March 2021. Made me pay for 2 seats for over $150.00 when last year same event was $25.00. INSANE! The insistence of a $25.00 drink charge regardless of whether or not you drink is really off-putting and the worst was how violently ill I was for 3 days after 2 tiny glasses of their house wine. Gonna think this one over if something ever comes up again. IF I ever go again, I'll gladly give up the mandatory $25 not to get that sick again. read more

What's there not to love ? This well designed quaint little place is one of the premier spots to catch local and national acts. Many of the greatest established blues bands & guitarists like Jimmy Thackery ( & The Drivers ), Samantha Fish have and will appear here in the very near future. Many of the local favorite guitarists & acts like Roy Rauschenberg { BREEZE }, David Shelley ( Bluestone ) & Mark Telesca & The Funky Biscuit All Stars can be found on their marquee. Each month this club features an array of spectacular bands that really should be seen and heard. The sound system and acoustics are quite exceptional for this small club and due to it's size,....up front and very close to the performers. VERY COOL ! You can usually find us in center stage - front row ! The prices for seating is actually very inexpensive and worth every penny to enjoy an evening out for dinner, drinks & a great performance from any of the acts that appear. Oh yeah, you'll have a great time ! From their menu we have enjoyed the Sliders, Po' Boy pulled pork, Chicken Fingers & and to die for french fries.....good food that is reasonably priced. The bar drinks are always poured to perfection and priced right too. Parking is quite abundant however, if you come late expect to be driving around waiting for a spot. Clubs like the Funky Biscuit are a needle in a haystack find and we will forever take part in in attending as often as we can. Nice place to hang out with friends. Went here a couple nights ago, was not disappointed in the food, but the show/music being a bit mediocre. However, had some parts where I had found it amusing, relaxing and exciting at the same time. Overall, great experience. Recommended if you're trying to forget a long, horrible day. read more

Recommended by a friend we tried out the FB a couple of weeks ago. He suggested the Monday night jam. There was no cover and band after band. We went for dinner and it was pretty decent bar food. I had a burger and it was quite good. We had a really fun night with lots of solid tunes. The place filled up by 8pm so if you want a decent seat be there by 7 or 7:30. We'll be back. read more

Funny how so many customers of the Funky Biscuit have the exact same complaints about the manager being rude and lying about complaints. I wonder if that's the establishments way of getting people out so they can make room for more paying customers. This strategy of abusing customers may be working for now but like everything else will eventually come to an end once people start taking notice. This is a really cool place, in a nice setting in Boca close to great restaurants & in the middle of it all. We caught a great acustic band playing & had fun! The bar tenders & servers are hard workers and on their game.However, the front staff by the doors, were VERY rude!!! They obviously don't believe in good customer service and have poor self awareness because they believe they are doing a good job. They ruined a good experience. read more

My friends told me about this hidden gem, and I couldnt think of a better way to check to out, but to go on new years. From the minute you walk in you are greeted by the manager who smiles from ear to ear. She escorts you to your table and makes sure throughout the night all is good. The music was off the charts! The owner, Albert came around to our table to say hello, the servers were very attentive and the food was great. Came here on a Monday night, a bit crowded but I still found a place to sit and managed to get a drink. Staff were very friendly, always had a smile on their face which is always an A+ in my book. Music was amazing especially the violin player! After being told the food wasn't the best, I decided to order the Shrimp po Boy. I was not disappointed! I work in the same plaza and there are a few places in here that have a decent lunch and some at a fair price. However the food here is ridiculously delicious and at an extremely moderate price. Had the Pastrami last week, it was awesome. I also got the smoked wings today. That'll be my go to lunch but can't wait to try the brisket next time I go in. Also the bartender Kim was really nice. This venue isn't good, it's unequivocally downright fantastic. This is a small, intimate setting that affords a close up opportunity to see, hear and interact with your favorite musical artists. The table service and wait staff are flawless, the food and drinks are reasonably priced and the live band performances are priceless. We have twice purchased tickets for artists we follow. First the Bodeans and more recently, a show that featured a lineup of The Alternate Routes, Carbon Leaf and Red Wanting Blue. There is no need for binoculars to see the band or parking lot flagman here and unlike the BBT Center, you won't pay $6.00 + for a bottle of water or wait in long lines. In short, the Funky Biscuit is a super cool GOD sent for anyone who enjoys top flight service and a truly memorable entertainment experience at an affordable price. Kudos to the owners, staff and artists that enable a patron a safe enjoyable evening artists can show just how extraordinarily talented they are. read more

