We had a party of 15 inside; they charged them 10 for water without mentioning to them that there is a cost. Overall, while I understand that rules are rules. It is clear that the security and management only make these rules for certain people.

I had a drink a few years ago (Sloe Gin Ramos) and not many bartenders know how to make it, nor do they want to take the time to make it. Amanda and Chris jumped right in and made it (takes 10-15 minutes to make). It was delicious and the preparation was a show! Loved it. All bartenders, servers, and bar backs were working in unison, like an orchestra. You could tell they all enjoyed their jobs and coworkers! It made for a beautiful ambiance. Fantastic venue for live music! The intimate setting makes every show feel special. It feels much more personal than a large concert hall, and you can truly connect with the band and the energy of the crowd. In this case, that puddle was flavorless. It really tasted like the steak was just sitting in a flavorless oil. The steak was very bland, very difficult to think someone could send out a piece of meat out like that, especially when you find out what it costs. It was not worth it and not worth the final tab unfortunately. Really wanted to find a steak W for Downey but I don't see myself being interested in this place again.

downey local for a decade plus. yea, its more remodeled than before, thank God for that. It is ghetto, the spot its at is kinda awkward, and u run into nothing but the people you loved and hated from highschool. (fun and not fun at times) i like smoking outside better. Guardsman is better if ur looking to avoid bullshit...orrr maybe the bartenders should stick to serving drinks and not serving whats between their legs. well, err atleast to the married men that pass thru. Ive been coming to this place for 6 months now its a great place to get a quick drink after work or after college. The beer is cheap and the cocktails are good. What makes the place stand out from other similar bars around the area are the bartenders. Alex and Brittney the dynamic duo. Alex always welcomes you with enthusiasm and serves you quickly. He is also great at making conversation about anything including sports. Brittney aka team self esteem is extremely perky and sweet and has the best attitude always smiling. Worst place to have a bar, is in a residential area. All night we have drunks and fights wondering off onto our residential streets. Overflow of cars parking on our private streets, and constant cars being crashed into due to adults that cannot handle their liquor. Music is so loud residents cannot sleep, especially those who have to go to work the next day. Sorry to say, but this little spot needs to control their customers to PARK only in their parking lot, and keep their doors closed so those who do not want to hear their music. read more

It was a great bar, back in the day. Now you have drugs being served in the bathroom, they block the door so you don't get in.... Downey Police ignores it. Security is a joke, allowing underage drinking. No air conditioning, the perfect environment for the virus... Don't run a tab, you'll get someone else's tab and get yelled for complaining; security will be more than happy to escort you out. I have been going to The Glen bar for over 4 years and this is definitely the "it place" for bars in Downey. The place is remodeled and looks amazing amazing when you walk through the door and the bartenders are all very friendly and quite frankly just great at what they do. My two favorite nights of the week are Karaoke night on Tuesday and Thursday because i can bust a few rhymes and get my rap groove on. See you there! read more

I've gone a couple of times, love the design inside. Better than the usual drinkery in Downey. Drinks are not very expensive and music is almost always cool. It seems lately they have a more variety of whiskey's and tequilas. Their beer is very nice and cold. Service can be slow sometimes but it's not bad. They have a guard the entrance and I have yet to see a fight in there. read more

It's definitely a small spot, but sometimes those are the best kind! Overall, a chill little neighborhood sports bar to stop in for a drink, catch some sports, and apparently maybe even meet a cute stranger or two.

He was giving LDE. When i asked for his name and to speak to the manager he walked away. MIND YOU.... after that some guy ended up standing right next to me the REST OF THE GAME. HE WAS IN FRONT OF THE LINE THE WHOLE TIME AND NO ONE SAID A DAMN THING. I have pictures with time stamps of this guy next to me the whole game. But some how he just wanted to be puffy chested with a woman. Horrible staff. Horrible place. Treat your customer's with respect, don't forget we are the ones that keep your doors open.
