There's so much to be said about the Frogtown Inn. To sum it up succinctly, EVERYTHING was fantastic. The owners Mark and Carol were more than accommodating, and they made us feel very welcome during our weekend getaway. The room was spotless and super cozy. We honestly got the best sleep ever as the beds were super comfortable. The included satellite TV service was a nice touch, as we were able to watch some good shows while unwinding from our day. The included breakfast was absolutely fantastic. Everything was super fresh and it screamed top quality ingredients. I had gotten the special with truffle and asparagus with home fries and it was VERY good. My lady had scrambled eggs with sausage patties, blueberry pancakes, home fries toast and she loved it as well. That same night we had dinner in the restaurant named Butter, and it was such a treat. The menu is extensive enough to have a variety of options without being overbearing. Dinner was just as amazing as breakfast, and EVERYTHING we had was top tier. We got a Tokyo Mule, the Sidecar, The Margarita Flatbread, the Lobster Campanelle, the Horseradish Crusted Salmon, a Nutty Irish dessert cocktail and an Espresso Martini alongside a dessert (I can't remember which one we shared). We devoured absolutely everything we had. Portions were generous and the flavors were out of this world. Customer service on the restaurant side was also very good. Do note that dinner isn't included in your stay, but I HIGHLY recommend trying the restaurant. Aside from all of the above, I can't overstate how good the customer service was here. Mark and Carol really made this place feel like a second home. The decor also gives that feeling, and it all culminates to being one of the best places I've ever stayed. Don't hesitate. We chose this place for dinner after our elopement. We were able to book weeks in advance online. When we arrived, they did a beautiful job decorating for halloween! Super fun and tasteful decor! Also very warm and welcoming inside as they had the fireplace lit with candles. We were instantly greeted by name and was offered a complementary champagne toast and dessert for saying we were celebrating! We ordered homemade ricotta & bruschetta, both of us got the porck chops, and split the cranberry creme brulee. It was one of the best meals we've both had. We are dreaming about that pork chop, had such delicious flavor, juicy, and decent portions! The mushroom sauce was also super flavorful with the mashed potatoes cooked perfectly. Our waitress was very personable and attentive to us as well. She made small talk and seemed very interested in our day. Overall The hotel stay seemed overpriced (website advertised price was $250/night) for what I got. Positives I stayed for one night, checking in at night, which wasn't an issue. The overall space is aesthetically pleasing. There are chairs by the water outside. The candy by the door was a nice touch. There were cartons of water in the room. Breakfast was good. The owner was nice. Negatives The standard queen room was on the small side. The mattress was too soft. The bathroom door didn't close properly and would stick if you tried to force the door shut. There wasn't a hair dryer. The towel quality wasn't great (i.e., towels were thin and felt cheap, like what you might see at a gym). There appeared to be dog hair in the towel or washcloth (pets are allowed here). The standing shower was very small and hard to move around in (size-wise, it's hard to shave your legs). I could hear cars going by on the street in the morning; it felt like I was at a roadside motel. read more

First it's easy to find that's always a plus. It's cozy but not small. It's absolutely beautiful. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. Slept like a rock under the warm comforter. What a fabulous bed and breakfast! We stumbled into this lovely gem when the Inn we had booked 4 months prior cancelled on us the day we were to arrive (I also wrote a review on that place which seems to be closed now). The owner greeted us warmly and showed us our beautiful, spacious , yet cozy, room, Though the shower was a little small, the rest of the bathroom was roomy and clean. The beds were very comfortable and the bedding was luxurious. To top off our wonderful stay, the breakfast included was absolutely delicious! A couple we spoke to in the dining room said the dinners there were also outstanding-as we were there for a wedding, we did not have the opportunity to have dinner , but some day I'd like to be back to try it! After we left, and about 5 hours out of town, we realized we had left our "wedding clothes" in the closet! I called Mark, the owner, and he gladly shipped us our forgotten items , which we received in quick time. A wonderful and beautiful place to stay, run by a kind and considerate owner who is clearly committed to his clientele. 