The Gold Fish is a shining example of Corpus having and maintaining nice things. There is a common misconception that this city cannot have nice things, and that if we do get them, they do not last very long. The Gold Fish has proven this long-held collective pessimism wrong. Originally a cocktail bar only, it has now expanded into a cocktail, beer and wine outdoor/indoor bar, which makes complete sense given the city's demographic demands. It was actually one of the first businesses I was most concerned with us losing permanently during the pandemic. And I am so glad they have stuck around! It is a modern cocktail bar at its core, which makes it very unique to this city. This is an obvious adoption of cocktail bar trends from other larger cities in Texas. It is very nice, with a wide array of adult beverage options for discriminating consumers to chose from. The atmosphere is perfect, and the bartenders and staff are top-notch and super nice (the attitude is refreshing compared to what one may be used to recieving from such establishments in larger cities). I usually only come here when I have company from out-of-town, as I do not go out for drinks very often. At my most recent visit, I had just experienced a personal tragedy that I only briefly alluded to our bartender when she asked how our day was going. The amount of sincere compassion we received was not expected at all. My only regret is that I did not get her name, or else I would have gladly included it in this review. read more

Dear owners, this has to be one of the BEST BARS I've ever been to in a long time (& I've traveled a lot domestically & internationally). - Wow! Wow! Wow! After attending my first Music Walk (normally known as the Art Walk [1st Friday of each month]), in downtown Corpus Christi, I finally had time to check it out. So worth it! Parking was a breeze. The mixologists were lovely! They served amazing craft cocktails, in my opinion. The ambiance is sexy & the decor is impressive! It got busy just around 11 pm but not too crazy - was still able to get a drink with a tiny wait. Loved the patio area; it was warm but with the high-mounted fans, it was refreshing. Enjoyed the music!! I highly recommend this venue, especially if you are visiting or have out-of-town guests. The drink prices are perfect, by the way. I did notice a food truck as I was leaving but wasn't hungry, however, the food smelled delicious. The lit-up tree was my favorite just after the kick-ass "container" made-shift bar. ***No employees Masks Alert*** 2/5/2021 - visited on a Friday afternoon and was excited try out this cocktail bar I discovered on Yelp... Cool wall from the street and impressive patio area with a lighted artificial tree. When we walked in, 2 female bartenders in the outside bar were prepping their area without masks. One approached and handed us a cocktail menu. We didn't think anything of it as we were outside and no another patrons were around... When sat inside and the same bartender without her mask walked in and approached our table... I asked her about her mask and she reached into her pocket, showed it to me, then walked away w/o taking our order. At this point we should of left as this was rude and unprofessional plus completely dismissive of COVID protocols, but i wanted to try their drinks. We waited for awhile (maybe 8-10 mins) until the other bartender attended us. She was cordial and took our order and promptly returned with drinks. During this waiting time, I noticed the male bartender in the inside bar remove his mask and keep it off for awhile. Writing this I regret staying and ordering the 2 drinks, which were average tasting and definitely not worth the $22 bill ($21 + $1 cc fee) but here I am... I'm disappointed as I was really looking forward to enjoying a nicely crafted cocktail and supporting a local business, but their total disregard for their patrons' health and well being (esp as cases and deaths rise in TX) changed the experience. read more

I'm so glad this place is able to open and operate despite our current situation! This is a quaint and favorite go to spot for a craft cocktail. I am a fan of St. Germain and Prosecco cocktails so the bartender made me a delicious drink to my liking. This place is aesthetically pleasing and the view of the downtown skyline is nice. As far as food goes, they serve small dishes of charcuterie like items. I've gotten the chicken salad twice and it is very tasteful. They are pre packaged and refrigerated. This makes the crackers soggy, but I still enjoyed it. Another plus: an outdoor container bar was added, a separate bathroom for men; and no more loose gravel!! Came here after Rebel Toad Brewing Company. The atmosphere was pretty chill, we came out on a Saturday around 8 PM. It's an indoor/outdoor bar with great lighting. All of the bar tenders were pretty cool dudes. Wish we could've hung longer cause they have live music and it was gonna be a jazz singer. Will be checking out again, the drinks are tasty and decently priced. There is a fire pit in the back to keep warm and they had those warming stations set up as well so don't let the cold deter you from checking the place out. read more

