The website is very deceiving - beware!! We arrived for our mini moon weekend getaway at Naomi Village Spa. We purchased the honeymoon package which includes champagne, chocolates and an hour couple massage. Upon entering the office we were greeted by a very nice lady named Rose. During check in we had to wait approximately 20 minutes while the room was being cleaned (this was 7:45PM) and the key was located. We were given the key to room 14 in the birch-wood suite. We drove through the un-kept wooded area and arrived at our room. We entered, hoping that the inside of the room would be much better than the run down outside. Before we even opened the door the smell of must permeated through to the outside area. The inside was even worse. The rugs appeared to be from the 40's with multiple cigarette holes, the kitchen fridge buzzed louder than the bugs that surrounded the "suite", the bed was inspected for bed bugs (which none were found), the filter in the air conditioner appeared to have NEVER been changed, the bathroom was so gross that my husband wouldn't even stand over the toilet to urinate, the chocolates had a CVS tag on them with a clearance sticker for 9.99 and the cheap champagne was never put on ice. We sat pondering what to do for about 2 whole min. and then decided to ask for our money back. When we arrived back at the office the place was locked down. Thank goodness that Rose had given us her cell phone number. A quick call was made requesting our money back. My husband asked why our room did not look like what was advertised on line and Rose offered us to get us that room! WTH, why weren't we given that room in the first place? Rose immediately returned to the office and refunded my money in full. I would have given this review 0 stars had it not been for the 100% refund and the courtesy of the Rose. I would not spend my money at this place unless you are looking for someplace to get bit by insects in the middle of the night and smell of must in the morning. We ended up going to Paradise Stream (just 5 min. away) - spending 300$ more for an ALL INCLUSIVE stay and was treated like royalty. This is the place to be in the Poconos! read more

I thought this place was going to be in the middle of nowhere, but it is very near civilization. That's not always a bad thing though, and our cottage had a nice back porch that looked out on the woods and a small pond. The cottage could have slept 6, had a kitchen, and a living room with a fireplace. The furniture and decor could use a little updating. Seems like a good place for a family or group of friends. Do not visit this place. Read the other reviews ... old, out of date. Not very clean. Worth a $50 night stay but thats about it. We went into the cottage/hut. Looked at each other and both said lets go get a refund. Thankfully they did not put up any objections and gave us a full refund. Fair play to them. So we cannot judge on the spa treatmenta as we couldnt bring ourselves to gt that far. I dont thi k the fact it had snowed helped and that they didnt plow their drive so we had to dig out car out. read more

Do not stay here. I too, read these reviews and thought, well, Mom already booked the place and I don't want to seem like a hysteric and maybe it'll be different. It was not. Luckily, having been warned by the reviews, I did not take any luggage out of the car. I went in, simply pulled the fitted sheet off the bed, and lol and behold, Bugville. They didn't argue about refunding the money (I had pictures) and in an even more fortunate move we found accommodations even better for the same price 15 minutes away at Pocono Manor. We booked having never been to the Poconos. The owner immediately started to upswell everything, and it felt like a lot of wheeling and dealing. The cable was out, the DVD player didn't work, there were spiders and hair in the in-room soaker spa tub, the floor was slippery and there were only two towels, and the owner husband did everything he could to try to connect the DVD player at 10:30 p.m. Plus, it was damp, dark, and everything smelled like mold. My daughter had to use her allergy medication from the dank smell. The locals at the diner had a good laugh about hitting the dregs if we were staying at Naomi Village. We did not even stay out second night because my daughter said it felt like the kind of place where you would get murdered..."it was a dark and stormy night..." We forfeited our second night for $109, so they essentially got $230 for one night in this place. We won't ever ignore a bad Yelp review again. read more

