I was very disappointed with this company. They stolen a lot of my money. The front desk was always empty and I had to wait for a long time to get in. Sometimes, another customer would let me in, which made me feel unsafe. The security was also very lax. They would assign any staff member to any kid, without the staff actually knowing the kid nor parents. The management and the school were chaotic and understaffed. They did not care about the quality of their service or the satisfaction of their staff, parents, and everyone overall. read more

Our daughter has been attending the Goddard school for three months and she loves her teacher Ms Bria, who managed to create a very safe and fun environment for the little one. Update: I still love this school. My son has attended since he was four-months-old. He is currently in Ms. Sandra's class. She is absolutely phenomenal! She has a passion for teaching. She cares about each student. She ensures that each student loves learning and reading. I am impressed not only by the amount of patience she has, but also for the amount of compassion she has. She is a wonderful asset to the Goddard School. I love The Goddard School! This place is more than just a "daycare." It truly is advanced nurturing environment that focuses on education. I recently enrolled my son in this school when he turned three months old. I really loved the fact that the facility was clean, the faculty was diverse, knowledgeable, and personable, and the school holds major events (i.e, the science fair and the recycle fashion show) for all of the children, including the infants. Since he has been enrolled, he's been reaching all of his developmental milestones much quicker than other babies his age (according to his pediatrician). That alone is a testament to their hands-on activities that are tailored to helping each of the children reach such important developmental milestones. Specifically, Ms. Graciela and Ms. Susana are phenomenal because they worked with my son to create art projects that resulted in him holding his bottle three weeks after I enrolled him. They even read to him every day and send one free book home so we can read to him also. We were so happy with The Goddard School! I also love that they send pictures and the electronic daily report, detailing his naps, meals, diapers, and activities. These pictures and reports helped me transition back to work because I felt like I knew what my son was doing every single day. I really appreciate Ms. Graciela, Ms. Susana, and Ms. Cynthu make sure that they speak to my son in English and Spanish because we really like language immersion programs. Not only do they ensure that they speak to him in Spanish, but they teach me new words too! Finally, I would also like to recognize Ms. Tiffany and Ms. Terrie! They are amazing assets to the organization. They are friendly. They promptly send out notices. They even called to check on my son when he was out for a day after experiencing a fever from his immunization shots. They truly CARE!! Lastly, the school is very, very safe and secure. The security system only permits parents (and authorized guardians) to enter into the school by handprints. If you're looking for a school for your child, please do yourself a favor and select The Goddard School!!! We are very IMPRESSED by this school. read more

Mrs. Dee manner of teaching is so refreshing! She's patient and supportive and really knows how to motivate her students. She's great at building confidence and keeping lessons fun and engaging. I love the fact that she actually teaches all subjects!!! I wish I had came earlier our time here has been amazing. The staff is awesome and they really care. I encourage everyone to read the review Andrea C. posted on Yelp on 10/24/2018. Although this review was posted almost 4 years ago, the Director, Tiffany Brigham, is still "dismissing" students with a phone call to the parents. No warning. Just kicking the child out. No opportunity to discuss the issue she claims exists. Tiffany is the Judge and Executioner and you are not even afforded the benefit of a "trial". Tiffany Brigham is not a nice person. She cares nothing about the children or their parents. She doesn't want to work together. It's her way or the highway. She gives no consideration to the child or their family. The Business Manager's response to negative reviews is always the same . "At The Goddard School, we pride ourselves on the attention, courtesy, respect, and professionalism we show our Goddard School families. The Director and I have an open communication policy with our faculty and families; we are on-site and readily available to address any concerns." They do not practice what they preach. They do not welcome or practice open communication. They do not want to hear anything you have to say if it's not praiseworthy. Nothing is ever going to be perfect on either side. So, open communication needs to be practiced. But, be aware. If you attempt to have a conversation about concerns you have, Tiffany has total autonomy and makes decisions on feelings and hearsay. She will retaliate against you and your child if she doesn't like what you tell her. And, if you have a conversation with any other management staff member, don't count on them relaying the conversation as it truly happened. They won't take responsibility for anything and you will be blamed and retaliated against. The owner then backs up whatever Tiffany tells him. He won't even give parents the courtesy of speaking with them when they have asked to speak to him. There may be some good teachers and caregivers there and, if you're willing to kiss Tiffany's butt, your child might be allowed to go there. But, be prepared for the phone call to kick your child out when Tiffany decides she doesn't want your child there anymore. Doesn't matter if the child has done nothing wrong, is doing well, likes the teacher and the teacher likes the child. Tiffany gets what Tiffany wants, no matter what. Also be aware that Tiffany is the regional director for more than the Energy Corridor location. She is employed by the owner, who owns more than one location in the Houston area. I say "employed" because her behavior and that of the owner indicate he works for her, not the other way around. read more

