Had a strange experience with Jenny Was impressed with all the positive reviews but when I left there I was scratching my head in bewilderment. The positives I called at 8:30am to try and get in at ten am when they opened and was called back quickly at got an early appt. Walked in and was greeted and had to wait only a few minutes. She has a Vietnamese accent and this could be all harsh because of the cultural differences but I was taken back. She did a great job washing my hair but then told me I was losing too much hair and did I take vitamins? Then she gallantly wafted her hair around saying how great her hair looks because she takes vitamins. Then she proceeded to ask me how I fixed it and I told her curly and straight and she remarked Rudely that my hair was too thin to be worn straight. Then handed me a mirror to see the back of my hair and mind you my glasses are in my lap because she just washed my hair. She asks me to look at how much she wants to cut off the back and I start to try and look and move the mirror and she yells at me and grabs my hand saying no move your head not the mirror but of course I can't see you because I don't have my glasses on so I have to get my glasses on and I'm flustered now because she's treating me like a child. So I finally figure out how to hold the mirror and move my head the way she wants me to so I can see the back of my hair and she's explaining that she thinks my hair should be cut and 3 inches should be cut off the back and I said sure if that's what you think and she literally said ,"don't interrupt me! ". She wasn't Even talking at that point and I probably should've got up and walked out at that point but I really needed my hair dried. Then later she says she didn't mean to insult me but my hair would look better curled. I walked out of there looking like a 6th grader. It was an awful style and I will NEVER return but just a word of warning. It cost $40 It will take a year for my length to grow back and I will have to apologize to my regular hairdresser who has never insulted me in so many ways. She will gasp when she sees my hair !!! It was like the soup nazi episide from Seinfeld. I was kinda shocked this happened and it felt very surreal. But I have thought about it all week and I think she was just in a bad mood or something. My first time here: I was in search of a haircut on yelp and this page came up. I read the great reviews about Jenny, so I came to try it out. For a reasonable price, the women's hair cut is worth it. I think I made a mistake just coming in for a wet-style cut. Literally, just come in with your hair washed on your own, the cut, and that's it. Even though wet-style cut is cheaper by $10-ish, I wish I had regular women's cut, which includes a wash, cut, and style (straigtening/curling). The ladies Jenny, Tiffany, and whoever would be happy to fix your hair until 100% satisfaction. I had experiences with both Jenny and Tiffany. They are both wonderful but I prefer Tiffany. She understands what I want in my hair more. I have thick hair and I like the more layering that makes my hair thinner and feels lighter. I called in to make an appointment and it was fast. I had a really bad experience with Jenny at this place. Only one word to describe "RUDE". I would not recommend going to see her. She did not know how to use the thermometer. She used it on me And it wouldn't work correctly. I guess she was embarrassed that she doesn't know how to use the thermometer. So she slammed the door in my face and lock the door behind her. I hated this place. I went to go get my roots done and a color fix I wanted to take all orange out of my hair and I left with more orange than what I came in with. The customer service was awful. Each strand of hair she will grave she will pull my head and I've never been in so much pain in a salon. My roots ended up being blue which she had to fix. She still charged me full price and I think it was very overpriced for the work she did. She was very rude and Instead of telling me what's going to with my hair she will tell her worker in her language to go over and help her out and when I asked she seemed as she didn't want to tell me. Instead of asking me to stand up or move my head she will pull me up or move my head aggressively herself. I am fairly new to Dallas and was looking for a nice salon to get a trim. My hair hasn't been cut since I moved to Texas and so I was well over due. I am aware that the change in climate has caused my hair to become dry, but I have spent years growing it out to the length it was. Before Jenny even started cutting my hair, I specifically told her that I had some breakage in my underneath layer, but I did not want it cut to the length of the breakage. I reiterated the fact that I only wanted 2.5 to 3 inches cut off. Jenny then took a picture of the back of my hair and then had me show her where I would like to have my hair cut. I am attaching pictures of the before and after. I walked out of there almost 9 inches shorter. It wasn't until she started cutting the front that I realized what happened. I even asked, "Where is all my hair, I said 2 inches." Jenny kept saying "I did exactly as you asked me to." I told her my hair use to cover my boobs, and now it doesn't even go past my shoulders, please tell me how that is 2 to 3 inches. I started to get emotional. I know its hair and that it will grow back, but I did not sit there explaining exactly what I wanted and tell her what I didn't want done, only for her to do exactly what I asked her NOT to do. I had asked for a conditioning treatment with olaplex added to strengthen my hair. She took me to the shampoo station and washed my hair and started what I thought was the conditioning treatment, but she had put a "gloss" treatment on my hair, which is actually a chemical treatment. The color that she put on my hair was a brand that I am actually allergic to and had a reaction. For 3 days, my scalp severely burned. When I called back to ask what she had placed on my hair, she said once again, that it was exactly what I had asked for. Once again, incorrect. A conditioning treatment vs a color treatment are two completely different things. During the process, she was massaging the chemical into my scalp causing major skin irritation. I am a licensed cosmetologist, and although I do not currently work in a salon, I know the procedures and the importance of communicating with your clients. Jenny does not listen, nor does she care about making a situation right when she was clearly the one who messed up. She was upset that I told her that I did not believe I should pay for the hair cut. The cut was so bad that I had to go somewhere else to have it fixed as much as I could without going shorter. I would not recommend Jenny to my worst enemy! read more

I used to take my kids there for trims and hair cuts and Tiffany was always really nice, but never wanted to do kids' hair. I brought them in after they reopened on Saturday and the lady that told us could do their trim was very unpleasant and kept on yelling at my 3 year old about mask slipping off her nose while she was tugging at her. She cut my 10 yo's hair first and when I saw how rude she was, I told her I didn't want the little one getting a trim. She grabbed her up and proceeded to tell her off the whole time. Each kid took less than 10 minutes, didn't even wet their hair, 3 year olds hair was in a braid, cut it all uneven and charged me $50 for literally 15 minutes of work (for both). I believe the lady's name was Jenny. I will NEVER go back there again. I would not recommend this salon as it's gotten worse every time we go in. I would give it a 0 stars if it were an option. read more

Being in Lewisville I was a little hesitant to drive to Garland to get my hair done but I was not having any luck and my girlfriend highly recommended that I check this place out. When I walked in they were so friendly and accommodating that I knew right away I made a good decision. I showed them the color I wanted and the results were great! They deep conditioned it after the color so my hair looks shiny and healthy!! I thought for sure I was going to be charged a lot ( I get blond and my hair is naturally dark) but I was wrong they are affordable! Well worth the drive and time. Jenny Huynh is a extremely unprofessional. I walked in for a trim. She started cutting my hair, and asked me how short I wanted it. Middle of my haircut, she stops and asks me if she could stop my haircut to cut another white mans hair??? I don't know if she thought his time was more valuable than mine but to me that didn't seem fair because I was there first... she tried to talk me into doing a hair mask so she could do his hair. I said no twice but then forced me to have the mask done so she could help him. I waited 45 minutes for this hair mask while she did the other guys hair. Once she was done washing his hair on the same sink and chair without wiping it down or cleaning the scissors by the way, she taps me on the shoulder to move to her chair and try's to start conversation and decided to say that she was surprised that I went to college because hispanics don't go to school or finish college. I tell her I have actually graduated with my bachelors degree and am in my masters degree. She then proceeds to tell me stereotypical statements on my culture. I don't think this is appropriate to say to these things to a customer. Also she cut my hair super short than what I had asked and showed her. Will not recommend read more
