Some of the teachers are excellent and this review is not a reflection on those hard - working and caring teachers. The management is only focused on enrolling more kids, so existing kids are moved up to a different level class, even before they've had time to settle in their existing setup. The biggest red flag- they have extremely high attrition rate. The teachers are constantly changing...I am talking on the scale of 3 main classroom teachers leaving in 2 months and getting replaced by completely new faces. And it is not a one off thing. In the past year, my kid has stumbled through atleast 7-8 new teachers...( i am not talking about subs, i am talking about complete replacement of the face your kid is spending 8 hours with). There seems to be no stability in the young kids life in terms of classroom environment / teachers and friends. I strongly believe that there needs to be some level of consistency in a child's life, to prosper. Teachers quitting so frequently might also be a reflection of the management/their hiring policies in general. read more

Our child has taken three classes here, and every teacher has been wonderful. Jenniffer, Vida, Makayla, and the assistant teachers are all incredibly caring and attentive to the babies. You can truly feel their love and dedication. They are all so kind and warm, which makes us feel very comfortable and at ease leaving our child in their care ! read more

I have been sending my two children to Goddard since they have been 6 months old. It has been an incredible journey for us as parents and for our children who have grown up through critical stages from their infancy to toddlers and to young children getting prepared now to go to Kindergarten this fall. We have made life long friendships with their teachers (even attending / our kids are in the wedding of one of their first teachers this fall). That has all changed as of one week ago. Honestly, I am in shock to some degree that everything tipped on its head so abruptly and that I could be so blindsided by the people we have trusted with our children for the past 2.5 years. I do believe you learn the most about people and organizations in challenging and difficult times and we have been faced with one of those really challenging times and been heartbroken by the lack of strong and courageous leadership from Goddard Avery Ranch administration to care for and protect our children. As a result, after 5.5 years of investment and entrusting our children to Goddard (3 years in a different state and 2 1/2 years here); my spouse and I made the decision to remove our kids from their classroom several weeks ahead of schedule which has disrupted their routines, separated them from their classmates and beloved teachers. I know how important these decisions are to entrust others with the care of your children. I'm not exactly sure how to reply to your response to me -so yelp please assist if this needs condensed but David-it's so nice to see you replied to my yelp review when you ignored my last two e-mails to you directly. I think this highlights your professionalism. I am also glad that you are now including us when before you wanted to eliminate our concerns and reported in your "transparent" letter to families that only one boy and one girl were involved. I am also glad you reported calling the licensing board- while I was the one that first called the Texas department of family and protective services which is what all teachers, heathcare professionals etc are mandated to call to investigate such matters. I do appreciate you calling them the second day however even though you didn't report our daughters name. Also, drawing attention to the fact we only had weeks left does not mean I have to be comfortable with my daughter being in a classroom with a boy that reportedly touched her- even if his touch was deemed curious touch by someone else. I should have the right as a parent to advocate for my daughter to ask that he be moved to a new room -- especially when he reportedly was suspected to have done this to two girls. I don't know anyone able to access the fact that would or would not impact them negatively or not and I have worked in psychiatry for 23 years. You just don't know what impact people carry or what they might repress. Further, I think it just seems compassionate to move him for the two families of the daughters that openly expressed to you their discomfort in having him in the same room. Curious or not I feel if any adult witnessed this we would tell that boy no this is not ok. And even if unwitnessed by an adult that young girl should be believed. I feel we would not then after tell the girl or their family - sorry if that made you uncomfortable- it is just part of his development- now you need to just deal with it or move classrooms yourself or you can take your refund and go. But you clearly feel justified in your decision so we had to accept it. That is why as a mom and woman I left and I felt compelled to share this - The public can now decide. read more

This was the worst experience with any business I have ever encountered. Steer clear of this place, the ownership, management and teachers were atrocious. There are far better schools that actually care about the kids and I strongly recommend avoiding this one! Update* Thanks David. I understand your position and the fact that we see this differently isn't a surprise. After we had concerns of our child being struck at your school, we don't think there is any reason to proceed or discuss any further. The teacher turnover seems to be a problem there, we should have listened to our gut and just not taken our child there. I hope you truly believe the kids that are still there are in good/safe hands. I could see the owners arguing in their office from the car. The woman owner is very unpleasant and seems very unhappy every time I see her or go inside. High teacher turnover in my granddaughter's class and the front office always has different staff. Something is off. read more

