We ordered a takeout salad with feta, apples and candied pecans with fabulous dressing. Their gluten free chicken pesto pizza with vegan cheese was flavorful and really tasty. My boyfriend had the buffalo chicken pizza and a "delicious" IPA made by them...he was able to but just one beer which was a great option. The service when we arrived was wonderful. All the staff were friendly and attentive. They had live music playing also which is another bonus fyi. Seen restaurants come and go and there really aren't a lot of options, but I'm a fan of this one. It's really a good cross between pub and family restaurant. I have eaten here three different times now. This location has only been open for a couple weeks now. I have had take out once, a work Christmas party, and tonight I sat at the bar and had dinner. The food has been nothing short of delicious. I have had one of the protein bowls, the pretzel and beer cheese appetizer, pizza, hot wings, and more then Nashville hot chicken. The service has been great, everyone that I have encountered that works at this location has been quick to help, friendly, and haven't let my drink get low. As far as the craft beer I highly recommend Send It, which is a double IPA. read more

Went with my parents, bf, and bfs dad. The waitress took our order then diaspeared for a while. We tried to call her back over to get ua more drinks she ignored us. Went in on a Sunday afternoon so wasn't very busy. No wait time to be seated. I had the pulled pork BBQ Tacos. They were spot on! I am from Kansas City where BBQ is a way of life so they did these right! The waitress was very kind and accommodating when asking about the hard ciders available along with her over all care for us while we were there. The kitchen happened to outside bring supplies in and went out of his way to ask how things were. This went a long ways with me, very much appreciated. Fantastic! Not only exceeded our expectations, but impressed all in our party of three. We were passing through and discovered this charming spot by accident after a previous destination was closed. The centrally located bar had roughly a dozen stools with additional booths along two of the walls and a back room with more tables and a fireplace. There were two servers that were attentive and friendly while handling bar and table service. The menu offered an ample variety of bar food staples, as well as some other creative dishes. We had burgers, pulled pork, and some salads. Everything was so well-prepared and tasty that we also took a pizza to go. Beverage list had good variety as well. Previous reviews complaining about wait times, staffing levels, and temporary ingredient shortages are neither fair, nor realistic, in my opinion. Seriously, stuff happens folks! In a town of less than 10,000 people, it is unreasonable to expect small restaurant owners to overstaff or overstock their establishments. I have worked in hospitality for decades in multiple major U.S. markets and am not easy to please. The quality of the food and service at Brickyard Hollow far outshines any potential hiccups with timing or 86'd menu items. This place is a gem! We only come to Maine sporadically, but will make stopping here a part of our perennial tradition. read more

I'll definitely give them another try, altho several family members have tried them at different times & most report the same "meh" food experience. The restaurant is clean, and nicely re-done. The service was friendly. We (3 adults) ordered two apps & a large specialty pizza, all to share. The food took a long time to come out, and all came out together Vs. Apps first then pizza. The Tots Poutine w/pulled pork was underwhelming in the flavor Dept. There was a very generous amount of pulled pork, but it didn't have much flavor. The boneless tenders on the other hand, were a small portion for the price, but with the Nashville Hot sauce, they were the most flavorful part of our dinner. We ordered the specialty Reuben pizza - the pizza was reasonably yummy overall as far as general flavor goes... but it didn't taste at all like a Reuben. The corned beef was skimpy and you couldn't taste the sauerkraut or 1000 Island dressing at all. The cheese was yummy, but not at all like the Swiss on a Reuben. The pizza dough was very good. I suspect another specialty pizza would be very delicious, the Reuben pizza just didn't taste at all like a Reuben. Overall the food was solid good, just nothing great, overall a bit of a disappointment. Will be back to give them another shot. read more

I love this place! The food was delicious! I got a gluten-free pizza, and it's probably the best GF pizza crust I've had! My friend got a protein bowl and loved it. I appreciate that the ingredients taste fresh & flavorful. Others in my group ordered some of the more unusual pizzas, and didn't like them. But I chalk that up to trying new things and realizing they're not what you prefer. There are a lot of beers to choose from - definitely something for everyone! But I'm gluten-free, so I had the choice of 2 ciders. The ciders were not my fav, but considering this is a beer place I was glad to have something fun to drink. Service was attentive & friendly. She explained the menu options that we asked about, and even went to the kitchen to ask them about ingredients (due to my dietary needs). She was patient while we needed extra time to decide what to order. And she came back frequently to check on our drink situation and see if we'd like any more food. My only complaint is that it's extremely loud inside when they're busy. I struggled to hold a conversation with my friends, because it was so loud. So in the future I'll go during a less busy time. (The patio looks like a great area to eat at, but obviously not in the winter.) We will definitely be back! read more

The Lovely Kaitlyn was our server and we were greeted with a beautiful and friendly smile. Cozy little restaurant which had a limited menu. Ordered the pizza and chicken tenders. They were quick to come out and HOT to eat. Pizza burned the roof of my mouth. When it finally cooled down, it was delicious, to a point that I was full and yet still wanted to eat. The tenders were good also with a thai sweet sauce. The service was great and Kaitlyn checked on us at the appropriate times. If passing through again, I would definitely go in. read more

We were in Maine for vacation and decided to try this place because the menu looked intriguing. Our waitress, Lisa B was the best. She answered all our questions and made suggestions. We got the beer fries and spinach art dip as appetizers, both were delicious. Them we ordered the fried haddock, the mashed potato and bacon pizza, and the blueberry ricotta pizza. All were superb, but the blueberry pizza was my favorite. Then we got some homemade macarons to take home and they were outstanding! I would definitely recommend this restaurant! This place is mediocre at best. We've given them more than a few chances, because unfortunately, in our area we have very few options. We ordered online tonight, (a pizza & Mac and cheese). It took way longer than the estimated time, and our food was cold when we got it. Be prepared for the $16 Mac to be a VERY small serving for the price. We are done giving this place a chance. I hear the "original" brickyard hollow is good, but this is another Flop In Skowhegan. Disappointing. read more

Our waitress, Sydney, was outstanding but stretched between too many tables, although she did an admirable job and was friendly and fast. Good food. Worst waitressing I have ever experienced and I'm 35 years old. We had a big party, about 10 people, called ahead, they said it was OK. Asked for a kid menu, not on the menu any more so tells us it. One of the kids asked for cheese on their fries, she says no. There wasn't enough seats for everyone, they didn't offer to make more room, we just squished in. Everyone except 1 guest is there sat, they wait until the last person is there to take drink orders which was about 45 mins later. Ok.. then takes at least 20 mins to get the drinks. I would understand more if the restaurant was packed but it wasn't. Takes orders. Waited over an hour for the food. Didn't have enough silverware, no plates for the appetizers. Everyone drank their drinks and waited. Waitress checked on us about once an hour? Finally got drink refills. Food was good except my Seoul bowl meat was just fat. When we got the kids food, the kids mac n cheese was on a hot skillet and the kids pizza on a hot metal pan. Waitress comes out with one check for $317, didn't ask if we wanted it split in any way, of course we did. I live and eat out in Portland and our checks are always automatically split. We asked for it split. Waitress looks at us clueless and says that will take her some time to split it. After a few minutes of trying to figure out who is with who, we gave up and paid the whole check. Just wanted to leave. Just terrible customer service, I won't be dining in again. Brickyard Hollow food is good and that's about it. They could use some better trained staff. Check in with your customers more often, be more personable. Give updates. read more
