The mattress with an active colony of "whatever".

Do not stay here. I too, read these reviews and thought, well, Mom already booked the place and I don't want to seem like a hysteric and maybe it'll be different. It was not. Luckily, having been warned by the reviews, I did not take any luggage out of the car. I went in, simply pulled the fitted sheet off the bed, and lol and behold, Bugville. They didn't argue about refunding the money (I had pictures) and in an even more fortunate move we found accommodations even better for the same price 15 minutes away at Pocono Manor. There were lots of other problems I could go into, but it's not necessary, listen to me and your fellow humans who have stayed here and cancel your reservation now!

Do not . And I mean do not still stay if you have a reservation .. Please refund it you won't regret it .. Worse place ever period .......

Dead mouse in pool left unattended
    John L.

Seriously, if you can book somewhere else do it. The cabins were old 1960s cabins however they were clean. On Saturday I found a mouse in the pool he was not doing the backstroke. On Friday when we checked in the first half and we were in had a tear in the roof and was getting ready to fall in and no screen in the door. If they moved us to another cabin the gutters were overflowing with water so I got soaked going into the room turn to the right and the window is leaking and there was a puddle all over the living room floor the stuff while cordial and attempting to be helpful has their hands tied by a stingy owner. Go elsewhere.

There's so much to be said about the Frogtown Inn. To sum it up succinctly, EVERYTHING was…read morefantastic. The owners Mark and Carol were more than accommodating, and they made us feel very welcome during our weekend getaway. The room was spotless and super cozy. We honestly got the best sleep ever as the beds were super comfortable. The included satellite TV service was a nice touch, as we were able to watch some good shows while unwinding from our day. The included breakfast was absolutely fantastic. Everything was super fresh and it screamed top quality ingredients. I had gotten the special with truffle and asparagus with home fries and it was VERY good. My lady had scrambled eggs with sausage patties, blueberry pancakes, home fries toast and she loved it as well. That same night we had dinner in the restaurant named Butter, and it was such a treat. The menu is extensive enough to have a variety of options without being overbearing. Dinner was just as amazing as breakfast, and EVERYTHING we had was top tier. We got a Tokyo Mule, the Sidecar, The Margarita Flatbread, the Lobster Campanelle, the Horseradish Crusted Salmon, a Nutty Irish dessert cocktail and an Espresso Martini alongside a dessert (I can't remember which one we shared). We devoured absolutely everything we had. Portions were generous and the flavors were out of this world. Customer service on the restaurant side was also very good. Do note that dinner isn't included in your stay, but I HIGHLY recommend trying the restaurant. Aside from all of the above, I can't overstate how good the customer service was here. Mark and Carol really made this place feel like a second home. The decor also gives that feeling, and it all culminates to being one of the best places I've ever stayed. Don't hesitate. Highly recommended!

Super fun and tasteful decor! Also very warm and welcoming inside as they had the fireplace lit with candles. We were instantly greeted by name and was offered a complementary champagne toast and dessert for saying we were celebrating! We ordered homemade ricotta & bruschetta, both of us got the porck chops, and split the cranberry creme brulee. It was one of the best meals we've both had. We are dreaming about that pork chop, had such delicious flavor, juicy, and decent portions! The mushroom sauce was also super flavorful with the mashed potatoes cooked perfectly. Our waitress was very personable and attentive to us as well. She made small talk and seemed very interested in our day. We would love to consider this place for rehearsal dinner when we have our big wedding in a couple years! Awesome food and place!!!

Brookview Manor Inn - Enjoy rocking on the porch

    Brookview Manor Inn

AVOID THIS DISASTROUS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!…read more During our stay, we have not seen the owner, housekeeper, or anyone who works at the Inn at all, in any way, shape, or form whatsoever - including at checkin and checkout. In fact, they instituted a "contactless" check-in and check-out where a code is texted to your phone to access the room. We are unsure why anyone would choose to work in the hospitality industry if they are so keen on avoiding any contact with their guests. It made the experience feel cold, impersonal, and frankly eerie, as if we checked into a haunted house. Usually, the best part of staying in a bed and breakfast is the breakfast. Unfortunately, that was the worst part here. The hotel said that due to "light construction," they won't be serving any hot breakfast but would offer what they claimed would be a "continental breakfast." In reality, this consisted of Folgers Keurig K-cups, store-bought bagels in a plastic bag, defrosted boxes of Jimmy Dean sandwiches (which should be stored in a freezer but was stored in a fridge instead), and a few travel size cereal boxes. It is important to note that they didn't have any milk available for the cereal, nor did they have any regular sugar (only Splenda). These offerings are nowhere near adequate to be considered a continental breakfast. We wound up eating out at a local diner instead. Also, there were no signs of there being any construction, so the lack of hot or continental breakfast felt like more of an excuse. There was also a pervasive cigarette stench in the room. Our room was listed as "smoke-free" and also had "thank you for not smoking" signs in the room. However, there was a cigarette stench so pervasive throughout the entire room that we resorted to opening the windows in 20 degree weather to attempt to get the stench out - to no avail. It made my clothes smell like cigarettes even when I got back home. Speaking of not having any contact with the inn staff, we also ran into several issues that needed housekeeping to address. There was a phone number listed to call for but no one ever bothered to pick up, so you are left to fend for yourself: First, the shower in our room was not working. The guests next door were kind enough to come in and figure out the problem. Additionally, we needed more towels and bar soap for the sink, which they never bothered to replenish because housekeeping is nowhere to be found. They also never provided any tissues in the room. Finally, the mattress was as hard as a rock which wound up hurting my back. Because of the mattress and because I could hear everything from next-door and upstairs guests, I got essentially no sleep during my stay. It is truly tragic and a shame just how far downhill the Brookview Manor has gone. It is abundantly clear that the inn was in its heyday when Marty and Gaile owned it. There is an old notepad with notes from prior guests, thanking Marty and Gaile for their hospitality and excellent cooking over the years. Our experience could not have been further away from that with the new owner.
