Firstly I was not greeted when walking in the door. That is fine, because there was a line of a couple people in front of me. When I got to the counter the girl taking the order just stared at me blankly... which felt extremely awkward. So I spoke and stated what I wanted. To which her response was an empty, "ok" or "yep" as I went through my order. I sat down and waited on my order. Plenty of spaces to sit so that was a plus. My coffee order was a ln iced lavender latter with regular milk and an extra shot. It tasted bland like water, yet burnt at the same time. Did not enjoy. Also my drink was warm and the ice melted before I left the store. disappointed to say the least. Spicy hog sandwich was great. I will give them points where it is due. The sandwich was perfect and what I was hoping for. But again, the service from the girl that dropped it off at the table really needs to work on her energy because it was not pleasant to interact with even for the split second she came to drop off my food. I was thanked on the way out. I appreciated that! Note this was from the other girl behind the counter that was making the drinks and had some life to her. read more

A cute coffee shop on water street offering a wide variety of drinks and unique sandwiches. The seating area is way larger than expected, and the service was overall good. The only complaint would be inconsistency with orders - as my latte came out hot not iced, and I overheard numerous other mistakes made with the orders of other patrons. read more

I come here often with visiting friends, a place to put my nose in a book, or to get some work done. I am never disappointed in the spicy hog breakfast sandwich or the delectable 4$ ice latte. I am always greeted by a sweetie pie with a winning smile. The workers are very friendly and I love how they seem to get along as well. Sometimes there is a line but it doesn't take that long to get through because the workers are so efficient. It gives me a change to enjoy the art pieces on the wall or take a look inside the newspaper provided. read more

Stopped in while passing through town and I'm glad we picked the Goat Coffee House! I got the Goat Sandwich and a cold press latte with vanilla. The coffee was so smooth, it had really good flavor. The goat sandwich was so tasty! The bacon was perfectly crisp and went well with the smooth goat cheese. I usually am not a fan of capers but they really complimented this sandwich! The items were also priced well, I got 2 coffees and 2 sandwiches for just around $20! Perfect lunch price. The staff was very kind and helpful with my questions. Review Visit: November 13th, 2024 Is The Goat Coffee House the GOAT? Not quite but pretty close. Continuing our exploration of Eau Claire, Tim mentioned how he's always wanted to try The Goat out so the next thing we knew, we were parking out front and reading the board listing the barista's favorite drinks. I grabbed a caramel latte with almond milk and Tim grabbed something that I don't remember. It was fairly busy so we headed to the back room. Well, that ended up being an adventure as the coffeehouse extended on and on and on. We ended up in the far back near the back door. I don't think I've ever been in a coffeehouse that felt like it went on and on and on. Any who, enough about that. It was fairly busy when we arrived so our drinks took a hot second to come out but not too long. We got to sipping and talking and the drink wasn't too bad. A bit light on caramel flavoring but overall not bad. Once we finished up our drinks, we dipped out to the next destination. Would I say The Goat is GOAT? Not based on one drink alone and seeing as this was the only coffeehouse I stopped at during my stay in Eau Claire... I am curious to try others out to see how they stack up to The Goat. read more

A solid local coffeehouse with some excellent sandwich choices. The staff is always very friendly, and service is usually pretty quick.

Okay food, I was definitely still hungry after and my sandwich was pretty cold. The miel was awesome though.

Every single price on the menu was crossed out and they just wrote "prices may vary" instead because they're too lazy to update it. I got an iced latte and all the syrup was settled at the bottom. It needs to be mixed in with the espresso while it's hot so it's distributed throughout the drink. Also the baristas were super annoying - yelling really loudly and laughing super obnoxiously while all the customers are here to study. They use the type of gross plastic cups that they serve soda in at low quality restaurants. The tables were dirty. read more

I usually get a latte as a basic order when I go to a new place. I ordered a hot latte with vanilla and hazelnut. Upon drinking it, I knew it was wrong. It was basically plain coffee but the reason I get lattes is for the steamed milk. This latte just tasted like milk and looked like it. I was a little bit disappointed. The girls were friendly and their prices are reasonable. $4 for a 16 oz coffee is unheard of where I'm from. read more

Coffee is ok, but just like everything in EC it is not open at the correct times/early. A coffee shop that doesn't open until 730 usually means I'll just go to the big box stores that are open at correct times. read more