3.5 stars We came here for my daughter's birthday. We stayed at skytop lodge and wanted to go somewhere special for her birthday dinner. We were debating between the Windsor dining hall at skytop or the frogtown. The menu at Frogtown looked pretty good and there were so many good reviews on yelp. The yelp deal, $115 for $175 was the bonus that pushed us to Frogtown. There was another yelp deal, free house wine with entree but they didn't allow us to use both deals. The menu changes slightly everyday. For example, the filling in the toad pockets change daily. For the most part, I really liked the creativeness of the appetizers. We liked 3 of the 4 appetizers that we ordered. The toad pockets were really good. Today, they were filled with lasagna ingredients. The crab bisque and portobello mushrooms were also very good. But the "famed" blue tomato that all of the yelpers raved about didn't live up to expectations. Maybe it was because we substituted mozzarella cheese for the blue cheese? The cheese was fresh mozzarella so no complaint there but the tomato was just not cooked long enough. It was lukewarm at most and not at all juicy. The entrees were just ok. For the price, I expected a lot better. We ordered 2 filet mignons and 1 strip steak. Make sure you order the steak 1 "doneness" level lower. For example, if you like your steak well done, order medium. If you like it medium, order it medium rare. Our steaks all came out overdone. The filet mignons were particularly hard to eat because there is no sauce in the dish. There was also a "musty" taste to it. At least the strip steak had a bit of au jus so that it was not as dry. The asparagus that came with the filet mignon was very plain. All in all, the entrees were not terrible. The ingredients were fresh. Too bad the food was just a tad overcooked. Like I said, it was not bad but should have been better for the price point. Lastly, since we were celebrating a birthday, we brought in a cake. I had called ahead and they told me there would be a $2/per person plate charge. Although I was initially hesitant because the plating charge would end up costing as much as the cake itself, we went ahead with it because we've been to other restaurants in NY who do this and they usually do something nice to warrant the charge. They would swirl chocolate sauce on the plate to create a pretty design or something to make it look special. Here, I was disappointed. The cake was simply cut and served on the plate, nothing more. We had the most wonderful wedding weekend at Frogtown. Carol and Mark went above and beyond making us feel like part of their family. We had seven rooms there over the weekend. Each was comfortable and clean. Carol made sure each room had a personal note from her with snacks when we got there. Breakfast each morning was delicious. And we had our rehearsal dinner for 15 of us in the private Sun Room. Everyone raved about the food! They then flipped that room over for the next day where the bridal party used it for hair and makeup and Mark brought in a delicious lunch and drinks for us. We did our after party at the bar in Butter. Honestly Carol and Mark made the whole weekend that much more special and I can't thank them enough. We can't want to return! read more

Loved staying here over the holiday break. The hosts were super helpful and cheerful too, the king sized bed contributed to one of the best nights of sleep I've had in a long time, and the breakfast was superb, they were happy to make my girlfriend and I anything on their breakfast menu. Got the banana pancakes and bacon, superb!! Also a lovely stream in the back near the lot and conveniently located to many areas of attraction in the poconos area. After reading some reviews here, I knew I had to get the Grilled Blue Tomato. We loved it. Also great was the Crab Bisque, though my daughter was wishing there would be more chunks of crab in it. The Crab Cakes entree was very good, too, with excellent mashed potato and veggies. The crab cake sandwich was good because it's the same crab cake with the same dipping sauce as the entree, but for much less money. You don't even need to eat the bread! But if you insist on the mashed potatoes and veggies, go for the entree. The decor here is warm and cozy. I was only a little miffed that the place was completely packed, and while there are only 11 or 12 tables in the main dining room, there was only one waitress, and she doubled as the bartender. The only back-up she had was the hostess. They were both lovely, and effective as hell...could hardly have done any better. Still, another server on the floor, or even a bartender, would have made a difference for prime time. The place has a pretty long history, as summarized in the drinks menu. It was nice to walk upstairs and look around. We checked out some of the rooms that had doors wide open, too. Very cool. read more

We had a terrible dining experience the night before at another establishment so we needed a wonderful experience and great food to make up for it -- and this places did it! We made early dinner reservations as we had kids with us. