My daughter and I had an excellent stay here. The rooms are clean and modern. I really like the repurposed furniture. The shower area is a little too rugged (unfinished concrete) but it didn't weigh heavily on my stay. We had an excellent view of the sunset and of the pool area from our deck. The pool area including the hot tub were clean and perfectly maintained. Having to get pool towels from the front desk was a bit of an inconvenience but not a huge one. The free breakfast is above and beyond the complimentary hotel breakfast. Every employee I encountered was friendly and happy to help. While it was a little pricey,it as well worth it because of the incredible time we had. It is also on only a short one block walk to main street restaurants and shopping. read more

The Gonzo Inn is a charming, well decorated hotel off of Main Street. The grounds are spacious and lush, right on the creek. The bed is just the right amount of firm, and is a large king. The deck areas have comfy chairs to sit in and enjoy the surroundings, which is really nice. The hotel staff is really friendly and very accommodating. The continental breakfast served in the morning is nicely done, a step up from what you would find at a Holiday Inn Express. The gift shop has a variety of cute logo shirts. Parking is adequate, although it can get a little tight to maneuver with all the jeeps and suv's when it's full. The only downside to the hotel is the complete lack of insulation around the pipes and the walls--if you're on the first floor you hear the water running and the sounds of people upstairs using the toilet. Since people who stay here are doing a variety of activities, some are up late at night while some are up pre-dawn, which means you can be awakened by the sounds of the people around you night and morning. And if you're right next to the laundry room, you can hear the washers and driers going all day long. Unfortunately this is a construction issue, so I don't think it can be fixed now. I would stay here again, but I would definitely recommend requesting a 2nd floor room if available. read more

This hotel is in a great location just off Main Street. The landscape is lovely and keeps things a bit cooler when temps heat up. Beds are comfortable and bathroom have the minimal necessities. I really enjoy the showers in the room. They have an outdoor feel with the cement wall and doorless entry. For cyclists there is bike storage, wash and stand available too. The pool is refreshing, although there is minimal shade so the deck and chairs can get really hot. I give this place 3 stars because there are a few things they could do to up the game. Breakfast is decent. Your run of the mill pancake machine, cereal and yogurt. All rooms come with kitchen, only sink and fridge but no utensils or plates. I went to cut an apple and all I could find was a set of plastic silverware. If you want a quiet stay get a top floor. The walls are thin and we were woken up early by pounding footsteps above us. The staff is good but could be more professional. These are small points to increase their star rating from me. Overall this is a great hotel for a 3-4 night stay for you recreational addicts. read more

Great location, big comfy bed which cradled our tired bones. The friend who ended up on the fold out was less than comfortable. Gonzo should consider upgrading to a higher quality fold out. Was able to access the house computer and reprint maps for motorcycle ride home. Grey mark 1.: Inattentive desk clerk - I called ahead (twice, once day of check in) to ensure that a package that was to be delivered by UPS would be delivered to my sister when she checked in. Fail - no call or notice that package had arrived. Thank goodness I recognized the distinctive packaging behind the desk when I checked in much later in the evening. Grey mark 2. Night clerk was irritated when requested to make up fold up bed while we were out for the evening, responding that she would see to it, if there was time. The bed was nicely made up when we returned to our room. Again, great room, great hotel, fair price. read more

Good eclectic hotel only paces away from my favorite restaurant desert bistro. Room was nice. It did smell like cigarettes (I didn't ask to swap rooms at the behest of my husband, although I am sure they would have had I asked). The complimentary breakfast was really nice. The hotels in Moab are all in all pretty pricey and the "lower end" hotels are over $100 from what I found on my visit. I found this spot through Yelp and becuase of the reviews decided to book here since it was basically the same price as Motel 6 and Best Western. I was beyond satisfied. The room was nice, clean and cozy. They have good toiletry options and the breakfast was pretty good too. The wifi, unlike for other reviewers, didn't give me too much trouble. I did find that my entire time in Utah I had issues with my phone, so maybe that was their problem (not the hotel specifically). The bed was super cozy and they have really awesome pillows. I wish I could have slept longer but I had things to get to afterall, I was in Moab to see and do things. Also, it's not far from Arches and close to everything you will need in town - food, gas, drinks, coffee, etc - you can walk / drive with no problem. Stay here, its definitely better than the other spots within the same price range, and maybe better than some of the other spots that you'll pay a bit more for. read more

Checked in on a hot afternoon, but the room was cool and the pool water was very refreshing. Everything about this place is great - beds, linens, towels, service and cleanliness. Coffee in the room via Keurig, very nice. No complaints except that the shower head needs fixing so that is stays upright, but I let the front desk know, so it should be fixed soon. read more

