As a guy who spends weekend smoking brisket and pork butts, getting BBQ out is usually disappointing in the states, let alone Sweden. I was either very homesick or super curious about what Swedish BBQ would be like. In hindsight it was a little of both. Ordered a cocktail and the BBQ sampler. Cocktail was fine. The menu is littered with sweet cocktails like many restaurants. Was hoping for something boozy but that's not to be found. The sampler was good overall. Portions were sufficient but certainly small by American standards. Not sure that's the appropriate frame of reference but it is smaller. Highlights/ Lowlights - let's start with the key differentiator of good BBQ, brisket. The brisket had good bark and was smokey but no smoke ring makes me think it was liquid smoke. It was cooked well but a cardinal sin was committed. The brisket was cut in the wrong direction making it stringy. - variety of sides and veggies were nice. Pickled items were good. Potato salad was unevenly cooked. - cornbread tasted good but fell apart in the hand -BBQ sauce and chipotle sauce were nice. BBQ didn't quite fall into Texas or KC style. It was thick but had a sweet and sour taste. Not bad but not Texas. - ribs were rough. Short little ribs that were over cooked. They weren't baby back. Just the small end of spare ribs. Or maybe they were cut. - fried chicken was good. It was thigh meat cut away from the bone. Tasted good but if you're looking for a traditional fried chicken, you'll be disappointed. - sausage was actually the highlight of the whole meal. It had a crispy skin and good flavor. Was almost like a Chinese sausage. All in all a good experience. Not the best BBQ in the world but certainly good for being in a Nordic country. Would recommend it if you keep and open mind about where you are.

This bar/restaurant offered me a small piece of Austin during my travels. I can say I didn't eat here because I typically avoid American dining while traveling aboard. My husband and I did, however, enjoy a drink so we could take in the Austin scenery. My husband ordered a Texas Amber beer and I ordered a local cider. Overall a cool place and would recommend all to check it out.

September 28 - October 1, 2025…read more Really enjoyed our stay here at Hotel At Six. Modern design, friendly staff, amazing breakfast buffet and great dinner options. We really didn't have to leave the hotel! The rooms are on the dark side but I thought it was nicely done. The bathroom had heated floors in the room and that was a nice touch. We also loved having a little afternoon espresso in the room too. We didn't get to try the gym nor the sauna... but boy did we enjoyed the breakfast buffet?! I noticed they really are super thoughtful with oat or lactose free milk as a tea/coffee pairing. They also had a section catered to gluten free/vegan clientele. I was surprised to see that. The yogurt was also lactose free, really an Asian person heaven! All the food we've had here were so delicious and I can't stop thinking about the yogurt toppings. The sweetened plum was my favorite, a little chew and lightly sweetened with a hint of cinnamon. The beds were super comfortable for us and the goose down comforter was light but warm. All in all it was a wonderful experience, centrally located and easy to get to places. Connected to a mall too. Close to the central train station. I am already dreaming about coming back for their breakfast buffet.... Drool!

Coffee maker with good coffee in the room. Robes and slippers. We asked at the front desk for more coffee and creamers and in a short time, someone came up with more. There is also turn-down where they refill the coffee, but one night they missed our room. The closet area is small. I used all the hangers and double hung my clothes that had fit in my backpack. Large umbrella available. The breakfast buffet was nice with freshly made croissants and cardamon rolls, fruits, yogurts, eggs, breakfast meat. Of interesting note was that I didn't see any normal creamer for coffee but oak milk so non-dairy people - rejoice. One day, we did ask for creamer or milk from someone. Opens 6:30 am weekday; 7:30 am weekends. There is a free gym and saunas (men and women's). The women's sauna felt like a good temperature and size. The men's sauna was out of order in April. At night, we used our Fine Hotel $100 credit at the bar. They had interesting and tasty drinks in a quiet, chill atmosphere.

After food we ordered coffee. My coffee was served in a glass (not a cup) and was so hot I could not lift it off the table(!) This was very odd. The waitress was quick to move my content to a takeaway cup (what I asked for), but it still seemed a strange thing to do and I wonder if it was a mistake or if they serve coffee in glasses regularly...

And I didn't even have booze! The staff was very attentive; I guess my face was underwhelmed at what I was eating, because my server came over to check on me regularly. I would not complain to them, because I felt it was my fault for expecting "American brunch." This was European style with a few interpretations of American breakfast foods. The steak and eggs: tiny, but flavorful and cooked right, pieces of steak; the scrambled eggs were different than what I grew up with, but they were okay (a little salty for me). The truck stop potatoes were ... there. The juice was good, freshly squeezed; the berry smoothie was okay. I literally had one bite of the citron muffin and no more: so. Dry. If you're at the hotel, or part of a post-party night group, maybe this is the spot: great music, bright decor, central location. If, like me, you're a homesick American from Cali who's lived in the Midwest and South, you won't find something close to home here.
