First time going to this fruit stand in Breaux Bridge. Really loved the watermelon as the flavor, reminded me of summer's in the early eighties, as the seeds were still there. Great service. Could be cleaner but nice selection of fruit and the crawfish aroma made you want to order at least 5 pounds. read more

Well, this stop for fresh fruit, as in the name, and vegetables, strawberry daiquiri, blended strawberry smoothie, were somewhat confusing for this out of towner. My Bestie encouraged me and hubby to visit The Fruitstand for all things local. We did so after leaving the Crawfish Festival! I am totally here for trying new and local and excited to do so. However, walking into the front cashier to order a strawberry smoothie, and strawberry daiquiri to our surprise was told, with a glowing smile I must add, that all orders were placed in the fruit stand and picked up here at the bar. The fruit stand was located through another door or walk outside and enter from the side entrance into the fruit stand. Not an impressive. Not the cleanest fruit stand. Fruit Flies are calling the place home. There's an unlimited supply of empty bottles and dust. But the parrot is absolutely beautiful propped near the entrance to the fruit stand. Not only can you buy a variety of fresh whole fruits, corn, zucchini, cucumbers, tomato, greens, so many other vegetables. Purchase daiquiris here, other drinks, boiled crawfish, boiled shrimp, boiled blue crab, burgers, fried frog legs, fries, and raw crabs and crawfish by the bag, much more. The locals were extremely friendly. Talking enthusiastically while waiting in line. Hinting that if I'm here, I must be here for the boiled crawfish! Ha! Continuing, husband said his strawberry daiquiri was extra fruity and lite on rum. My smoothie was ok. Perhaps do as the locals, order boiled crawfish and beer! Eat in or take order to go. Got boiled crabs Saturday. They were water logged and mushy. I do not recommend getting boiled crabs. Hardly had any meat skeleton.

So I bought a baby white bunny at 3:30 in the afternoon and I had it with me all day monitoring it giving food and water making for sure it was well took care of and at 8 at night I looked over and my bunny wasn't moving it's dead and I am really sad I do not recommend this place for buying animals and they guy I spoke to was very rude when I told him what happened he said welp looks like you'll have to buy a new bunny so booooo to this place read more

We were there last night (12/28/2023) to eat boiled crawfish. The size was small, which I don't mind but these were over cooked making them very hard to peel! About 15% of my tray, 5# was just heads!! Some of us needed to go to the restroom, there was some nasty plastic panels that were years of grime on them!! The lady that served us on the side we sat was very friendly and nice. The ambiance left a lot to be desired and it was very cold in there! If the crawfish get more abundant, pick up might be ok, but I don't recommend dining in. read more