Parents BEWARE: I highly caution parents before paying any deposit here. Be sure to get everything in writing and email as we had issues with the former director who made commitments that were not true. (i was not able to attach the emails, but you can the same review on Google where i've attached the 3 pages of correspondence) Unfortunately, we discovered this too late and the director we spoke to originally was let go from the company before we requested a refund. They collected over $870 ($150 registration/$100 curriculum fee/$670 two week deposit). We tried to reason with the new director who asked us to speak to the owner, Robert Chow. I've attached the email correspondence and you can see from his last response he does not care about his customers. I wish we would have had a better experience. I even contacted Better Business Bureau to file a complaint and they told me that this facility and owner did not respond to the complaint. In addition, i contacted Goddard's home office and they indicated they could do nothing since each facility is franchised. I will say that their employees seemed very capable, but it's a shame that their owner, Robert Chow, doesn't honor commitments made by his employees. read more

My 22 month old daughter was dismissed within a few hours on her very first day from this school. While I do agree that the Goddard School is not the right place for my child, I do feel that I have legitimate concerns that should be expressed concerning her experience there. - The School Director contacted me when my daughter had been there for under 3 hours. She told me that she did not feel that their environment was conducive for my child and recommended that she receive more one-on-one care not in a group environment. The Director, Ms. Tiffany brought to my attention once over the phone and then again when I went to pick up my daughter, that I should bring up certain things she observed in my daughter's behavior that were in her opinion out of the ordinary to her Pediatrician, implying that there was a diagnosis or condition that existed. The things she stated were: very little eye contact, not responding to her name being called, having tunnel-vision while playing, standing on her tip toes (which happens only occasionally with her and is common in children under 2). I answered her with my daughter's side of the story, which she didn't seem at all interested in hearing and certainly did not inquire about. I let her know that my daughter is an only child and is used to uninterrupted play and she is usually allowed to put or fling her toys wherever she wishes. I told her that we don't use her name very often at home and refer to her as baby, or sweetie, and she is not used to being called by her first name. I asked her what she was implying about my child by asking me to bring her to a doctor after just three hours under her care. She was very careful to say that she was not implying anything and was merely trying to be helpful for her next doctor's appointment. This was hard to believe based on her bringing up these things to me twice in the only two conversations that I have had with her ever and within less than an hours time in-between. I then requested to speak with her teacher directly, Ms. Tori. Ms. Tiffany also came to sit down with us when we spoke. Ms. Tori told me that Scarlet did not want to sit down with the other children for lunch, she was insisting on continuing to play with toys, she did not want to sit down with the other children for sing-time, she was not interested in meeting the other children, she would throw a tantrum if picked up and had been looking at books and when done, throwing them over her shoulder. If anyone interrupted what she was trying to do (play), then she would have a tantrum and hit. She mentioned that this wasn't done out of meanness, they were simply in her way and she was frustrated. I pointed out again that Scarlet had never been exposed to this type of environment, it was her very first day, she always ate her meals in a highchair, that she was very possibly being a normal 22-month old in a brand-new environment with strangers all around her and perhaps a little more understanding was needed. Both Ms. Tori and Ms. Tiffany simply nodded their heads but were clearly not interested in hearing any feedback. Ms. Tiffany stated that she had been in this line of work for many years and had seen many 'first-days' and that theirs was not the right environment for my child. I asked her for more specifics as to why this was and she insisted that she could tell me nothing else. - I do not understand why and how the decision to eject her from this school was made before I was even spoken with. I am also concerned that a teacher would be surprised that a toddler in a new environment would be curious and wanting to play and fully inspect her new room- against all other activities - and that this type of behavior was not encouraged and it appeared to be actively discouraged and then punished by immediate dismissal. This appears to go directly against your Mission Statement & Children's Bill of Rights: "We will make the transition from home to school a positive experience. "Each child is treated as a unique individual. They are given individual attention within a group allowing them to progress according to their own needs and rate of development." Children's Bill of Rights: "Every child has the right to personal attention, a relaxed atmosphere and freedom of choices in their daily activities". Since I have placed my daughter in a different structured preschool environment for the past week, she has been flourishing greatly with no issues whatsoever. This further confirms to me that the issue that the Director of the Goddard School had with my daughter, was not really with my daughter and her tactics of stating 'symptoms she observed' in my daughter to bring to the attention of her Pediatrician for reasons why she did not want her at the school is ridiculous and very telling as to what kind of person she is and what kind of environment this school encourages. read more

