Lunch a limited menu which this week was self serve soup and salad at a small station. Soup of the week was tomato basil. Salad was a spring mix with assorted toppings : cheese, onions, chopped bacon, grated carrots, cooked eggs, dried fruit, cherry tomatoes, and assorted salad dressing. Also some assorted fruit at the salad station. Cost around $14 per person. A daily wrap or sandwich is offered and cost extra. Once the food is gone, that's it for the day, so hours usually 11am to 2pm. Cooking classes are also offered here by chef Vershawn. One can also rent the room for private parties and events. One can have their parties catered here or bring in their own food.

This place is very rich with history and is absolutely beautiful. Johannes is an amazing host and extremely accommodating and friendly. We really enjoy chatting with him and learning about the house and its history. In the morning you get a delicious home cooked breakfast from Johannes. Take a tour of the house, Johannes house (across the street), or walk some trails and enjoy nature. It's an amazing and beautiful experience and we plan on coming back every anniversary. We were met by his trusted 4-legged fur friend and after a quick phone call, were met at the door. He graciously let us in to his gallery and allowed us to freely peruse. We had great conversation, historical education all the while with the comfort and graciousness of an old friend. We bought 3 pieces and I will ordering a pineapple piece for sure (he collaborated with his customers for a shared vision). His gallery is part of the heart that is Lancaster, SC and a visit is highly recommended!

The marker in front of this classic home reads, "The original part of this house was built by…read moreRobert W. Gill soon after he purchased the lot in 1828. About 30 years later, it was enlarged by Samuel B. Massey. Local textile manufacturer and banker Colonel Leroy Springs remodeled the house 1906-1907. Springs' son Elliott, noted author and World War I flying ace, was born here, 1896. The house became city hall after a 1957 lease-purchase agreement with the city of Lancaster." It is obviously no longer city hall but is used for municipal purposes. The façade features a two-tiered pedimented portico defined by fluted columns with Doric order-influenced capitals.