The location I went to this morning is the one located inside of Luther Hospital. My daughter is undergoing a procedure and my restless self had to take a walk down to stay busy and grab some coffee. They accidentally added an extra coffee on the bill. Had to ask for a refund. Ask my name and gave me a flag for drink and food delivery. Slow Service, and they weren't busy. Drink finally came, food never came. Had to ask for refund as was in a hurry. Manager hanging out chatting with old friend a few booths down, maybe there should be more managing. That's my two cents. This place is terrific! We stopped on a drive from Minneapolis to Chicago and it was well worth the stop. Everyone is incredibly friendly, both the employees and the other patrons. We went on a Monday morning and there was a whipped cream explosion incident that got everyone in the place laughing. The whole experience brightened our day! The food is terrific (highly recommend the Mediterranean breakfast sandwich) and the coffee is wonderful! Everything is reasonably priced and delicious. read more

I LOVE this coffee house. By far one of my favorites in the entire town of Eau claire. Reasonably priced (if not lower than expected) on coffee, hot coco, breakfast food options, lunch food options... and the seating is adorable. Not a whole lot of seating, but there are booths and tables. A nice place to just sit down and do homework too, if you're a local! :) usually a pretty quiet place from the times I've been there. I am very glad that the goat is back in its rightful place. I go here on the frequent and I love their campfire mocha. I also like their tea and their peppermint tea hits different in the winter. I also really like their warm peanut butter and jellies and it makes me feel less empty inside from getting a 67/100 on my exam. This little place is great! I visited it three times during my stay in Eau Claire for a friend's wedding for super delicious sandwiches and soup. I highly recommend the tomato florentine soup and the Green Oliver Twist sandwich. Soooo tasty! The amaretto drip coffee I had on one visit wasn't particularly great, but the rest of the items made up for that uninspiring cup of coffee. The owner is AWESOME! He is really friendly and nice and clearly loves his little coffee house. My friend was getting her hair done a few doors down in preparation for her wedding and he delivered the breakfast we ordered to the hair salon when it was ready, which was really great. I definitely recommend this place and will definitely be back here if I ever visit Eau Claire again! :) read more

We stopped for lunch on the way from Minneapolis to Madison. Based on the reviews and menu, I was expecting good quality coffee and better-than-average sandwiches. The prices were good, but seriously, the coffee was like a Gloria Jean's: weak, not fresh and all the thermo pots had flavored coffees. Even the Goat Blend, which is imagine was supposed to be unflavored, had hints of having been ground and brewed in the same equipment as the flavored. My tuna melt had a thin slice of American "cheese". Really? In Wisconsin? Cheddar shouldn't be too snooty even for a small college town. The coconut pineapple muffin tastes homemade and was truly delicious. The blueberry scone was bland and chewy. Overall, this place has the feel of a small town coffee shop frequented by 18 year olds just trying coffee for the first time. read more

Nice! The owner is a nice guy who definitely knows what he's doing (yay for not getting a confused stare when I ask for my cappuccino to be dry). The coffee is solid, and the atmosphere is comfortable. This is a classic independent coffee shop, and it reminds me of some of my favorites back home in the pacific northwest. Nice place to stop in mid-afternoon for a bit of a sit down and a cup of tea. Nice decor. Few people. Quiet. Nice selection of teas. Several flavors of ice cream available. Tins of their tea offerings for sale, too. When ordering tea, you'll be given a HUGE mug of hot water. Nothing wrong with a huge mug, but the amount of water diluted the flavor of the tea, leaving me with hot, colored water; there was really no flavor to speak of. Even tried adding some raw sugar - it helped a little, but not enough. Thus, I feel like I paid $1.90 for a HUGE mug of hot water. What was kinda gross was their squeeze bottle of honey - first, there was barely any honey in the bottle, and second, there were hairs and fuzz stuck all around the nozzle. Eeewww. read more

The new Goat space is great -- much easier on the eyes and less of a cluster-f#ck by the counter than the old setup. I love that their wifi is free and you don't even need a password. It is much more reliable than the wifi at Racy's. There are outlets at every table. Food and service are great; everything is made to order. My only wish is that they were open later! read more

Hands down my favorite coffee shop of all time. Inviting and personable staff, great coffee, food, and warm atmosphere. Not as noisy as a lot of coffee shops I've been to which makes a great spot to read or do homework. Also have nice outdoor seating in the summer. Definitely would recommend to anyone. read more

I am a regular at this coffee shop and I absolutely love every employee that works there. The owners are awesome and remember their customers faces and occasionally orders (I get a coffee with half and half and always had to ask for the half n half, but now the owner sets it out automatically). It is a friendly atmosphere with great music, drinks, and food. The Jonah butta is one of my favorite drinks to order and I've been thoroughly impressed with the soup and sandwiches every time I've gone there. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a chill, coffee place to surf the web, do homework, or catch up with a friend. read more