We relocated from California mid-fall 2019 due to a job transfer. We had never been to Austin and the transfer happened very quickly. Goddard was the first preschool we visited for our 4 year old and after visiting 5 more in the Avery Ranch area, we decided on Goddard for it's location, amazing new, clean, and very well maintained campus, and the great receiving and caring staff. Mr. David was incredibly flexible and patient with all our questions and uncertainty on exact start date pending our move. Miss Mayra and Miss Tricia were so understanding and caring to our 4-year old who had a really hard time with the transition. A few weeks after starting our daughter was asking if this was going to be her school forever because she loved them both so much. Most importantly our daughter's development and learning took-off. At first it felt like the discipline was a bit much, considering she was used to a more play based environment, but very quickly we saw her thrive! We saw a big improvement on her writing, attentiveness during reading, and her comprehension, which we know she'll benefit from as she start Kindergarten the next school year. A big plus for us was also the after school program, which has pick up at Patsy Sommer (were our 7 year old goes to elementary), so it made afternoons much easier with one pick up. We feel so thankful and blessed for finding our way to Goddard when we moved. Their patience and support during that massive transition meant the world to us in such stressful and disorienting time. Our girls are better today after this life changing event, and that is in great part thanks to their time our Goddard. read more

My child started here on January and so far we love it. The school is clean and new. Like every other childcare, staffing changes happens, but the owner and directors show that they truly care for each child. Vey happy to have my child at this Goddard. read more

Getting to school with my kid's has always been a struggle but now that they attend the Goddard school at Avery Ranch they truly enjoy going to school. Mrs. Kelsey is my daughter's pre-K teacher and I love all the different activities and projects that they do throughout the day it really encourages my daughter to be creative. All of the teachers are extremely friendly and I love that the admin team is always welcoming when they see my kids every morning. Ms. Mayra is my son's summer camp teacher, she is super sweet and kind and he really thrives on her daily schedule and attentiveness to detail we look forward to her assisting him in his virtual learnings. read more

We have had been both our kids at Goddard since their opening in 2019. I am happy to say that the staff and teachers here are caring to our children and responsive to our needs. Prior to Goddard we had our first child in 3 other daycares and had issues with all the previous ones that went unresolved which always ended up with us leaving. It has been over two years here now and our decision to keep our kids here speaks volumes. We feel our kids are safe and well cared for here everyday while we are at work. And when we have questions or concerns, David and Stephanie have always been responsive and open to help. read more

If you're looking for a fun, clean, active, educational school/daycare look no more. Our family enrolled our son back in Aug. at the Goddard school and we can't say enough about how amazing the owner, staff, and teachers are. Our son is in the Get Set class (2 1/2 years old) and just after a few weeks of him starting he was mastering how to count in English and Spanish, speaking in full sentences, learning the alphabet, and just thriving. Since Aug. he has grown and learned so much exceeding our expectations and.... he is now POTTY TRAINED thanks to his loving, caring, compassionate, teacher Ms. Courtney. (I really feel like we couldn't have done this without her help and drive during school hours). We love the daily reports as they really help us understand what he is doing all day and learning so we can continue the education at home. We also love the multiple pictures in the app we receive daily as well as daily zoom calls we can join and see circle time live. They recently started a Youtube channel for when your child isn't at school as a learning tool at your finder tips. They go above and beyond. They're so much more than a typical day/care, they're more like your extended family (that you love) Excited to be apart of the Goddard family and seeing our son continue to grow and thrive. read more

My son started this school when it first opened its doors. He is full time there. Although it is brand new day care, I have not lived any trouble neither with teachers nor with director or owner. Every employee here is super kind and smiles sincerely. I all the time felt that my son is in good hands. They are using an interactive system which you can see every development of your child day by day. I hope David, the owner, would come across good families who share common beliefs about the next generation and I wish families could find such an awesome place for their beloved ones which is too hard when you are trusting "foreigners" with their the most valuable asset, kids..Anyway it is an awesome place. read more
