On Friday, August 12th, 2022, at 9:15 am, I went to the Good Feet Store at the Summit Mall, Birmingham, Alabama in search of custom orthotics for my running shoes. I specifically advised that I wanted custom orthotics, what I was sold by the salesmen Kenneth, was standard arch supports that are "one size fit all", not personally fit or adjusted for my feet. I was advised that I would be 100% satisfied with my purchase or that I could bring them back, no issues. I wore the first shoe inserts in a "system" of four inserts on the way home and noticed that they caused my feet pain. I called the store the following morning, (Saturday, August 13th, 2022) as soon as they opened to advise of my foot pain, to include swollen feet, blisters and cramping after I wore the inserts as instructed for the entire day before and out running on the morning of the 13th. After speaking with the store's representative, Logan, and explaining to him what was going on with my feet after wearing the inserts as instructed, I told him that I was in route to return the inserts and he quickly informed me that I could not have a refund. Never was I told before my purchase that the arch supports were not returnable. I was asked to initial the receipt that said the footwear, Brooks running shoes, that I purchased were not returnable. The salesmen, Kenneth, waited until after the sale was complete to even advise that the footwear, was not returnable, he said nothing of the inserts being "not returnable". Kenneth also stated that you have to purchase new running shoes in order for the initial insert in the "system" to work effectively, as the inserts will only work in "new shoes". When I asked to speak with my salesperson Kenneth, I was told that he was with a client and would call me back. He did not call me back; I was only connected with him after I called a second time. When I did speak to Kenneth, he advised me that he had never heard of anyone getting blisters, and that I should continue to wear the inserts, but to cut down on the initial recommended time. On Sunday, August 14th, I consulted with a medical professional at Urgent Care who advised me that I needed to consult a podiatrist and discontinue use of the inserts, as they would continue to cause the blisters, swelling, and cramping to worsen and that I was doing more damage.I have now scheduled an appointment with a podiatrist to have professional/medical attention and true orthotics made and to document the condition caused by the inserts from the Good Feet Store.
The Good Feet Store should be investigated for making false claims, selling a substandard product that could cause serious injury or damage and guaranteeing that their "system" would work without any medical professionals present in store to offer medical assessments. Additionally, I was promised my full satisfaction and told that these inserts would change my life. I was misled by the sales representative into believing that providing arch support, would correct my foot issue, which, only a full sized custom orthotic can do. I was never told about the return policy, especially since it is not posted in the store. Good Feet's representations are false & misleading. It's truly disheartening. read more
