Our former groomer has retired, and we had heard good things about The Happy Hound. Wow! This place did not just do a good job, they blew my socks off! They did a fantastic job with everything! They bathed him, dried him, groomed him, trimmed his feet with love, and when we picked him up, he had a little bandanna on and was wagging his little docked tail with happiness. I can tell that he actually had a good time getting groomed here. He looks and smells great, and is totally happy. The Happy Hound is clean, professional, and staffed with people who really love animals. We have found a new groomer, and I am just totally stoked! I realize it's just our first visit, but trust me - I have been around the block when it comes to dogs and groomers. This place is solid! I recommend The Happy Hound 100%. They are so cool - they even gave him a free toy to celebrate his first visit.

The groomer had 2 1/2 years of…read moreexperience, which concerned me, so I asked him if he thought he was good with some hesitation he replied yes. When I picked her up, they told me the groomer couldn't finish the job because she kept biting the groomer. I replied that she has never bitten or nipped a groomer & I was certain the reason for the behavior had to be because of the groomer. The manager and I argued back-and-forth. He held his ground and insisted it was my dog, and I insisted it was his groomer. After getting home, I noticed that my Yorkie kept licking herself. I looked more closely and saw the reason why she was nipping the groomer. He had injured her with a large clipper burn near her belly. I took a photo & went back to the Dog Stop to show the photo to the manager, Caleb, who offered such a lame apology that I felt it necessary to tell him that it was no apology at all - a further disappointment, and I told him so. I asked for a refund, which he did give me and then I went directly to the Vet for ointment.

We've had him at Lucky Dawgs for three days now (today is the third), and he has completely changed. He's a sweetheart at home, and he plays very gently. He no longer chews on clothes or cables, and he just looks so much happier. Blaze and Jill are amazing people who really know their stuff. I will absolutely be taking Jenko there for the forseeable future. If your dog is having issues at home, just give it a day at Lucky Dawgs and I guarantee it'll be a huge improvement. I've teetered with the idea over the past 6 or so years with my continuous traveling serving in the military, however never could bring myself to do it. Then a friend suggests Shane at Countryside play-n-stay. I called to get a quote for the duration of Chili's stay if I decided to board him. Shane was prompt to answering my call. He answered all my off the wall questions as a dachshund Mommy. He was very thorough in getting Chili's vet records and current shots. I could tell his concern for health of ALL animals coming to his establishment. Upon my arrival to Countryside P-N-S, I immediately noticed it's beautiful countryside location; Name says it all ;-). There were dog statues as soon as you entered the property with a well landscaped driveway back to the Dog Day Care location. The outside kennels were empty as it was cold out, but I noticed no smell of animals and they were well kept. When we entered the "office" part of the building it smelled clean, nothing like I would have expected. There was no obscene barking, everything was organized and clean. Shane, the owner, greeted me personally. He was cautious to just greet my dog. He took his time in letting Chili warm up to him, even got cheese for both of us to give him. His questionnaire for boarding admittance was thorough and organized. He handled Chili with care and again answered all my random questions. When I picked Chili up after 4 days; he was sooooo happy! He didn't want to leave Shane or his son Kyle. I honestly could never think of taking my baby anywhere else but here. Shane is so caring, knowledgable, and warm. You can definitely see his genuine concern for the animals and owners, not a money making pit. He's a fellow veteran, and I would recommend his services a thousand times! Affordable, clean, caring... Hands down number one caregiver in the state of Pennsylvania.