This is a review for the infant room, ONLY. I can't speak to the previous reviewer's concerns, but I will say that I find it questionable that they don't have a personal Yelp profile. If you have an issue and want to share it with others, Yelp is a perfect place to do it, but creating a "NoName L." account is not really standing behind your experience. It is also important to note that they took their child out of the school in 2012 and recently "updated" their review in June 2014 by just copy and pasting their previous concerns. They haven't had any updated experiences to really talk about. In late 2012, the school was only a few months old and, I have to imagine, there was a big learning curve happening for the owners and staff. I'm hopeful that those early kinks have since been worked out. Also, just to speak to the concerns about the front desk being unmanned. It's extremely rare that I've walked into the school and there hasn't been someone in the front office. Still, you have to put your hand into a hand scanner and enter your personal passcode to get beyond the lobby, so there's an additional layer of security. On to my experience. I chose this school after touring several others in the area. What set it apart for me was the fact that they require their lead teachers to have a degree in childhood education. Most of the other preschools don't require it. I wasn't interested in hiring a glorified babysitter. Many of the other schools also smelled like daycares--you know what I'm talking about. Goddard smells clean, it didn't hurt that classical music played in the halls, instead of screaming children. Also, I didn't see a single runny nose when we toured Goddard, unlike some other snot-laden places, which told me that Goddard actually does send kids home when they are sick and they keep the classrooms and toys clean. My 7 month old daughter has been in the infant room since early February 2014. When she first started, they were searching for a lead teacher. At that time, there were two very sweet assistant teachers holding down the fort until the lead was hired. Fortunately, it was worth the wait and in March 2014, they hired Ms. Kristen. My husband and I feel extremely fortunate that she and her assistant teacher, Ms. Graciela, are at Goddard. They are both loving, cheerful people that are nurturing and patient with all of the kids. Our daughter is in great hands. She is happy when I drop her off and happy when I pick her up. When I walk in the classroom, which is always clean and well-maintained, my daughter is interacting with the other kids and very content. They have daily activities and weekly themes that help drive the curriculum. (I realize it sounds silly for an infant to have a curriculum, but they pick up a lot more than you give them credit for and I appreciate that my daughter is always being challenged.) Despite the fact that there are 8 babies in the room, I'm always amazed at how calm and collected everyone is when I drop in. (I struggle to keep my own house peaceful and I'm only trying to juggle one baby!) The office staff is always kind and polite and, if I've ever had feedback, they have been very receptive to hearing it. If you're looking for a school for your child, Goddard is a great option. read more

My Wife and I removed our Son from another school to bring him here. After touring the school multiple times, it was made clear that cleanliness and involvement were high on the priority list. This was the best decision we've made! Ms. Tori and Ms. Toni have been amazing! We are VERY comfortable and worry free when our boy is with them. My son started this school at 4 months and he loves this school. He just finished first steps with Ms. Stella and she was the best. She is very patient and loves to teach children and care for them. My son learned so many words, colors and animal noises in her class! My son would visit Ms. Josephina in the late afternoon and also developed a close bond to her. Ms. Stella and Ms. Josephina are both wonderful human beings. They love children and their job. The school Director, Ms. Tiffany, does a great job of hiring staff and maintaining a functional team of teachers. They all seem happy and do a great job with children. This is the best preschool in all of Houston! Both of my children have learned and grown so much since they have started. The activities are impressive and the events like the science fair are amazing! The management team goes out of their way to make you feel like family. There's no issue they can't solve. The teachers are very knowledgeable and loving.Even teachers who my children haven't had always greet them by name and welcomes us with a smile. It is very evident that the teachers are happy and love their contributions to the lives of the children. Also if you are lookIng for a place with awesome on sight owners look no further. Please do not send your child to Goddard West Houston, TX. In the very short time my child was in their care the following happened: -Front desk left unmanned on 3 separate occassions (despite being told that "never happens, would never happen again, should never happen" and finally, that they "try not to leave the desk unattended" with the window wide open. -When I voiced my concern about the lack of staff presence at the front desk the owner told me "if someone wants to come in here and shoot everyone they will, there is nothing we can do to stop them". -My child was not fed an afternoon snack because I failed to fill out a part of a form (I wasn't informed of the policy). They never called me to ask about it, they simply skipped a meal for my infant -Waited for over 30 minutes while they tried to find a teacher to come to the class in the morning which resulted in me being late to work. -Had to wait on several occasions for owner/director/teachers to find and copy daily forms. This resulted in me being late to work TWICE in my one week there. -Plastic glove left on low table in childrens reach after arts and crafts time (my mother was in the room to ease my child's transition) --"Sensory Box" left on the floor in the room contained small snowlake decorations which were labled "THIS IS NOT A TOY" and were small enough to be a choking hazard. The owners son (an infant student in the class) was playing with it, I saw and asked the teacher who said "oh, that usually isnt on the floor" and was not overly concerned. -My child managed to get a PAINFUL red diaper rash in her one week there I have removed my child from this facility. There is a reason they are not at full capacity. I urge you to fully investigate any center you choose and don't be afraid to randomly drop in. You will be suprised at what you might find. read more