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive - particularly with our young ones. The menu is quite diverse - with you wishing to order basically everything. Our apps - crab bisque, scallops and duck spring rolls - were so delicious that the kids couldn't keep their hands off the dishes. The kids' entrees were regular "kid fare" yet cooked in-house to perfection and in a healthy fashion (thank YOU!); so naturally, I had some chicken fingers too and the fries were to die for. We ordered rack of lamb and their famous crab cake - simply delicious. All this was topped off by their Bee Sting cake and really yummy fresh brewed coffee. So hooray for this place!! A very nice restaurant which is well needed in the area. We ate without a reservation on a Sun night. Great wine list, carefully chosen. We had the Brussels Sprouts Shareables. They were lightly crispy, well flavored and delicious. I has the Seafood Imperial, which was surprisingly good. The entire entree consisted of the baked seafood and vegetables. We found Frogtown Inn on Groupon, and I am so glad we did! We came to the area for an anniversary getaway. We arrived late on a Friday night. We did have to stand in the lobby for quite a while before anyone helped us, but one of the owners (I believe?) offered us drinks from the bar, so that made up for it a little. Bryon, another owner, was the one who checked us in and oriented us to the B&B. He was very kind and friendly. Our room was large, and the king size bed was very comfortable. There was plenty of room for our luggage without it feeling cluttered. Our room had its own mini heater and window AC unit, which was wonderful because we were able to control our room temp (not always possible in a B&B). Our private bathroom was great too, and there was a flat screen TV with cable and plenty of channels. No fridge or microwave in the room but they were available in a common area. One of the only few downsides to the room was that the window AC unit was not sealed up so we had a wasp in our room...and it's an old farmhouse so you pretty much heard everything (traffic outside, loud kids in the next room, and screaming people in the room below). I wouldn't say it was loud, but that was a bit of a turn off. We had drinks in the bar, and the bartender was great but some of the other guests were horribly loud and drunk. I suppose that comes with the territory, but if you're expecting everyone to be nice and quiet, change your expectations. It seemed like a loud of rowdy younger people came to stay here. (I'm 25, so I'm not just an older person who hates young people lol.) The restaurant - AMAZING. Wow. Can't say enough good about it. The crab bisque and crab imperial - I cannot stop thinking about them because it was all so delicious. I have never had crab that good before. Hubby had the strip steak and loved it. I got the chef's pasta and the house red sauce was super flavorful. They add veggies like zucchini and squash, which makes the pasta lighter than if it were all pasta. We had the best waiter, who comped our dessert for us when he found out it was our anniversary, and he brought it out to us with a lit candle on it. So sweet and really made our night. (It was the pb pie. Seriously so good. Not too rich but still sweet and delicious. Perfect for splitting.) So glad we decided to celebrate at the restaurant! The breakfast is made to order for you in the saloon, so you get your own drinks at the bar, and then a waitress takes your order for whatever you want - eggs, pancakes, bagels, french toast, bacon, sausage, home fries, etc. Really good! Definitely a treat compared to other B&B's that do continental and buffet breakfasts. Overall this was amazing and the perfect stay for us for our anniversary. The only downsides were related to the room as mentioned and that it was near impossible to check in and out. We waited for about ten minutes to check out but no one ever showed up, so we just left. I also found the woman I spoke to on the phone about my reservation, Kara I believe, to be kind of rude. But when I got there, all of the staff was wonderful, and all of the good things way make up for the few, small inconveniences there were. Definitely stay here if you're in the area! Didn't know you needed a reservation.. Oops. But they let us in anyway, and boy is my belly glad they did!!!! First let's start with the atmosphere. You can choose from the saloon or the dining room. If you know Jason and I, we chose the saloon. It was dark, personal, and rustic looking with wood anywhere they could put it. The hostess left us with a drink menu and a regular menu. While looking over both I could help but I've hear the music selection, and it was very pleasant classic rock. Secondly their win list was short, but had everything you could want. Being the classy lady that I am, I ordered a glass of Beringer white zienfindale. Jason started off with a magic hat number nine, which he graduated to a "Frogtown Black and Tan" (they use Yards). For our appetizer we got a chicken and spinach fritatta. The FILO dough was cooked to perfection, and it was served with a sour cream and dill sauce. Then we chose our dinners. Jason got Pasta Primevara, and I got the Chicken Marsala with rosoto and a squash spaghetti. His pasta was cooked perfectly. The plate presentation was impeccable and the bruschetta on top tastes like it was made just an hour ago. My Marsala was creamy and tangy, just how it should be. The rosto was finished with Parmesan cream and black pepper. The spaghetti squash was paired perfectly with fresh crushed garlic and fresh pepper. For our dessert I ordered the peanut butter mousse pie, and Jason got their key lime pie. The key lime was tart and sour, just how it should be. My peanut butter mousse pie was impeccable with a chocolate ganache on top. Both deserts melted in your mouth, and you wanted to take them both home to use in the bed room. Our waiter, Jon, was friendly, personal, and kept the drinks flowing (if you are ever my waiter, you know that is the way to my heart). He was well dressed, suggested items based on our liking, and was completely honest with us. This place is truly worth the drive even if we were staying in the mountains for the weekend. Menu has lots of tempting options! I ordered the special on Friday 6/12: crab stuffed filet of sole. Cooked nicely. Dessert: peanut butter pie. The kitchen cut it in half for us making it easier to split as planned. Best part of the evening was our server Jess (or Jesse). Friendly, attentive, not pushy, pleasant, brought out extra lemon wedges we asked for and had kitchen split the other folks' desserts too. All around a great dining experience. read more

