The tour was great. The promises were great. The reality was POOR. After several visits and tours,…read moreI placed my mother at the Bridges. Carers were there as a job. Not a vocation. They would "check in" on my mother, but then not come back to bathe her or assist as they promised . She went 6 days with no shower. I had to call. The room cleaning was a hit or miss. Picture a reluctant teen forced to do chores on a Saturday, then you understand. The "gourmet" food was soggy salad, cold main course and veg cooked so long it was no longer green. The dessert was yum. It occurred to me the second floor dining room may get hot food as they are served first. so if you are there, go upstairs. I witnessed residents complain about the food, some "lucky" patrons had their food reheated via the microwave. The server assigned to the area I was in was so rude to a resident that asked for a straw (several times) that I asked her if she was alright. I thought a bad day was the reason for her surliness. She informed me she was fine and that everyone wanted her to fetch stuff for them. (Like do her job?!?) I am still waiting for my beverage (I had to pay 17.00 for the privilege of dining with my mother) This was sad as many residents gathered up to an hour early to wait my dining doors to open. The van, a plus for me I thought, to take mother to the doctor, was never available. Even with 3 week notice. No doctor trips, no grocery store. Just used for outings that you had to sign up for. Limited capacity. Her medication was crazy. They promptly took it all away, reordered generic (she had not used the brand new 3 month supply yet) and of course billed us. I was confused. I asked. Still confused. So many meds were ordered and reordered. Why?!? The pool, nope. Cannot use. No life guard. They were refurbishing the pool for access, never saw that happen...yet they failed to mention this on the tour. The bright spots at the Bridges were the maintenance guy. He fixed and repaired and was so nice about it. The lovely woman who did the laundry. What a blessing she is. Kind and sweet. So I took my mother out of there. She was losing weight, was unhappy, was unclean, I was having to clean her room and still taking her places. I was still missing work. I was assisting the assisted living facility. Care: she was inside and safe. Best I can say.

The best part was meeting some of the residents. I so enjoyed talking with and spending time with those that came over to the fair. With my limited experience here, I would definitely recommend checking out this place if you or a loved one is n need of an assisted living facility.

People make promises and the next day they're gone. The have had a couple of absolutely "HORRIBLE" & "UNFRIENDLY" managers. But once again, the owners are "absentee" so they probably aren't even aware of how poorly the facility is being run. We met with one of the sales people in assisted living who was rather helpful and when we went back a couple of days later she too was gone! Then there's the "rehab". This section should be under investigation for 'senior abuse'! They are desperately understaffed therefore the patients very poorly cared for. There is NO actual attention given that would be considered 'rehab' because the little staff that they have is continuously preoccupied administering pharmaceuticals. If you are considering bringing your loved one here, don't be fooled by the outer condition of the buildings because it's what's inside that counts. And inside is not good.

The management is never anywhere to be found and doesn't address needs or concerns promptly. The facility is short staffed and the residents do not seem happy whenever we visit our family there. At night time they only lock the front door leaving the back and side doors wide open and unsupervised. They have cameras in certain areas of the facility but they do not work making them a useless excuse for safety measures. If you are wanting to be sure your family is in safe space I do not recommend this facility.

They either had the answer or were quick to follow-up. Any time they noticed something out of the ordinary or potentially needed my attention, they proactively reached out with clear and helpful information. When my father had a need, they would typically help him figure things out rather than ask me to take care of it. The doctors, nurses, and therapy staff were phenomenal - knowing their watchful and caring eyes were looking after my father gave me great comfort. The facilities and rooms are nice, although there were some significant maintenance issues (water, climate control) while we were there. I understand there may have been some staffing changes recently. The maintenance director recently reached out to me through the center director to explain what kind of remote to purchase for my father's television. It seemed like he was knowledgeable and that he took ownership of helping my father with his TV issue. The location of the Crossings is excellent with groceries and restaraunts nearby and a new hospital and medical facilities practically across the street. The one downside that I heard from my father and several other residents was that the food was not good. I ate there once with my father and agreed it was not particularly good. Staff are very accessible throughout the Crossings - I met briefly with the chef and believe he is invested in improving the experience. However, food continues to be the most significant weakness I have seen at the Crossings. Food is important, but the safety and well-being of your loved one is paramount. In my opinion, with the current leadership team and staff in place, you can be confident that your loved one is safe and well cared for. I am thankful for everything they did for my father.

After spending thousands of…read moredollars a month to secure care and safety for my mother-in-law, this place did not fulfill any of their promised expectations! They claim to be experts on dementia care, but regularly allowed my mother-in-law to be physically assaulted, often blaming her for their lack of supervision. Many times we would show up and she would be covered head to toe in her bodily fluids with staff completely unaware. They also on several occasions mixed up her medication's because of their poor recordkeeping. This place is horribly under staffed. Every time we tried to work with them, to address these issues, they made promises that they would not fulfill, and excuses as to why things were never their fault. After trying for several months, we realized that she was not safe there and have moved her out much to their somehow surprise. They really only care about the money! They have no idea how fortunate they are that they were dealing with my father-in-law and not me, because I would've had the police in their facility at least twice for the assaults against my mother-in-law, and I would've had an attorney on retainer suing this place for their obvious negligence! One of the worst experiences ever! If you care at all about your relative steer clear of this place!

We truly could not believe our good fortune. Mom had stayed at two different senior living centers. The first would over medicate and over charge for meds. The second was bought out by a conglomerate (money driven) and quickly went downhill. Mom was getting more forgetful and they'd just leave her in her room instead of reminding her of the activities she so enjoyed. Both were expensive. Their memory care building was truly depressing and smelled. We could not imagine our beloved mother in such. My brother lucked into finding Dorothy Cares ALF. We are so thankful. Being across the country, I worried about mom--but no more at Dorothy's. She would send me photos of mom opening my cards, flowers and presents. They would help her read my emails, as mom was getting pretty deaf for phone calls. They catered to her special little requests. Mom was always well dressed with coordinating jewelry every day. She was given her favorite beverage. If she got up in the middle of the night, they were there to help her. It took such a burden off my brother and I to know that mom was in loving, capable hands. Mom's medications were only what she needed, so her mind improved, nurse Dorothy saw to that. We actually saved money and mom received BETTER care than at a larger facilities. It was spotless and smelled nice--no matter when we dropped in. Surely there are reserved spots in heaven for Dorothy and her helpers.
