I love this place! The owner that I met is super cool too. I gave him lots of props for what they did to the place and taking such a risk for a business of this type in Downtown Novato. Let's take it from the top. When you enter the place, it is CLEAN! It like the owner has a background in interior handiwork. Wall trim, baseboards, column trim is all expertly done. The "Fortress" theme carries on in the interior with stone wall facades in the front and rear of the store. They also have little details like swords and flags hanging throughout the store. A really nice touch. They specialize in role playing games and host events where customers can come in and play together. I don't participate but I really support any type of community engagement. They also have a wide range of board games, cards, figures, paints and even stuffy's! Ite really an impressive place and even though i'm not a role playing type of person I will go out of my way to find a way to support this place whether it be to buy board games or stuffy's as a gift for friends or family or spread the word to other gamers. read more

Awesome new game store with excellent selection , lots of light and space and tables for game play too !!! My 20 yr old son and i loved the excellent selection - something for everyone, all ages! We appreciated the patient, super knowledgeable and friendly help from Kyle (who it was fun to meet in a bunny suit ! :). ) Son picked up a couple of card play mats and i got two new quick to learn / quick to play family games to add to our collection per Kyle's recommendation. They have plushies, a good selection family games and of D & D stuff too... Wish we lived locally - we'd be back often! They have a calendar in store and online for those lucky to come in for evens and gaming ... Let the adventure begin ! read more

Great variety of products and accessories with attentive staff. They were very easy to talk to and would give helpful info about products they held and the games themselves. This store is amazing and has the most friendly and knowledgeable staff I have ever seen. Tons of boards games, cards games, minis, dice, you name it! They also have a great rotating schedule of different events for different playing card games. This is THE GAME STORE to go to if you're in the north bay or Bay Area in general. This store is amazing!! My son recently got into the Star Wars card game and so I brought him here to play with others. Everyone is so welcoming. The staff is also super helpful and have answered any questions I have. They are all just so nice here and have such a great amount of item stocked up. They also have many game nights and are willing to sit and help you learn any of the games they have available. I'm really happy the Game Fortress I moved here. it was my first time in here yesterday while checking out the Art & Wine Festival. when i entered, i was greeted warmly by Sean Murphy. they even offered some delicious cookies for their customers. i needed to use their restroom and Sean graciously agreed. extremely clean bathroom as was their entire store. very light and bright and spacious! people were also playing games in the back area and it was packed with folks having fun. they also had a very cute selection of stuffed animals. thank you Sean for the hospitality and taking a moment to answer my questions. definitely a gem of a place and highly recommend a visit! read more