Hey y'all, Went to the funky last night.. My hubby and I saw uncle John. It's Been quite some while since I saw a dead head band. But we were visiting from Texas. Both of us truly did enjoy ourselves. We had a female server who was quite friendly. Can't remember her name ;( The place was very nice inside and the ladies at the door were both very kind walking us to our table. The lighting and art work on the wall was an awesome set for our style of atmosphere.. Very jazzy!!! To be fair, The most impressive aspect of the whole establishment was truthfully the young hustler I could not stop watching. Under the tables, behind the bar, outside the restaurant. I quote my husband on this one "Even inside the men's room at one point" I swear there were two of her. This young GIRL I must say has to be the hardest working individual I have ever seen in my 58 years on this earth. I tried to stop her and ask her name, so I could at my least let management know how efficient their staff is. But she was honestly just too fast for this Texan. I assume she doesn't speak English? Nice to see a hard working young lady. Our time in S Florida, service wise was pretty disappointing till we came to the biscuit. As a local wow shocked by the weird policy! Got there Friday night for drinks with friend before 8pm their happy hour ends then! Ordered food drinks etc! Some manager said, after being there almost two hours a band was coming in at 930 and if we wanted to stay we would need to come up with $15 each to stay ... So hurry get out or pay more even though we were clearly there before any cover time ? Strange !!! If you charge for a cover starting at a certain time and someone is there clearly before are you going to search out people for more money creepy ??? read more

My husband and I were there last night to attend the Johnny Winter concert. We had purchased reserved seating a month prior to the event. We were provided with the specific seating arrangements as we had requested. However, once the room started filling in with people our view to the stage was almost completely obstructed. We spoke to the waitress about the situation and she stated that the show was sold out and that she had expressed our concerns to the manager. The closer it was to show time the more obstructed our view became. We spent $100.00 for the tickets and wanted to see the band in addition to hearing them. There was virtually no crowd control. The manager, Al, did come to our table because I was very dissatisfied and strongly expressed this to our waitress - Melody. He was very rude and flippant to us in how he handled the entire issue. He was less than apologetic about the situation and was very forceful in his demeanor. He was beyond arrogant. The large crowd on the ramp caused a security and fire hazard which will be brought to the attention of the City of Boca Raton for future events. The food was okay. This is a great place to just listen to bands. Great drink menu and Brittany plus Al the owner make this place as comfortable as possible to have a great time . Thought we'd try their happy hour out. Got there about 5:30pm they were still setting up. We had a Living SocialCoupon which we presented to the Bar Tender. We were given their Happy Hour Menu. We placed our order for 2 well drinks, Fish Tacos, & Boneless Chicken Tenders. After we were served the Manager appeared and said we couldn't order off the Happy Hour Menu with our coupon, and would be billed at regular menu prices. Which we were. Stayed for a few a returned to the Funk Biscuit around 5:30 PM for a couple of Drinks. 2 Scotch on the Rocks (well drinks) and 2 Pints of Micro-Brewed Craft Beer, $30 plus? Not exactly a new-comer to south Florida (as they've been open for a year or two now), the Biscuit is a nice upscale addition to the south Florida music scene. The owner (Al?) has good taste in music and appears to be trying to book quality bands that play far too infrequently in south Florida. Depending upon the band the cover charge can get a bit steep, but I'm sure the booking fees these bands charge isn't cheap, either, so it's probably about right.. Large stage, good sound system, clean bathrooms, & decent selection of beers. Overall a winner. Let's hope it stays that way! read more

Came in from NY to hear some good music and have fun. We called about reserving a table, the woman on the phone was very sweet about walking us through the process. Only problem, was that she told us to take table 32, it's a great spot, didn't mention that we would have an obstructed view, and that we would have to,be sitting behind a guy that insisted on taping the whole show and his " Big ***" camera blocked our view for the whole show. They really should mention that some seats have obstructed views, I really would have picked a different table, but since the show was so crowded we were stuck there. The waitress was super nice, she did her best, but the bar got our order wrong, and the food was just okay. In truth, I would go back, the place was really nice, but now I know better! read more

Well it was my 3rd go there and it was even better than the previous 2. All told I heard Vanilla Fudge, the Stevie Wonder review and last night the fabulous rocking Crystal Dream Fleetwood Mac cover band.I thought they were exceptional and so did the 3 friends I went with. The waitress was kool, the food was tasty and the drinks were delish. I love the venue as there are almost no venues for the mature crowd.A wonderful laid back place with great sound and seating. They don't oversell the place - totally awesome! It was sold out but there was plenty of room - even in the Gen. Adm. standing area to hang and dance. Great sound. The place only holds about 250 max. This was our first time at the funky biscuit. We went to celebrate my 45th birthday. We had an absolutely amazing time. From the phone conversation with Katie the manager to the servers to the musicians to the food it was all phenomenal. For starters we had the biscuits with whiskey butter dipping sauce, a mule drink, and fish dip with a very fresh vegetables. They were all great! The service was amazing, and kept checking on us on a regular basis. My husband and I felt like we were a king and queen, treated like royalty. The music was phenomenal (Selwyn Birchwood). This place is a must go to. The only thing I would change about this place, would be to make the seats more comfortable. I wish they were more cozy or had more cushioning. But not a deal breaker.