Wow! What a little gem! The restaurant is charming, the service is spectacular, and the food is delicious! After my parents dined here, they were so happy they insisted we try it. I'm so glad we did because it was a wonderful experience. We started with some spring rolls that were crispy, flavorful, and unique. My husband had the steak with mushroom sauce, which he raved about. I had the stuffed portobello mushroom and shrimp scampi. Their risotto is creamy and flavorful and perfectly delightful. The scampi sauce was so good, I wanted to pour it over everything! The only thing that wasn't absolutely remarkable was the cheesecake. Don't get me wrong- it was still good, but compared to the rest of the spectacularly outstanding food, it fell short of expectations. The Frogtown Inn is EASILY my favorite restaurant in the area. My husband and I have been there numerous times for various reasons, and we are never disappointed. Joy (the hostess) and Steve (the chef) are the owners, and they really take pride in all that the Frogtown does, and it shows! They are also two of the friendliest people you'll ever meet! Frogtown has started to do wine pairing dinners, and I cannot even begin to explain how awesome they are. The food they choose to serve with each wine is perfect. I can't put my finger on my favorite meal from here, as they have all been so delicious. I love their tuna. Their soups are always fantastic. The owners used to live in Maryland, so they are excellent at making crab dishes. Joy has made some fantastic desserts too! I was there awhile ago when they had a guest chef come in, from the Casino Theatre in Mount Pocono, and that was a really cool experience. I am telling you, the food cannot be beat here. You can't go wrong. I just wish it wasn't such a drive for us to get there! They are also very into presentation, which I appreciate! Everything always looks so scrumptious when it comes out. We HIGHLY recommend Frogtown! Also great for small parties! The wait staff is consistently the best wait staff in the Poconos. Oh, and they are a bed and breakfast!! We stayed there a couple of years ago to celebrate our anniversary and before we went up to bed, Joy took our breakfast orders, and when we came down in the morning (we were the only ones staying over that night), there was a table set for us and full of tea, fruit, breakfast sides, and our pancake order! Recently ate here on New Years eve and could not have imagined a more perfect meal. The crab cake and crab bisque are as good as any I've had and the rack of lamb was to die for. The food is superb but the wait staff is even better. They are well staffed with attentive and INFORMED waiters/waitresses who know what a wait staff should - what and oh ow the food is prepared. I know, sounds like captain obvious but there's nothing more annoying (except for poor food quality of course) than going to a nice restaurant and being served by a wait staff who don't care enough to learn about the food they are serving. This really is a don't miss if your staying in the Poconos - I live in NYC but summer nearby and this restaurant is as good as many of the upper tier restaurants in Manhattan. read more

I was looking for a place to stay for the weekend when I took my boyfriend skiing in the Poconos. When I was doing my research, a Living Social deal appeared for the Frogtown Inn and Six Acres Restaurant. From my first phone call, to the last goodbye, I was delighted with quality of service and accomodations. I booked the reservation back in November and since then, the Inn has changed owners. My reservation happened to be the one weekend they were undergoing rennovations. They called me to make sure I was aware of that and also to let me know the restaurant would be closed because of it, as well. Everything ended up working out even better than anticipated: we ended up eating at their sister restauranr, the Frogtown Chophouse which provided excellent service, food, and charm, and had the whole Inn practically to ourselves. Saturday night, we had a long day of skiing and wanted to relax - even though the saloon area wasn't technically opened, they put on the fire, provided wine glasses, and let us enjoy a cozy evening by the fire. The new owners are very friendly and are bringing in a fresh twist on a quaint country getaway. The breakfast and grounds were both tended to by the inn keeper who was super patient and accomodating. The housekeeper was, as well. We had a great weekend away and we can't wait to go back and see the rennovations completed! Booked Frogtown Inn which was very reasonably priced and only 5 min drive up the road to Skytop! Very convenient! The hosts were incredible! Breakfast was so good! Loved my omelette! Fruits were fresh and crisp and mmmmmm the coffeeee! Perfection! The bed was so perfect! I fell asleep and woke up feeling like I was on a cloud! This restaurant