On the way to Duluth, MN we stopped in I Pine City, MN and had a lunch here. We had the lowrider Rueben with fries and the Turkey, bacon avocado melt with a stack of onion rings. The rye bread was thick on each sandwich. The onion rings and fries were hot and generous in size. Service was fast and helpful in telling us what we were Interested in trying including the special of the day. No Paper thin bacon garnish here. Thick sliced hickory Bacon slices is what was over flowing in my melt sandwich. The ambiance was relaxing and the weather made it an easy choice to go upstairs to the outdoor rooftop. Stepping into The Garage Bar and Grill definitely gives you the garage vibe. The decor is rustic with items made from pipes, vintage car parts, license plates wall decor, etc. They even have the durable automotive blue paper towels at each of the tables! For those looking for good drinks, there was a wide variety of different types of beers and cocktails available. Service was nice and our server was accommodating. As far as food goes, I was a bit disappointed. I love gyros and was looking forward to enjoying one! Unfortunately, the pita bread smelt and tasted old, not soft nor fresh. The tzatziki sauce was flavorless and wasn't what I had expected. I was quite bummed. On the good side, we had the jalapeno poppers for our appetizer and that was yummy! My husband had a chef salad and you can tell it wasn't made with a lot of love - everything was just piled on. Overall, we'll still give this spot another go to try other items on the menu. We were on our way to the Minnesota north country and stopped here for dinner. It was Monday night and the place was packed but in spite of that service was great! Here's the down low on the meals: We both started with dinner salads. Fresh romaine lettuce, tomatoes, red onion and shredded cheese. We both really liked these. I had the Backfired Buffalo chicken wrap. Chicken was grilled, Romain lettuce, cheese and a house Buffalo sauce. It was all very good, except the sauce. It was a vinegar based sauce like Tabasco. I'm just not a fan of that. My SO had the Low Rider by Reuben sandwich. She said it was good but lacked the depth of flavor a great Reuben has. It had marbled rye bread, (not rye) sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese. It also lacked the thousand island dressing common on Reuben sandwiches. Ok food. Service was slow and the bar tender told me if I didn't like the price go to the cities. Will not be back and will recommend tile the gentleman bartender works there will recommend everyone else goes to other local establishments. Update they had the bartender that told me to go drink in the cities reach out and trying to justify his poor attitude by saying he was just trying to lighten the mood. And if he knew we had ordered a basic Bloody Mary the price would have been different. I clearly stated about it being a basic bloody at the time of and even said if it would have been a loaded drink i would have understood the price. I said the order even to him was two basic bloody Mary's for $28 seemed a little excessive. And proceeded to show me a picture of an ultimatum Bloody Mary from another bar. Then said go drink in the cities if you think the price is high! If an actual member of management wants to reach out or the owner i'd be more than happy to have an adult discussion about it until then my review stands. Visiting from out of state. The food was delicious. Had the Mustang Burger, with BBQ on the side. Every plate that came out of the kitchen looked amazing. Service was good too. I had trouble deciding on an adult beverage, but finally opted for the One Headlight. I didn't think they still made Liquid Ice. The description of all the booze was spot on. Bartender had a heavy hand and I didn't mind. All the fruit was a little misleading it was a small wedge of lime, lemon, orange and a cherry. It was a cute and quirky place. We eat here frequently, you can always depend on good hot food at a reasonable price. We love the three on the tree platter as a starter. They always seem to be busy, but we always get quick service. Stopped in for a late lunch while fishing in the area. I've driven by a few times and have even tried the BBQ place across the street. I'm pretty certain the restaurant hasn't been open for more than a couple years. I was overdue to stop in. First impression was positive...a good crowd of mixed ages, obviously local (which is great), a few good sized TVs and music playing. I sat near the bar. Decor is nice...lots of brick, exposed HVAC, etc. The dining area was clean From the good sized menu I went with the Roasted Sesame Chicken wrap ($15) that arrived quickly, well constructed and tasty (See photo). I'm typically not a cole slaw fan but the combination of ingredients made for a great wrap. By the way, the "upgraded" fries arrived hot and fresh but a bit greasy. Not a huge issue...I ordered them after all! Server, Brady was friendly and attentive inspite of working a number of tables. Bottom line: a great find that I'd recommend to other Yelpers. I'm a fan. This was my 2nd visit is a week. First visit impressed me with how nice this place was. Nice decor. Service both visits were excellent. Had hamburgers the first time and they were very good. This visit was a special trip as they posted Gyros for a limited time. Something my granddaughter and I both love. Let me say that thus place is a bit expensive but the burgers were worth it. The Gyros were a $10 special. Nice price for today. But the meat was the same as you get in the frozen kits you can get at Sam's. Not much taste. Pita was a bit old as mine fell apart as soon as I picked it up. Not a repeat buy for sure. But the kill was the Broccoli, Bacon,Cheddar Bites. $12 for 6, SIX, bite size from FROZEN bites. $2 a BITE. Great new restaurant and a super cute place. The day we went it was raining but would love to go back as there was a rooftop patio. We had a burger, cheese curds, and a Rueben in our party. Everything was excellent. I capital L loved their ranch and their BBQ sauce. My sister said the sauerkraut was really good. The fries had a breading on them that was really good. The bar tender was attentive and quick. I will be back and try and take some pictures next time. read more