We chose this school for our toddler son, immediately after the tour we had. (We toured 3 times; twice with an appointment and once as just a drop in) The facility is immaculate, the teachers--and I mean every single one of them that we saw while on the tour, were incredibly sweet, energetic and welcoming. Now that we have been there for nearly a month, its nice to see that compassion continuing. Every morning we walk passed Ms. Fatima and Ms. DeAnna's class. Ms. Fatima has never been my son's teacher, but every morning she's blowing him kisses and waving at him, and he LOVES it! He has a great bond with Ms. DeAnna and looks forward to waving to her. Ms. Tori's class recently welcomed a new teacher. Ms. Toni and she is OUTSTANDING!!! She is so kind and patient and the kids seem to LOVE interacting with her. We are so blessed that our son gets the benefit of both Ms. Tori and Ms. Toni Ms.Tori is our son's lead teacher and she is AMAZING!!!!! She is sooo compassionate, fun, and organized. We have noticed such great changes in our son since being in her class. He dances, sings, does sign language and also is trying to say some spanish words. He loves Ms. Tori! I cannot CANNOT say enough wonderful things about Ms. Tori, Ms. Toni, Ms. Fatima, and Ms. DeAnna... or the school. If a safe, clean, fun facility that focuses on your child's education and personal development is what you are looking for, you MUST bring your child here. read more

We have had problems with the staff consistently showing up on time. 6:30am is closer to 6:45 -7:00am depending on the day of the week. If you are a parent who wishes to utilize the alleged open time of 6:30am, then do not enroll your child here. These concerns have been raised to the management and owner. Us raising the issue corrects the problem temporarily. But eventually, the staff reverts back to strolling in after open. In our experience with other daycare facilities, we never once had an issue with staff showing up on time. Only this one. read more

I must say we made a correct decision by enrolling Siya in your school. I really like the periodic communications and weekly emails you are sending to us. I was quite impressed with the way your management handled the situation of a hoax call of suspicious activity in the Barbara Bush School recently and also the periodic fire drills you conduct. That is an indication of how seriously your management take things aimed at children's safety. Siya also has been enjoying her time in the class and under the guidance of Ms. Vanessa (pls pardon me if I miss-spelt her) and Ms. Tara. The Goddard school (energy corridor) working there I've seen many different things. In the beginning it was a great place to let your child attend. However the kids are not getting the full education that is promised to parents. On tours they make the school seem great when really it's all just for show. I genuinely cared for each child and enjoyed teaching the kids. Every teacher is not there for the kids and it's saddens me I couldn't be apart of that environment anymore. They tell you your child will get a certain snacks when sometimes the snacks are old. Please always send your kids snacks with them or they will be eating dry old snacks. Some teachers are too rough with the kids. Even though management knows they still allow teachers to stay there. Many teachers leave there because of the owner who make employees think it's a great place to work when actually it's all just for show. read more

I am and have always been impressed with the care and the curriculum at The Goddard School. My son has been attending The Goddard School since he was 3 months old. We have experienced four different classrooms, with multiple different teachers and curriculums, and I become more and more impressed with Goddard through our experience in each classroom. My son is now 2, and has already been introduced to Cognitive, Emotional, Motor & Sensory Development, Creative & Language Arts, Music, Science and Self-help/Life Skills. My husband and I love seeing our son's Daily Report showing all of his activities for the day, along with his daily snap-shots. Seeing the smile on his face makes being away from him during the day a little more bearable. I could not ask for a better school to aid in raising my son. Thank you. read more