Seriously, if you can book somewhere else do it. The cabins were old 1960s cabins however they were clean. On Saturday I found a mouse in the pool he was not doing the backstroke. On Friday when we checked in the first half and we were in had a tear in the roof and was getting ready to fall in and no screen in the door. If they moved us to another cabin the gutters were overflowing with water so I got soaked going into the room turn to the right and the window is leaking and there was a puddle all over the living room floor the stuff while cordial and attempting to be helpful has their hands tied by a stingy owner. My rating is not so much for the quality of rooms as it is for the customer service. We were told that we would receive breakfast each morning delivered to our room (included in the cost) between 9:30-10:30. We waited until 10:45 and our breakfast never came. When I called the front desk the person didn't seem to remember that I had ordered breakfast from her the night before. I had also arranged for fire logs and wine to be waiting in the room for us. Neither had been placed there and they were completely out of the wine I had requested weeks ago. The office was also constantly locked, even though it was supposed to be open from 8am-9pm every night. So it was difficult to get ahold of anyone. Though I didn't mind the quality of the cottages, they DEFINITELY were not worth the price we paid for it. Dirty, sink leaked, smelled a little. If you're looking for a place worth it's cost in the Poconos, LOOK ELSEWHERE. read more

Honestly, If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I made a reservation and cancelled immediately and three weeks later I still haven't received my refund. The staff at this place is incredibly unprofessional. The phones often go unanswered. After sending them numerous emails and calling them several times and being reassured that I'd get my money back within 2 or 3 days and not actually getting it - I can't help but feel exasperated at this behavior. DO NOT STAY HERE. Besides the absolute WORST customer service and front desk woman who was condescending, lazy, rude and incredibly unhelpful, the place is FILTHY. Upon entering our cabin, the stench of musk and mildew was overwhelming. The bathroom had about 15 giant dead spiders and insects everywhere. Everything was covered in dust and clearly had not been cleaned in months. There were holes in the window siding so bugs were flying in all night long which was awful. The receptionist promised us unlimited "Starbucks" coffee and amenities like breakfast delivered to your door between 9:30 and 10:30. At 10:30 we still were waiting. There was no coffee. We complained and 15 minutes later a woman brought us a coffee box with nasty coffee. I found old moldy coffee in the coffee maker,and had to clean every glass and utensil because they were dirty. Breakfast was "running late" and we got it around 11. It was cold and the food was terrible. When we checked out we clearly complained and the same women who promised to email us directions earlier and never did send them was THE WORST PERSON I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. After lecturing us on how to stay in a hotel in the future ("because you guys are young") that we would receive no compensation for the awful stay. She feigned surprise at every complaint and told us that she would give us the owner's direct line and then backtracked and said the owner didn't have a direct line. She began to stand up and get in our face an talk over us and told us we can't get anywhere if we talk over each other. The problem was we were calm and patient and she relentlessly kept us from finishing a sentence. This place may have been nice 25 years ago, but their website is misleading about what sort of "resort" they are. Everything was filthy, overgrown an the service was APPALLING. Do yourself a favor and spend the $189/nt at a Travelodge. read more