is fabulous in every way. The service was wonderful, the hostess and waiter checked in on us as needed and always refilled our glasses. The food was delicious as well. My husband and I shared the duck spring rolls and mussels with Dijon bacon sauce, which were both amazing. We got extra rolls to dip in the Dijon sauce it was that good. For our entrees my husband got the imperial seafood, which was rich and creamy and I got the tuna with sesame and soy ginger sauce which was super fresh. The mash potato and risotto sides were also delicious. We were too full for dessert but they sounded great as well. The ambience was romantic as was the music playing. My in-laws have a house at Skytop (right up the road from Frog Town Inn) so we are up in the Poconos frequently. We typically eat at home because dining options in the area are very limited if you want anything good. However, about a year ago, my mother in law said they had gone to the FTI and it was fantastic, so my husband and I decided to give it a try. BOY were we surprised! FTI is a true culinary gem hidden in the Pocono Mountains. We go there every time we are up now. My favorite dish is the scallops with risotto- to DIE for! I also love their spanikopita appetizer. My husband loves their "steak and cake"- about a 6 oz. filet with a crabcake. We also had a frozen grasshopper dessert there this past summer, which was a mint ice cream pie- delicious! My girlfriend and I were desperately in need of a getaway from NYC, and we happened upon a Groupon for the Frogtown Inn. It was a great deal for the time of year, so we jumped on in. I'm so glad we did. Joy greeted us at the desk and was incredibly friendly and pleasantly sassy. She gave us a few pointers about the Inn, the town, and some sights nearby, then showed us to our room. The suite was delightfully quaint (as was the rest of the inn) and included an incredibly comfortable King sized bed, a side room with a stuffed chair and a love seat, and two bathrooms. I can't say for certain, but I'd be willing to bet we had the best room in the place. It was perfect. The Inn also has a dining room (which was closed because we were visiting earlier in the week) and the Saloon, where they serve their complimentary Continental breakfast. Breakfast consisted of mixed fresh fruit, a variety of cereals, bagels, and yogurt, as well as fresh orange juice and coffee. As lovely as the Inn itself is, the real gem is the surrounding grounds. The front porch is the perfect spot for a smoke and a glass of wine (which Joy dutifully delivered to us without us even asking,) there's a beautiful garden and frog pond on one side of the Inn, and last but certainly not least is the lovely babbling brook with a handful of hand made wooden chairs. My girlfriend and I spent hours just sitting by the brook talking, laughing, and enjoying the solitude. The town is small but has everything you need, including several restaurants, a bowling alley and a CVS drug store. There's also a State Park nearby, where we spent a few hours hiking. Overall, if you're looking for some peace and quiet, you can't do better than Frogtown. Joy and Steve are everything you expect from the proprietors of a charming Bed & Breakfast. The Frogtown Inn is a terrific find in the Poconos, a region that is becoming more built up and full of chain establishments. Steve and Joy run a lively, historic 3 floor home with excellent service to all of their guests. Each room has a private bath, TV, WiFi and plenty of outlets. Windows open for a cool breeze. Breakfast, included with your room fee, is the best! With Steve in the kitchen and Joy on the floor, you can choose from omelets, home fries, pancakes, breakfast meats, perfectly ripe fresh fruit, and home baked breads. Hot food is piping hot and perfectly seasoned and presented. A WOW every day. Do not expect a modern place; this is an historic building. But everything works, the charm in decoration is there, and the personality of hosts and guests make this a must stay for singles, couples or family groups. Thank you Joy and Steve! read more

Reservations NEEDED! Happy I called before. Absolutely delectable. Our waitress Suzanne served us both times we have been there. If you would like the best server in the entire place, please ask for her. She was super nice and attentive to our needs throughout our dinner. We also all had a great conversation with her after as well. All of the food is well priced for the quantity and quality. Just a tidbit of information from the chef himself - everything is homemade except for their ice cream. My steak was cooked to perfection and the Parmesan risotto was perfectly cooked. Not too mushy and not too hard. Their crab bisque is to die for. It is an absolute must to order. Has this awesome basil oil that tops it. Place itself is like a little old house with two separate dining rooms. Has a really cool western vibe to it as well. Great restaurant to go to if you are staying at Skytop. After eating all of their delicious food, save room for desert please because their deserts are TO DIE FOR! read more

Love this little gem! Food and service are both impeccable. We started with the ahi tuna for appetizer which was so fresh! I had the New York Strip with the bacon cream sauce and shrimp and it was simply amazing! The roasted mashed potatoes are delicious ... the selection of wines and drinks is also great!
