I came here on a Friday night with a reservation for 2 at 7pm. We showed up right before 7 and was told it would be a 15 minute wait (even with a reservation), so my friend and I decided to walk around to pass the time. We ended up at a nearby bar and hung out there for over 20 minutes before coming back. When we checked back in with the hostess, she told us it'd be an additional 20 minute wait! We literally got seated closer to 7:40, despite a 7pm reservation. We wanted to have a quick dinner here before going to an event at 8pm... needless to say we were late to our event as we didn't leave here until 9! The food was good and fairly priced (although drinks were a little overpriced in my opinion as they were pretty basic), the decor was super cute, and the service was standard. When we'd asked for the check in advanced (again, because we were running late), it took them 10-15 to bring it and and did not bring us to go boxes as we'd asked for either, so that took another little while longer to receive. read more

The initial experience was very promising, and we appreciated the welcoming atmosphere. However, over the course of our visit, the service fell short of what we expected, especially considering the $850 bill. The restaurant appeared to be understaffed, and as a result, several challenges arose: * Drinks often took up to 25 minutes to arrive, and one of our guests had to request her drink three separate times. Food arrived in increments, and some orders were incorrect or included items we did not request. While the additional filet mignon was kindly removed from the bill and taken back to the kitchen. the asparagus that was not ordered was still charged. I thought it was interesting that the chimichurri sauce was charge and I'd assume it would be part of the steak itself. Given the repeated mix-ups, I had hoped the waiter might have removed them as a courtesy. Not a big deal but I'm sure the waiter was fully aware of the consistent mix ups Half the table did not have silverware when our food arrived, and I had to get it myself due to no staff being available. I want to emphasize that the food itself was delicious, and the initial welcome was lovely. That said, we felt that the service did not match the quality of the food or the expectations for a fine dining experience at this price point. Family members and I gathered for a post-holiday get-together. Our meal took place mid-day, on a Sunday. During our visit, the restaurant was not too busy; perhaps these were contributing factors. With seven diners, I was able to see a lot of menu items. Entrées ordered included: the 10oz Filet Mignon ($65); the Doc Holliday sandwich ($25); Duck Sando ($19); Colossal Burger ($24); 12oz Ribeye ($62); the Short Rib ($45). Sides included: Calamari Fries ($15); Amazeballs Brussel Sprouts ($16); and Asparagus ($14). Photos are attached. The menu is available for viewing, online. Notice that some plates, such as the Short Rib, are a complete meal (main dish and sides); other entrées (such as steaks and sandwiches) may require the ordering of sides à la carte, like vegetables or fries, to round things out. As a general observation, all of the items ordered were prepared and presented well. Everyone at the table was satisfied with the meal they selected. From my perspective, the menu is good in that it has diverse selection, at various price points. That said, I feel some entrées provide a better value than others. I've eaten here a couple times and I enjoyed it both times. Good amount of choices in their menu for food and drinks. We ordered the tomahawk steak and it is delicious, omg. I will say it took awhile to get our order but it was worth the wait!! Meat was so flavorful and juicy, and it is enough for two people. Very filling and satisfying, highly recommend splurging on this. Sides were decent as well. Definitely will be back for the tomahawk. LKSD is known for their unique drink specialties and their top tier dishes,... my friend and I shared a nice Tomahawk steak cooked to an absolutely medium rare perfection... I mean the flavors on this steak was Epic.... We picked this place for our Friendsgiving dinner with my girls and WOW... everything from the food to the service was great! We ordered several dishes to share and every single one was fire. The lobster mac & cheese should be illegal!!! It was rich, creamy, and loaded. The ribeye steak was perfectly cooked and full of flavor we shared it of course. And the loaded fries? Unreal. We kept looking at each other like, "Why is everything this good?" Ilsia ( hope that is her correct name) was friendly and attentive even though it was busy. We felt taken care of the whole night. This place is bomb. Everything I tried was on point. I ordered the 10 oz Filet Mignon with the Lobster Tail. The filet was cooked to perfection at medium rare. The flavor was perfect, making it quite possibly the best Filet Mignon I've ever had. The Lobster Tail was an okay size but it was a great complement to the steak. I also ordered the Mac Daddy and the Elote Ribs. Both were great additions. I tasted the Mashed Potato with Gravy which was also prepared very well and definitely an above average take on the cuisine. Last, but not least, I ordered the