The place was great no mildew the staff was fantastic. We had a family reunion & nobody had a problem with there cabins. We've been going for the last few years & we always have a great time. I am giving this place 1 star because it is in desperate need of updating. All of the furniture in our cabin was old and musty smelling. The mattress sunk in the middle. The carpet was sticky, filthy, and had burn marks all over it. The least they could do is change the carpets or get rid of them completely. However, the cottage was as clean as it could be considering that everything was completely worn out. I think the cleaning lady here does a great job. At least the sheets were clean. We woke up to a wasp, giant centipede, and huge black spider crawling on the floor in the morning. I understand that it's in the woods, but they could find a way to prevent this. I was expecting the bug infestation after seeing the huge cob webs all over the check-in area. Besides this, our stay here was just ok. The best part of the cabin was the private porch and jacuzzi tub. Also, they deliver complimentary breakfast to your door. I ordered a western omelet and it was a bit too greasy...but it was edible. Also, the cabins only have one dingy lock on the front door. They could at least put a chain on the door for some added security. I didn't feel safe at night and had a hard time sleeping because of it. Everyone that works here was very friendly and accommodating. I think the great staff here made the unattractive and dilapidated cabin more tolerable. This place has potential to be great, but it needs a lot of work. I felt like I had time warped back into 1985 when I stayed here. A fresh paint job, new carpet, an exterminator, and affordable Ikea furniture would do wonders for Naomi Village. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE! If you made reservations, cancel NOW. The place was dirty, dated and no surprise, we found BEDBUGS. Linoleum floors ripped. Bathroom dirty. Mattresses stained. This used to be a beautiful place 20 years ago but is now corporate owned and horrible. Someone said Twilight Zone meets Bates motel, right on! Keep driving. No problem on the refund, the woman at the front desk was very nice. Don't believe the pics you see on the website, the cabins inside look nothing like it. The cabin wasn't even cleaned and check in was 12 meanwhile we arrived with our family at 2pm. There was a rancid smell of mold through out the entire cabin. It was unbearable. They brought us a grill that was completely dirty with bugs. Bugs all through the cabin and draws and beds were wet. The place is dated, which would not be that bad if it was kept up. Our "driveway" had a dumpster in it that said "No Parking". There was moss and decay all around the outside of the building and that inside had that "oh, there is mold hiding in here smell". This was not good money for value at all. read more

It is a shame since the cottages are nice but they will take your money and run. We stayed for the weekend and about two days after we left I found multiple duplicate charges on my account. Stayed here with my two kids for three nights. It was our first time in the Poconos so we asked the manager for assistance in finding some places we wanted to visit. She was very helpful in giving us directions and pointed us out to the factory outlets and a few popular restaurants. We ended up going to a different one, but it was nice knowing how attentive they were. We also needed extra towels and they quickly came by and dropped them off for us. A quick tip- the candy factory was pretty close by and my kids loved it. The cottages were a bit old, but overall they were clean and comfortable. I would come here again in the future, possibly in the winter time for skiing. read more

I used stay at these cabins practically everyone of them back in the 70's, we really enjoyed a 2 hour trip to this location then. Over the years we continued to stay here and it was still owned and operated by The Reese Family even in the 80's and it was nice, but even then it was outdated, dark and some what dingy. I stayed again in 2007 which was our last trip, and the conditions of the cabin was deplorable, things really got bad. Filthy old original wall paper and old vinyl flooring from decades ago, soft spots in the flooring where the floor was sinking not to mention the mold around most of the jetted tubs where the mirror meets the tub, really disguising. These cabins are strictly rented out for profit only, no matter how run down. Forget updating things as I saw in my 2007 trip  things only got patched or just simply neglected all together. I remember a few trips due to raccoons in the attic, and in another cabin had a leaky roof and another time the fridge broke so we were all moved to other cabins, as I have read some of the other readers have written they too were moved for various reasons. When I look at these recent 2016 & 2017 pictures of what people are posting I say to myself this place has not changed over a course of almost 40 years, they too look like my 70's, 80's, and 2007 pictures. Just from the ratings alone are a tell tale sign to spend your hard earned money elsewhere where you deserve much better. You get what you pay for. read more

Do NOT come here. The carpets had stains, the bed was uncomfortable, the bathroom floor was gross, the TV cabinet was falling apart. Also the WIFI did not work as advertised, it did not work at all!! Also, the door got stuck and wouldn't open. The owner told us that this is a cabin not an apartment so things are not perfect. Please see attached photos. The owner would not give us our money back or even half of it because she said we stayed there and did not complain day of. Mean while we arrived at 9PM after a 3 hour trip to her here. Very good experience. I went with my man for my birthday that he treated me to and loved my experience from beginning to end. We were greeted by the front desk person walking in and she was very nice and accommodating and explained everything so there was no confusion. We had a complementary breakfast every morning we stayed and the breakfast choices are great. Best I ever had going to any place that offers breakfast. The thing is our tv was not working and it was the box that did not work....so what they did was upgrade our room to a jacuzzi room cottage and it was amazing!!!! Free upgrade with jacuzzi with no tension or static??? I'll take it. The only thing is sometimes they don't answer the front desk when you call but I'm still giving them 5 stars because the place was very clean and you get all the things you need such as pots pans plates cups...full kitchen with stove and microwave etc. read more

