A Love Letter I am a…read morefamily member of a 5-year resident living at The Barth Hotel Senior Assisted Living. I recently visited and am so impressed with this establishment. Most importantly, the staff are angels. It takes a special, caring person to take care of others like they do, and the Barth staff go above and beyond for their residents. They know their residents' needs and anticipate them. I was honestly blown away by their dedication and care. This review is a love letter to their kindness and humanity. If you work here, you walk on water. Thank and bless you. I also met about half of the 62 residents, and found them dignified, warm and kindly. There is an air of appreciation for the comfort that safe, affordable housing brings. A friendly word here is appreciated by these nice folks. Please take the time to say a cheery hi to these deserving residents if you are walking by. There was a $1.3 million renovation in 2005, to create a Union Station renaissance. The lucky residents can partake of simple, free public transportation to the many attractions that locals seek, including the 16th Street Mall, Performing Arts, Denver Art Museum, Ball Stadium, or Coors Field. The Barth Hotel's 4 story, red brick historic building, designed in 1882 by Frederick Eberley, preserves the beautiful architectural details of its time, including high, pressed-tin ceilings, and soaring, brick-voussoir-arched windows. The ornate bracketed cornices bring gorgeous detail, standing in appealing juxtaposition to clean contemporary architecture. In terms of history, why can't we always strive for beauty in building? 100 years from its inception, The Barth was deservedly added to the National Registry of Historic Places. Standing inside, looking out of my family member's arched, magnificent 140 year original, liquid-wavy glass 12 foot window, it's amazing to me that this gem was given this second chance to serve deserving local citizens.

The home care service I was using at the time referred me to Phil Hotaling and what a blessing that was! Phil helped me understand so many issues when it came to being in assisted living and what was and what was not provided. He arranged visits with different homes and together we toured each one. He guided me through the questions and issues pertinent to each home. I selected a wonderful place for Mom! The assisted living home has room for 8 residents and is run by a fantastic couple who live there with their two children. Mom is happy there and I'm happy she is well taken care of by loving caring people. I would never have found this place on my own without Phil's help. Thank you Phil for your help, your guidance and just your wonderful heart and caring about your clients and their family. I would never have made it through this last year with Mom and then Dad needing care all on top of two knee replacement surgeries! Getting Mom and Dad together again at Leawood before he died means more than you'll ever truly know.

After evaluating two home care…read moreagencies in August 2020, and concerned about Covid protocols during the height of the pandemic, we chose to work with EFHC. We had one caregiver for a month who moved away suddenly, and that transition was handled smoothly by Rachel and her team. We ended up working with the agency from late August 2020 through mid-March 2021, and our caregiver Linda became a member of our family. I could not recommend this agency highly enough. Throughout any billing, long term care insurance, scheduling, or other logistical challenge they handled all the difficult parts. Our caregiver Linda always followed covid protocols and was a friendly and engaging presence. Linda worked with both of my parents when they lived with us and did an amazing job juggling a complex set of care needs and personalities. I could not have been happier working with EFHC and Linda. Without this team's effort my husband and I would not have been able to continue in our jobs and handle other priorities in caregiving and our own personal lives.