Super casual place. Great place to come with a date nice small spot. Monday they have open mic, the concept is totally awesome when you walk in straight ahead is the bar. They have a nice small seating inside and nice seating outside. Makes you feel like home, the bartender is super nice and they will recommend very nice cocktails and drinks. There is plenty of parking outside, they are open till late at night. They have beers that you haven't heard or tasted so ask. Drinks are reasonably priced and many to choose from. Great place! I came here with friends for a birthday gathering and stayed late. Plenty of parking available and easy access. The Gold Fish is also a short walk from downtown hotels, restaurants, businesses and other bars. What I like most about this bar is the outdoor option where you can sit comfortably at a picnic table on cool nights enjoying cocktails or mix with friendly people. This must be one of the oldest buildings in the downtown area, and it's nice to see how the city has grown around it with modern office towers nearby. If the weather is warm, there is room inside with A/C and a tavern-like atmosphere. Being in corpus for the first time. This place was definitely recommended for me because of my background. It's small and they've a patio with a couple of benches outside. The bar is pretty small because it can maybe fit 3 or 4 people and they have two windows to order from. I went with my friend Carlos to try and have a good time. The moment we walked up I ordered a negroni and the guy free pours the Campari and gin and then measures out the vermouth. The whole drink wasn't consistent and it left a bad taste in my mouth. The only plus side is that they had a live band that night we came in and they were slaying if you know what I'm saying. Come for the music and support them. The bar? Maybe grab a beer. read more

This place is an adorable addition to downtown Corpus, I'm excited it opened! This place is, I believe, a dry-cleaners converted into a mini beer-garden/bar. The vibe is very rustic and sort of Spanish, so it fits in perfectly with the location. There is technically one bar, but two places on the bar where you can order drinks. My friend and I tried their Sangria and decided to get it. It was so delicious and fresh tasting, I'll probably get it again when I go back. There's both inside and outside seating. The weather was lovely when I went, so the the wide doors for the building were opened to let the cool breeze in. The decor is great and the small elements included, like the cute coasters and the hanging plants really build the ambiance of the place. This place is great for larger groups, as well. All of the seating is in the form of something like a picnic table, so you're bound to sit next to someone anyways. Hours are a little strange, but they just opened so hopefully they'll expand them. The Goldfish is a wonderful addition to the downtown bar scene. It is a little bit on the expensive side, but those prices would be considered sort of normal in any large city. I don't think they have a happy hour, which is sort of a bummer, but perhaps they'll eventually include one later on. I think they place is great if you just want to catch up with a friend over drinks or need a place to take someone from out of town. read more

I instantly became attracted to this place once I tried it , the Vibe is outstanding , Great Music, Great Food Trucks , Superb Service, and Great Clientele . It's very low key and perfect for a hangout with friends or an intimate date. The best part of course are the fresh and delicious cocktails. Everything is handmade with fresh ingredients. I literally saw the bartender cutting fresh strawberries for my cocktail. I last had a strawberry mojito. It was fresh, balanced, fruity and not overly sweet. Service can be kinda slow because it's a small place, usually with only one or two bartenders. But the quality of cocktail is worth the wait. I love the atmosphere, I always have a great time here. Their mojitos are my absolute favorite and they are dog friendly! Most of all, it's never been too loud to hear my groups conversation, and I appreciate that. Others bars play music too loud, which bothers my ears and keeps me from being able to understand anyone talking. The Gold Fish plays music at a good volume where I can enjoy both the music and talking with my friends. Definitely recommend visiting! read more