Me and my boyfriend booked last minute didn't even look at ratings witch is something I do not do cause I'm super picky, but I have to say this was a great choice the owner is super nice she doesn't know much English but she's still the sweetest lady, she got us a cabin with a couples massage and a free facial for me and I couldn't believe the price, after arriving I said to myself ( something has to be off about this place) after getting to our cabin I checked the place up and down and couldn't fine one this nasty about the place it was super clean!!! The out side deck had some stuff on it from the tree above but you're in the woods you can't expect perfect on the out side. After checking out cabin we went for our couples massage and may I say WOW my boyfriend fell asleep and I would have to If it wasn't for his snoring lol it's one lady taking turns on us both she did one hour on each of us it's was the most amazing feeling I have ever had she great!!! WARNING! This place is not as advertised. We were looking to spend a few nights at a resort with a spa, and instead found ourselves at a semi run-down, dirty "cottage" with people who could not speak a lick of English. Breakfast arrived so late (11 am instead of 9:30) that we were about to eat the furniture. When we called to ask where our breakfast, we were told, "This is the reception, not the restaurant; we can't help with that." And they gave us a number to call, but no one answered. We were excited to try to the spa, but ended up with no English directions. When we arrived, a Chinese lady pointed to the hot tub and spoke in Mandarin for five minutes, leaving us clueless. Note: This was our first time trying a spa, and probably our last. Right after we had lied down for the session, a lady comes in and hands us a cell phone, with a Chinese woman who could speak a little bit of English on the other end. She asks where we had left our clothes and backpack - sketchyyyyy! My husband ended up with the female masseuse and I ended up with this big built, strong as an ox Chinese fisherMAN. Massaging is clearly not his primary job! I had to refrain from screaming multiple times as he refused to use lotion while pressing and twisting my skin. After that experience we tried to steer clear of any personnel. At checkout we were invited to return to experience their three-hour tea ceremony. No thanks! As mentioned by others, the main problem here is that Naomi Village's website does not correctly portray the place. If you just need a place to sleep, you'd probably be satisfied. read more

Not accommodating in the least! We spent $300 for a couple's massage and one night stay.. They forgot to call us in the morning to tell us they have neglected to order our special breakfast ( Me and my fiancé are gluten free dairy free ). They told me someone slept late and showed up late. Meanwhile it's a bed and BREAKFAST.. and we had no breakfast. We left in a hurry and we were given a gift certificate for next time..there won't be a next time. The room neglected to be cleaned entirely and the housing there wasn't tolerable either because the toilet barely flushed. The fireplace had no wood and it was raining so we weren't going out to find wet wood..There was old coffee left in the coffee pot (God only knows how long that was sitting there). My husband surprised me with a night away from home for our anniversary and by the looks of the website, Naomi Village would have been great. If the place was updated, it would have been great. If they had working internet in their front office and cottages, it would have been great. If they offered the breakfast they advertised over the phone and on the site, it would have been great. If we didn't have to call maintenance to fix our TV and then still not have more than five stations that worked, it would have been great. If the place didn't smell and look run down and old, it would have been great. The place has potential to be a really GREAT place, but NOTHING is cared for. There was something stuck (probably food from the guests before) to the comforter and the silverware and plates were never cleaned. At least they included dish soap and a new sponge. Oh and they thought they were upgrading us by moving us from a pet friendly cottage (both of us have allergies) to one where they didn't have pets stay. Really? Upgrade? Hardly. No one was there when we checked out either, but I guess that's why you pay up front at check in because the owner or front desk receptionist show up whenever. You also get charged $50 for cancelling? Five dollars for logs? Among other random up charges on random things that for the price we paid for our one night should have been included. We will NEVER go back and it was definitely an experience. read more

