In September 2017 when it was the last day of my maternity, I scheduled a tour of Goddard School in Herndon. (Tip: if you are a first time parent, please book a spot for your kid ahead of time). In our case, we got one last spot for our 2 month old daughter (then) and she started the school the following week. I remember first walking into the school and taking the tour appreciating its beautiful building, playground and classes. During our tour, an older kid walked into the office and gave a hug to one of the directors. It was such a great sign. Not only that kid loved the school, teachers but also directors in the front office. Since 2017, Goddard school in Herndon has been a part of our life. My older one graduated from Goddard school in 2022. She always had amazing teachers around her who not only cared for her but also loved her. Even today when we go to pick up our younger daughter, our older daughter still hugs those teachers (many of them are still here which is so unique for the school). I should mention my daughter had Ms. Padmini as a teacher who is a Computer Engineer turned to educator. One morning, when I was dropping my daughter off, I heard Ms. Padmini teaching signs using alpha, beta, delta. Now, Ms. Padmini designs the curriculum for the entire school. The kids are in great hands with her. They are truly getting STEAM focused education. Ms. Marilynn has been a caring, energetic and wonderful administrator. Last winter, one evening my car just would not start because of battery issues. Ms. Marilynn stayed with us until my husband arrived to make sure we were okay. I don't know a whole lot of people who would do this but having her in this school has given me comfort that my daughters are in a caring place. Ms. Abha has been excellent owner of this school. As a former preschool teacher herself, she brings a wealth of experience. She has brought very practical changes/enhancements to the school. It is no wonder that school gets voted to be the one of the best schools in this area. I would highly recommend this school. Thanks to the amazing education at this school, my kids turned social, friendly, and confident. They look forward to going to their respective schools and are progressing by leaps and bounds. We started our nearly 2 year old in January. The owner is wonderful, a former educator who has demonstrated to me that she puts quality of care above profit. There are also two directors who are actively engaged in my child's experience. This administration team has also demonstrated they apply a high standard to their teachers in hiring, as I observe new trial-period classroom aides either growing into a permanent position or being asked to depart ways because the person was not the right fit. The result is a team of incredible teachers! When my daughter had a difficult time transitioning to her new 2 year old classroom, it felt as if every teacher in the building was aware and working to help her through the emotional journey - teachers from other classrooms stopping me in the hallway to ask how she's been doing. For me, it is a difficult decision to not be the primary caretaker for my daughter. The Goddard School of Herndon team understands that and seems to me that they operate knowing they are taking care of the most important thing to me - my kid. read more

I don't even know where to begin with how amazing The Goddard School in Herndon is! I had to go back to work after only being on maternity leave for about 6 weeks, so sending my daughter to a daycare that young was an incredibly hard thing to do. From the moment I stepped into this school I instantly felt like this was the right place for my daughter. The entire staff is so warm, welcoming, and so easy to talk to. The rooms are a good size and they keep them very clean. I am always greeted with a smile and a good morning in the morning by the directors and/or owner. They are so friendly and always fill me in on how my daughter is doing. If I have any questions or concerns they are very quick to respond. My daughter loves them as much as she loves her teachers! Her teachers are absolutely amazing! Very attentive, very loving, and always on top of it with sending pictures, sending daily reports, and sending reminders or concerns my way. Although my daughter is in the infant class, I still feel like she is given so many opportunities to work on milestones she should be achieving. She is growing so much and so fast and loves school! Our daughter has been attending Goddard for the last 16 months, and we love the school, first of all Goddard has a very robust curriculum and they tailored it to the specific needs of our daughter who does have a learning opportunity due to speech delays. The Goddard teachers and the experienced support staff are very nurturing and kind while managing and maintaining discipline in the class. But the end customer is my daughter, and she always looks forward to going to school, and I think she resents the weekends due to school not being in session :) The Goddard management is very approachable and pays attention to details, they make it a point to get to know the families in addition to the child. The facility is very well maintained, with the right amount of safety and sanitization protocols in place to keep our child safe during these COVID-19 days. We would definitely recommend Goddard to any of our friends and family. Our daughter is better child every day she comes back from Goddard, I don't know the exact magic that happens behinds those doors, but it is working. I can't put a price on that... read more

The measure of a daycare to me is how your kid feels about it. Our daughter runs into the arms of her teachers for big hugs every morning and enjoys playing with her classmates. Her development has shined during her enrollment here and the infant room was especially welcoming when we first started here. I like that we get detailed reports everyday with pictures, nap schedule, snack, etc. We toured a great number if facilities for our daughter and I feel the same today as I did over a year ago, we made the right choice picking this place! read more

I highly recommend The Goddard School in Herndon for their care and education of young children. The management and teachers welcomed us from the first day when they gave us a tour of the school. They have colorful decorations in the classrooms, children artwork on the walls, and a welcoming mural. The school is new and is extremely clean. My soon to be 2 year old son is excited to go to school each day and gets to make new friends. I like the fact that the school provides a daily report by email on what my son learned that day, how much he ate, and how often his diaper was changed. We also get a picture of him each day. The Goddard School at Herndon (Dulles) is amazing. They have great teachers, amazing staff and the owner is always open to feedback and works on it right away. They take special care to make sure your kids are comfortable. Whenever my son has not been feeling well, I have got calls right away informing me about his condition. From a learning perspective, I feel my son has learned a lot coming to this school from his previous school. They have a wide number of activities that keep the children busy, entertained and keep their curiosity on. My daughter went to Goddard's summer camp. She loved loved the summer camp!! The teachers and director are genuine and caring person. The school has excellent security system and we liked how each small details were taken care of. Excellent summer program. Update to my original post, as I have two kids attending Goddard now- an infant and a toddler. We've been going to this school for over 2 years, and we are very happy. The school is very clean/safe, and the program is very enriching/structured. Since we've been here for awhile, I've met most of the teachers and administration. The teachers are very kind and patient. We took a month break and transferred my toddler to another school due to costs and location, but the other school could not compare to Goddard. We enrolled the toddler back with the infant, and they are both very happy. We highly recommend! read more