The people make this business the best. The food is incredible and the service is always friendly and helpful. The place is very inviting and has a great hometown feel as soon as you drive up. Fruitstand is the best place to get live crabs, shrimp and crawfish. They have fresh veggies and fruit, pecans, alligator, okra, corn, basically everything you could want or need... Mr. Foti is there every day and greets every customer with a smile. They also serve boiled crawfish, boiled crabs, burgers, snow cones, and shakes... let's just say they have a lil bit of everystuff!! They also have souvenirs, livestock feed, fresh pecans... and they even buy your cans to recycle. I absolutely love this place, when I'm home I visit here everyday( Cajuns always need something or want). If you are from out of town or a local, you won't be disappointed with the service and great selection of produce and seafood!!! When I walk into The Fruit Stand, I get frissons! It may be from the smell of the boiling seafood, The Fruit Stand Girls, or knowing that I may actually catch a glimpse of Super Scrap in action! If you dont understand what I'm talking about, do yourself a favor and search Youtube for this place's commercials. Seriously, the boiled seafood is great and reasonably priced for the market. I would've left only one star, but nobody takes those seriously. I'm giving up one for the memory of how they used to be. Just moved to Breaux Bridge, always had lots of friends and family here, always spent lots of time here. Called ahead around 1120 for a carry out lunch order. Showed up at the designated time for pick up, ended up waiting at the counter for 10 minutes. Never saw a soul. Ended up leaving mad. Went back three weeks later, today, to buy fruit. I love that you can enjoy fresh seafood from Foti's Cafe and then walk right next door to do your weekly grocery shopping. We also love to get the seasonal pralines and pecans at the Nut Hut to bring home and make pies with or just to put in jars on our kitchen countertop for snacking. We are from out of town and were looking for king crab while visiting for the crawfish festival! We called at 7:25 to order King Crab Legs to go! Closing time for this location is 8 pm! Even though these crab legs were $20.99 per pound we still ordered 5lbs! The person who answered the phone came back on and said the owner doesn't want to mess with it being we will be closing soon! So sorry for your bad luck and the fact our customer service is terrible, go find what you want else where because even though it is why we are here we aren't going to fulfill your order! Highly disappointed with Foti's market and fruit stand! We settled for Crazy "Bout" Crawfish who did not have King Crab but were more than willing to cook the snow crab we ordered! Went to get live crabs the "large" were in between medium and small, I ordered one dozen " large" for 36.99. I thought about it for a min while looking at their nasty produce and decided to get 2 dozen "mediums" at 17.99 a dozen (there was no size difference between medium and large). When I told the guy in back I'd like 2 dozen "mediums" instead of one dozen "large" he became very irate took the bags ripped it open threw the crabs back in the plastic container and started yelling profanities. While he was bagging up the 2 dozen "mediums" and slamming things I asked him "would you like me to go to another place" he said "yea go the fu*k somewhere else". I've experienced customer disrespect before at places like Taco Bell and Burger King but never at a small establishment like this, that is why I had to go out of my way download the yelp app just to write all this. Went to the fruit stand today and the owner refuse to sell me 3 gallons of propane , yeah that's right . I have never been told if He had to go out there , then I stopped him from what he was going to say and I told him he had a bad review coming . I never have gone there and been refused service . My husband and I were traveling back to North LA from a trip down to New Orleans. We really wanted some local produce/meat/products to bring back home with us. Our hopes were high as we pulled into the parking lot but quickly faded. The produce was not local and not in good condition. All of the produce looked pretty bad but the apples in particular were all soft and deteriorating. There was a buggy piled up with culled produce that smelled horribly and I could have filled up about 10 more carts with produce that should have been pulled off the shelves. We quickly made our way through the produce to the freezers to check out the seafood and were even more disgusted. Most everything was freezer burnt and a LOT of the bags had opened. We opened one door and a bag of frozen fish fell out. My husband picked it up and put in back in as ice crystals were falling out of the bag. His hands smelled so bad like rotten fish that we had to find the restrooms to wash them immediately. And then we made our way out to our car. I laughed at the "world famous" sign as we pulled out. I called for the prices on their sacks of crawfish. I was specifically told, "40 for small, 60 for medium and 80 for large". I was also told that the sacks were 35-40lbs each. My husband drove all the way from Denham Springs to go to this place. After all, what better place to get crawfish than the home of the Crawfish Festival, right? When he gets there, a sack of "select" is pushed off on him for $100 and it weighs 31 lbs. Not EVEN the 35lbs I was originally told. That's right at $3.25/lb for live crawfish, and at Mother's Day weekend, that is obsurd. We don't appreciate making the trip to go there only to be screwed. I called and spoke to, I guess the manager, & explained to him the prices I was originally given and he comes up with "small is 40, small to medium is 60, medium to large is 80 and select is 100". When I told him we didn't ask for select and the large were not even offered, he then says "select is large". Well then, if "select is large" why are you not charging $80/sack like I was originally told. When he realized he'd "stepped in it", he comes up with different pounds/prices to justify what happened, which were totally different then what HE said to begin with. WOW! How about you get all of your people on the same page??? How about you don't screw people out of 20 bucks? That might not seem like much to some, but 20 bucks is 20 bucks and I don't appreciate being told one thing over the phone only to get there and that's not what it is. Your crawfish might be "nice", but your way of doing business is not. We don't mind making a trip to buy something, but we do mind getting screwed. So BUYER BEWARE, unless of course, you don't mind getting screwed. read more