We love the setting of this resort. Only two hours drive from NYC immediately transport us to private mountain resort . We stayed in one of cozy cottage with fireplace and double jacuzzi with view of meadow. The surrounding is so peaceful and its very private. One of our favorite thing to do have breakfast on the porch follow by leisure walk to nearby shops. The food is outstanding and the staff are very friendly. They have a very attractive golf & spa package and we will definitely come back for that with some friends. read more

This was the worst place I have ever stayed at. Was there for a family wedding. Rose (the event coordinator) was the worse. It was a wedding from hell thanks to Naomi Village and Rose. Thanks to family and friends that made it a beautiful day for the couple. The hall were the wedding took place was not decorated. Family decorated everything Rose and owner bought plastic champagne glasses at 4:00 pm at Walmart for a reception that was to take place at 5. There are many places in the Poconos that are much nicer than this. NOT WORTH MONEY OR TIME. Since I've been here with family before, I knew what to expect. My cottage was nice and cozy, like it was the last time. The rooms were clean and the service was adequate. Complimentary breakfast is delivered a little late in the morning and, to my knowledge, is from by a nearby restaurant. Since Naomi Village is in the Poconos, it's pretty easy to find local attractions depending on what you're interested in. Overall, I definitely enjoyed my stay. Naomi Village could work on their presentation but for the price, it's great option for people on a budget. Also, their website seems quite outdated so you should probably call them first if you have any questions on what they offer. read more

I want to start by saying DO NOT COME HERE. Upon arriving at the front desk at check-in there was nobody there and after a few calls we were assisted. We rented two cottages and immediately upon entering one of our cottages since the door to the second one didn't open, the place smelled of mold, the bedrooms look like out of a horror film with burn marks on the disgusting bed covers and there was dusk swept underneath the mats in the bathroom. We originally decided to ask if we could cancel one room and bare the night due to their ridiculous pricing for a spider hole ($545 for one night for two small cottages/ $272 a night per cottage with 4 beds) The front desk was nice and told us we would just pay a $50 cancellation fee for one of the rooms which we were fine with. THEN the owner stormed into our cottage telling us "there is no canceling and I am the boss and I make all the decisions here" and interrogating us with questions about how many people we plan to have to force us to keep a room. After dealing with the owner we immediately decided to leave and demand a full refund and she refused saying we can dispute this with the credit card companies raising her voice multiple times and looking at me as if she wanted to hit me and demanded $100 for cancellation(50 per room). After she did not want to deal with us she apparently called her "manager" after she just told us she makes all the decisions. We looked at the house together it was decided we should not have to pay the $50 cancellation fee for one room and she still scammed us out of $50. The staff was nice and understanding but the owner(trust me you will know who this lady is) was a nightmare. What she didn't understand is that we realize it is an inconvenience to them and would have bared a single night but it was the way we were treated which made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. Website looked very nice, but turned out the website was very deceiving. To start off when we went to check in the woman asked if we were told it was a pet friendly cabin, we were not. I had a bad feeling about that and when we got to the cabin I was right. The carpet was ripped in several places and had a bad smell. It looked nothing like the website. It was very old and outdated. We told them there would be 3 of us but when we got to the room they gave us the cabin with 1 bed. We had to put the child on a small cot that we had to pull out of the closet. Luckily we brought sheets which we placed on the furniture, the only way we felt comfortable sitting on it. It was clean as it could be for how old it is, looks like it has not be updated for over 20 years. Checkout time on the website said 1, on the door it said 12, but we were told be had to be out by 11am. That was fine because we did not want to stay any longer than needed. Was not even remotely worth what we paid. Would rather sleep in tent than here, at least the tent would be cleaner. read more