Bread Pudding. I had no idea, but...spoiler alert... they set it on fire right in front of you while pouring caramel sauce all over the dessert. Parking is difficult here, especially on a Friday. It's understandable for a place located in this area where there are lots of other great options to eat. Service was great. The servers were very attentive and kept checking up on us which is always appreciated. Word of caution is to ensure you know they charge $5 or $6 per bottle of water. It may have been our fault for not specifying what type of water we wanted, but it seemed they defaulted to one that was a bit pricey for water. Other than that, great place. I've been a regular at Lock & Key for years because of the consistently excellent bar service during weekday visits. When conducting business for my nonprofit, I've spent hundreds of dollars each time here--it's been my reliable go-to spot locally, always with attentive and welcoming staff. That's why I decided to stop in on a Sunday afternoon for some drinks and an appetizer while in casual clothes (jeans and a cap). Unfortunately, the experience was the complete opposite. I sat at the bar for a full 5 minutes upon arrival and was ignored not once, but twice by the bartender, Freddy. He came to my end of the bar on two separate occasions, and walked away without a single acknowledgment--no "I'll be right with you," nothing. It wasn't until the second time, when the bar back (Moises, I believe) noticed me shaking my head in frustration and tapped Freddy, that I finally got served. When Freddy finally approached, I had to ask if the bar was open before placing my order. This wasn't just disappointing--it felt insulting. The stark difference in treatment compared to my weekday visits in business attire makes it hard not to wonder if appearance played a role. Whatever the reason, it's unacceptable for a returning customer. On a positive note, Moises was attentive, proactive, and genuinely engaging. He stood out as the bright spot--if anything, he deserves recognition (and maybe a promotion to bartender). Consistency in customer service should be non-negotiable, especially for regulars. This experience has left such a bad taste that I'm rethinking whether it's worth coming back at all. I even had a conversation with my business partner who lives in the area. Which is why I was there from Newport Beach house sitting there dog while they were out of town. Management might want to conduct weekly or biweekly meeting's to address staff training on greeting and acknowledging every guest promptly. It's either an individual situation or a management one. We were promised a booth as soon as one opened up and we didn't get seated until an hour after. The bartender was friendly we did order drinks, but had to close out our tab before we went to sit at our booth. Our drinks were average. The food was average. The appetizers were delicious. We got onion rings and duck mac and cheese, very good. We each got a burger and just expected a little more from the burgers since the description sounded so amazing. My Old Fashioned was also excellent, made just right. While they offer several variations, I preferred the classic one from the menu (Old Fashioneds are my favorite drink, so I'll definitely be back to try the others!). I never had such a worst experience in my life!!!!! LKSD take the prize for the worst restaurant based on fraud, price, and food quality. The restaurant is very deceitful in how they run their business. We gave our staff 3 credit cards to pay for our meal! They added 20% in tip because we had a party which we were okay with. By the time I checked my credit card statement, they charged us another $135 tip on our credit cards which is another 37% tip. So they charged us a total of 57% tip!!! If none of us bother to check out credit cards statements, they would have robbed up $135 extra tip!!!!!! This is fraud!!!!!! On top of that, they don't answer their phones nor replied to text messages. It took awhile for us to get ahold of someone. And by the time they even replied, they also took a while to fix their mistakes!!!! Now as far as Water!!! When you tell them you want water, they will serve you only bottled waters without even telling you they will be charged bottle water. So we found out the at the end when we got the bill, that they added a $24 charge for bottled water. Ridiculous! How hard was it to give us a courtesy they will charge for water!!!! The food quality was horrible too!!! I ordered a Big Mick thinking it would be similar to ordering a Big Mac. When I got the burger, the steak was hard as a rock. They never bothered asking how I liked my steak. So I thought it was going to be grounded filet mignon beef patties. By the time I got the steak stacked up as a burger, it was over cooked and hard as a rock. What made it worst, is that I wasted $57 that was not even remotely edible. You can print these for your staff? I even asked the bartender what they had and then later I passed the fridges by the bathroom and there were so many options there. We got our apps and not even 15 seconds later they tried to bring dinner too. We sent the entrees back because we wanted to eat the apps first. Poor timing from the kitchen.
