My adult son wasn't offered the hair wash or massage which is included in the price. We didn't know it was an option until my husband went the next day and Merri offered these services to him. My boyfriend was excited to get his haircut and we booked with Merry or Alegría in Spanish translation lol My boyfriend came in with a 90's reference images aka Johnny Deep for what he wanted to get done. Now, I do appreciate that Merry was able to explain why he would not be able to achieve this looks; his side hair was too short. When I asked over the phone what she would recommend for his current hair and face shape. That is where service fell; I asked with her hairstyle expertise what would she do... she asked if he had more photos but he didn't and that's when it felt like an inconvenience. My boyfriend felt like she didn't want to deal with him and yes there was a language barrier but I literally told her over the phone, "let's start from scratch, we trust you and what you recommend". I found the interaction strange since part of a cut is the consultation, and we were open to recommendations as part of the consultation and her response was not encouraging, " I'll see". Due to this, my boyfriend decided to end the appointment. He didn't want to make her uncomfortable or have himself feel uncomfortable. I took my husband to get a hot shave. He has Parkinson's and can do a better job himself. His face looked like somebody dragged a dull razor across it. Lots of nicks, esp on the upper lip. And so many missed areas. I showed the guy some areas where there was still full-grown hair, but I realized it was pointless. I feel terrible because I took him there as a special treat, but ended up subjecting him to a painful and highly unpleasant experience, and then paid for it. They have so many good reviews for their hair services, which is what led me to choose them. Stay far away from the hot shave. Very disappointed. Jesus and Miranda are amazing at their crafts! They cut, shave, hot towel treatment, style and fade! They offer a free beverage, pool table and great atmosphere. Their experience in cutting and styling hair is what is important to them. They want ever customer to leave feeling better and looking good. This place is awesome! I was apprehensive, because there were only a few reviews, and they could have been written by the owner's family for all I know. In addition, I'm an Asian guy, very particular about what I want, and there aren't too many Asian faces around here. Finding a new good barber can be stressful. But I was very pleasantly surprised. First of all, the place itself has a great ambience, that would look as good in midtown Manhattan or Brooklyn. It has great attention to details, with many things great would be appealing to guys if they need to wait for a cut. But unlike those old school shops, this place has a modern feel, and is very clean. As to the actual haircut: Jesus (the barber) did a great job, heard all my requests and delivered exactly as I desired. The man is versatile and talented. All this was topped off with a nice mentholated-type shampoo while sitting in a massage chair. Blow dry, styled, boom! I haven't had a cut this satisfying in years, in LA, NJ, or NY. And it's in Zephyrhills, of all places! This place is waaaay ahead of this town, hopefully the town catches up soon. Regardless, it's good enough that I would have driven many miles to get here. I find my self in Zephyrhilis for a wedding. Coming from Miami I didn't know what to expect from barbershops in this nice country town. I first called them to find store hours. The voice of the female that answers the phone is welcoming and pleasing. Had an appointment available @ 10 am on a Saturday morning in December. And once I walked on the place, it was gorgeous. Jesus did my cut and did a great job. Hair wash after brought back old memories and it was greatly appreciated. From start to finish, the people at this barbershop will make it comfortable to be around. I had a great experience at this barbershop. I didn't know what to expect but I was impressed by how they treat each customer at this shop. When I walked in, I was greeted with a smile and offered complimentary beer, soda, water etc. Whoever decorated and designed the shop has a great sense of style. The place itself isn't like a typical barber shop. It looks like an upscale shop. I've lived in Tampa for years, been to a lot of the 'popular' barber shops in/around Temple Terrace -- you know the ones -- like a dozen barbers, half of 'em you've never seen before. It felt like playing Russian Roulette. Plus I'm mixed, so I have curly/straight hair, and if the barber doesn't know how to handle that it looks terrible. Finally after a *really* bad experience at one of those other places, I tried this place, and wow! I don't know why I wasted my time with the other spots. This is the first *proper* barber shop I've found in Tampa. They took the time to find out what I wanted, and put in the effort to make it happen. I left with a haircut I was proud of, and after years of sub-par cuts, that made me really happy. Professionals through and through.
