She gave me some great intel on some news about hardcover versions of these books - coming later this year! As I turned to leave, I found snoozing away right in front of me - on a worn cardboard box - an adorable, soft, snuggly little cat. I immediately oohed and aahed and asked if was permissible to pet this little bundle of joy. Cammie told me to go ahead and pet away. I asked if it was a boy or girl - and what was their name and age? Turns out - she is a she - a little one year old named "Fable!" After standing there waiting, I finally asked if everything was okay, and coincidentally my transaction was completed almost immediately afterward. I understand that stores get busy and employees have other things to handle, but basic communication and attentiveness go a long way. This could be a great place for people who enjoy browsing and collecting games, but unfortunately the poor customer service, disorganization, and inaccurate online inventory make it hard to recommend.

The new Barnes & Nobles Booksellers bookstore finally opened this morning in Gainesville, VA. It's…read morelocated in "The Shops at Stonewall" retail complex in the space previously occupied by Bed Bath & Beyond. I stopped in to check it out. The place was packed! It's a large B&N - much larger than the new one in Manassas that opened last year. And it has a B&N Cafe - which the new Manassas location does not have. After wandering the store, I picked up a hardcover of "The Silmarillion," one that I had not seen before. It's essentially re-packaging the outside of the book - but I wanted another copy. The checkout line was a bit long - there are 4 cashier stations. Paid with Apple Pay. Then headed over to the cafe to caffeinate. They continue to feature Starbucks coffee. I ordered a Venti cold brew with Half n' Half - and a blueberry scone heated up - to enjoy in the Cafe. Also paid with Apple Pay. The store has free WiFi available. Glad to see this new Barnes & Nobles in the area! #BarnesAndNobleBooksellers