I just don't understand all the 5 star ratings for this hotel. We booked a room for 4 people and ended up in a second floor room with one bedroom and a squeaky, uncomfortable roll out couch. The room had a dungeony vibe (was dark at all hours of the day and night) and a musty, cigarette smell. I wouldn't mind if we weren't paying $300 a night and this hotel wasn't listed as a "luxury" hotel. We spent as much time as possible on our porch area, to escape the stench of the room, I was even considering keeping my suitcase on the porch in an effort to prevent them from absorbing the smell of the room. Even on the porch, the hot air blasting from the air conditioning machinery made an uncomfortable environment. read more

Really enjoyed our stay. We had just been camping in Grand Tetons so needed a nice place to stay after a very long drive. We booked a suite with a King bed and it was great. Loved the decor in the room. It was really well down and very clean. The bathroom was also unique. I appreciated the microwave in the room along with the cabinets and plastic utensils. The continental breakfast had a wide variety of choices including blueberry waffles which were quite good. The hotel is located right downtown near everything. When you are in Moab you need to check this place out. read more

Clean! Friendly staff. Awesome showers. Lots of good pillows. Bed was comfy. It was a standard motel but it had its own southwest flair and homey feel. It felt like a bed n breakfast but not. My husband and I have stayed here twice and both times it's been outstanding. This is a very unique hotel, very eclectic looking with a superior staff. The Gonzo is by far the best place to stay in Moab. They have a bike check for all of the mountain bikers that are rolling through. Additionally, their pool is very well kept and clean. A definite must if your going to Moab. read more

This was a nice hotel but when we got there to check in, the room was not ready and the clerk said to wait by the pool and she would come get us. The lady went home and didn't even inform the new employee. The tv didn't work but they ended up fixing them. Nice place but expensive. read more

We really enjoyed our stay at the Gonzo Inn. The rooms appear to have been recently updated and were very comfortable. The decor is funky, which is part of the charm. There was a nice private patio accessed from the room (with features to ensure our security). The breakfast good. We were in Moab to visit Arches National Park. We didn't realize how nice Moab was before our stay. If we have a chance to go back, we will stay for several days. We were very pleased with the two restaurants, Zax and Peace Tree, that we tried. read more

This place was pretty good. It wasn't expensive, but i thought it was overpriced for what it was. The rooms were a little run down looking, but comfy bed! The pool was great- just what we needed. And they had a good grassy area that my dog had a good time running around in. I'm not sure this area was intended for dogs, but no one seemed to get on my case. We love the Gonzo! We discovered it years ago by accident when another motel had a computer glitch and we went looking for a place to stay. The suites are great because we can shop and eat in the room if we want, hang out in the living room, spread out. Spacious. Excellent bathrooms. Great balconies with views on the west side. On a quiet side street near a trail for walking and biking. Good beds and linens. The breakfast is ok but needs more protein. HB eggs every day would be great but this doesn't cost them star! read more

I LOVE THE GONZO INN!!!! No other hotel in Moab holds a candle to it!! I want to shout from the rooftops about how amazing the Gonzo is, but instead I'll list the reasons we'll be back: -The property is absolutely gorgeous. We toured it about a year before our first stay, and the lobby, grounds, and rooms, have a fun theme while still being luxurious and classy. It's also small enough (43 rooms I believe) to make for a very cozy, quiet environment. Whoever came up with this hotel's concept is a genius! - The staff are wonderful. The housekeepers and breakfast attendants were so friendly. Jerry at the front desk is the best--He is the one who checked us in recently as well as the one who let us tour the property a year ago, and his personality impressed us both times. He knows so much about the history of the hotel (and Dr Thompson's influence on the theme! Love it!), he was so accommodating with our requests, and he got us checked in quickly without missing any amenities or details. He knows the meaning of true hospitality, which I really appreciate after staying at lower quality hotels in Moab. - The BEDS!! These beds make other hotel beds seem like prison cots! I have never been so comfortable in my life! Everyone in my family loved the beds and we usually never agree on hotel beds. -The location is perfect. It's a stone's throw to all the great Main Street shops and restaurants, but tucked away just enough to be peaceful and quiet. -The patios are spacious and just as cute as the rooms themselves! They are very private and quiet. -The [seasonal] breakfast is great with lots of choices. They have plenty of high-protein and healthy options like boiled eggs and oatmeal as well as indulgences like pastries and muffins and waffles. Nobody will go hungry! Additionally, they have a great patio space to eat outside. -The shower is great. There is plenty of water pressure/hot water, and my 6'5 husband appreciated the high shower head. -Soft towels!!! -The walls are thick. We never heard any neighbors or slamming doors. -They have a great green initiative for housekeeping services--If you opt out from housekeeping, you get a free espresso drink or a $5 coupon to use at their gift shop. -The pool has a super cool tile bottom. Not only do my husband and I love this place, but my parents (who are extremely picky and particular about hotels) said that Gonzo Inn is what made their first Moab trip such a wonderful and memorable one.
