't skimp on the chocolate/almond filling either! Personally, it was a little too much for me but that's just a me thing Last but not least, the lavender vanilla shortbread was wonderful. You can actually taste the lavender and they added a perfect amount of salt to bring the flavors out! Aside from the delightful pastries, the coffee was lovely and the staff were super friendly. Nostalgic Bean is definitely a Altoona gem!

I was expecting more of a grain mixture with herbs but what I got was basically a bowl of chipped parsley sprinkled with a grain. But, it was tasty. I don't know if I would order again unless I was really cutting calories...lol. I took a dessert to go. It was a custard/coconut type and I loved it! They advertised hand pressed lemonade on their specials board but when I went to order I was told that they didn't have any. Also, on the menu when I ordered my tabouli, on the menu it stated it came with flat bread. I went back to the counter to inquire about the flatbread I was told no, it doesn't come with the tabouli. I pointed it out on the menu and she proceeded to cross it off telling me it shouldn't be there. These two little things that happened were a turn off but not enough to stop me from going back. I saw this place when I first visited Eau Claire but never got the chance to go. I told my friends that when we hang out for vacation, my only one real request is hitting up ECDC at some point. Not because I love rock music but because I love the ingenuity of the name... and maybe because it reminds me of AC/DC every time I think about it. We popped in on our quiet day and were greeted with a really nice coffeehouse and some really nice baristas. I ordered my usual americano while Tim and Matt got drinks and a small baked good. We took a seat at one of the tables and just chatted and talked about our plans for the day. My americano was really good. I noticed americanos up around Eau Claire were more subtle and subdued versus back home, which by this point I was getting used to it. Tim and Matt both got a latte that sounded good to them and a baked good. Matt got a macaroon and Tim got a tiramisu cake square. I don't have much to say about this place that I haven't said a million times already. It was really nice inside. It had a very black theme to it. Maybe inspired by being somewhat named like this one hard rock band? There were some Star Wars meditating posters in one corner of the dining area. We didn't stay long before we slowly sauntered on to our next destination but I am 110% glad we stopped in and finally got to check it out. It was definitely worth the wait. Check it out sometime if you are in the area and need a break from the chain places (or try one of the other good places to get coffee in the area, which is what I suggest). Rock on and stay caffeinated.