We can't say enough great things about our experience with The Goddard School of Herndon (Dulles) This is not just a daycare but a Home full of Love, tender care and support. Choosing a daycare is really hard especially to first-timer like us but we did research and found Goddard School of Herndon on top with tons of good reviews,so we contacted the director and she was so responsive and invited us to have a tour on the daycare. The first time we step inside the facility, we already felt the warmth welcome and that moment we were so sure that it's gonna be our best decision to enroll our daughter. Ms Abha and her husband were so helpful during the enrolling process,you can always felt the sincerity of them to help parents and kids as well. Our daughter had the best experience in the classroom as she started to develop her character and confidence. Agree with Jane S review about mean things. I heard mean things from them about a parent response when their kid was hurt at school. Coming to my experience, when my kid was hurt by another kid and had bad scratches on back, we complained to the teacher. The teacher responded she did not notice anybody in class hurting her. Next day my kid came back with more scratches on both legs. We can clearly see 4 nail marks on each leg. The kid was badly hurt and should have cried in the class. Teacher response was same, She noticed it when she was changing pants not when the kid was hurt. When we complained to Director Lola, She said that my Kid may be hurt herself. This is next level of them talking mean things about Kids too. Ms Lola , Your answer was not convincing because my kid was hurt on the back and not reachable​ oneself. I will suggest all parents, If your Kid came back hurt from school, Don't believe what the staff says about it. read more

My son has been going to this Goddard School for almost a year now. He has had three teachers leave his class since he started. They were pretty awesome teachers and he still misses one of them dearly. The teachers are all wonderful and the place is kept very clean and germ-free. We have an infant that started here at 3 months old. The program has been amazing. From the teachers to the daily curriculum. The teachers make sure to help progress the skills needed to grow and move forward in their development. It's been more than a year since our son started attending The Goddard School. The Teaching staff, the owner and directors are so friendly to the kids that our son feels very comfortable here unlike in his previous day care. My son has been attending The Goddard School since August 2015. We love it! You know you are in a great place when he is eager to jump out of the car to get inside. We have gone through two classrooms and we are on our way to a third. The passion and love they have for the children, plus their push for education (STEAM, yoga, and ASL) is everything I could have dreamed for my little man. The owner, Ms. Saini, is extremely open to hearing any issues. She is courteous and extremely professional. My husband and I had a few issues we wanted addressed, and she was extremely responsive. We moved to this area last December and my son joined The Goddard School in January 2017. Before joining to his new toddler class, owner Ms. Shifali encouraged us to introduce our son to his teachers Miss.Tanya and Miss. Ashley in December itself which really helped him to know them better. In the beginning it was very hard for him to adjust into new environment as he was accustomed to his old day care routine but with proper attention and versatile activities and new little friends he started liking his new class. The staff is very friendly and caring. My son's teacher used to send me his pictures doing some activities as he use to cry at the time of drop off. Teachers are really nice and well educated and they help each and every kids to explore things by themselves. They don't force them to do activities in certain ways. I really liked the detail Daily Activity report from his teacher with a cute pic of my son doing the same. I really liked mid-year analysis on my son's behaviors, how he respond in different situation, how his behavior with other kids, etc. and how his teachers are working and helping kids to learn good things, yoga poses, new languages. Ms. Shifali is very proactive and friendly. She always respond to our questions through phone or email or in person. They have a very good Summer Program for kids. Even for toddlers they have lot like Robotics, Goddard Talent, Splash day, Magic show, Engineering, etc. In July my son moved to his new class "Get Set" as he turned 2 1/2 and the transition was very smooth. His new teachers Ms.Mikko and Miss Kara are really nice and they both enjoy teaching and playing with the kids. My son really like to go to Goddard school. We transferred our 18 month old to The Goddard School in Herndon seven months ago from another daycare, and we were very pleased with how smoothly the transition went. The owner and directors are all helpful and caring individuals. Our child has been with the same teachers for the past five months and really enjoys spending time with them. The curriculum is engaging and we can see the impact on our child's development. The teachers provide daily updates by email to the parents which are informative and very helpful for monitoring eating and sleeping habits. Our son goes to Goddard Herndon and we are extremely happy with the school, the teachers and staff. Our son was transitioning from an Nanny to day care and we were very apprehensive about the change to daycare & process initially . We work near Reston area and we did initial research to find daycare in and around the neighborhood we live/work. Doing the initial research and tour of some of the nearby day cares , we felt many of them were ok, but it didn't immediately give us the right feeling . When we toured the Goddard school of Herndon through the initial weeks of enrollment, we really found the difference. The system and care adopted here is very supportive , educational ,clean , safe and as many of the reviews have noted , end of day its great to watch kids learn and have a great time in the school keeping the factors in mind. The transition and the progress has been great for our son and I see him everyday learning and enjoying the day with his teachers and friends . :) Thanks to everyone - the management , staff , kids, families and everyone here for making things the way it is and I just wish the school and the system retains to be the best. Rude owner Ms. Shefali and rude director Samantha. Not dedicated at all. And the class teacher turn over is just tremendous. Every time I went to see the facility, there was a new teacher in the class and the previous one had left. And when asked, the owner and director were so defensive and rude. They actually had mean things to say about the teachers that left. Being a teacher myself, that is not a very nice thing to say to a stranger if you don't know enough. Would never send my kids there. It's a home-run sham operation, worse than a home daycare. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME GOING HERE. YOU WILL REGREt if you do. read more
