Good selection of cheeses and accompaniments. I was also very pleased with the customer service and knowledge of cheese.

I mean... where to begin?…read more DiBruno Brothers is an institution in Philly that lives up to the hype. Amazing boutique foods, cheeses, butcher shops, funky coffees, sandwiches and more. The staff is super knowledgeable and helpful, and the hustle and bustle of the place makes it feel like an experience. The store doesn't waste an inch of space, so be prepared to literally have to look high and low for what you need, but you'll find gems along the journey.

We walked in for a late lunch and were overwhelmed by all our options. There's also a butcher's shop if you want fresh meats, and a designated cafe section for beverages and pastries to go. I chose an eggplant sandwich, which was thinly sliced, breaded, and fried, with mozzarella, and artichokes. The sandwich itself was so filling. The chips and pickle were an added bonus. They heated it for us before we went upstairs to eat. There's a quieter section with more ambiance upstairs, so we enjoyed the ac while we ate. I came back a few days later for a strawberry shortcake, and it was worth the trip. I love cake, so the miniature options were appealing and practical. Most of the cakes range from $12-30..Which is not a bad price for how much you get!

I believe we got the Ribeye Cheesesteak with onions and peppers, and it was hands down one of the best cheesesteaks I've ever had. Normally, I'm not a fan of seeded bread and I usually don't like peppers either, but somehow everything worked perfectly together. The creamy cooper American cheese, the soft yet crunchy bread and the thinly sliced ribeye made for such an incredible combination. And much to my surprise the peppers actually added a really nice touch and brought everything together. The portion was absolutely massive, but the flavor was so good that it was hard to stop eating it. Definitely a cheesesteak I'd happily have again!

Ordered one cheese steak and waffle fries w/ cheese to share and it was MORE than enough for two people. Very good cheese steak, especially the bread, but everything was very salty... Biggest complaint is telling you go up stairs or outside after ordering... no thanks! Also, I went to grab the food and had a weird interaction as they forgot my fries and then I went back to get them and they wanted my name, but they never asked for a name on the order... Then a guy just gave me the rest of my order... Weird. Good food, but strange interactions with staff made it a little unpleasent.

Well, I bought cheese for 100 people because I felt like it (lol). If you are one of the few avid readers of my reviews, you probably know that TooGoodToGo is what I used. This is a hard deal to get and make time for. I have been to High Fidelity and 20th St. Pizza, which uses this cheese. Why would Bandit use TooGoodToGo? More like why not. In keeping in line with vegan ideals and sustainability, minimizing waste and allowing others a chance to get a good deal on a quality product is a winner in my book. I wouldn't be surprised if this was a one man operation but a damn good one. A man who I picked up my cheese from seemed to match up with the picture of the owner on the website. A cooler with cheeses for the many people who ordered. I only could buy one when I saw this pop up. It really is out of my way and I don't have a lot of time to get this deal. It is also not offered often. So it was nice to get in on this. When you pick up cheese, you meet outside Persimmon coffee. So, the wholesaler room, wherever it is, is off limits unless you want to buy cheese for 100 people. Then maybe not haha. This or multiple places in the Bok building would be a nice place to have a Yelp Elite event. Their website shows that they used to be called Conscious Cultures. A name I like more. The name, Bandit, makes it feel like the company ran away from a grassroots environment to a more official brand. Kind of like Katy Perry's The One That Got Away but with cheese instead (rolls eyes at appropriately bad, cheesy reference). The idea that this is kind of hard to get as a deal but feasible feels like that secret that any foodie has gotta experience. It seems you can get this cheese at its regular prices at Di Bruno's and a few other local markets in (Hockessin, Skippack) co-ops, and restaurants. Say, Merzbacher's and Bandit collab at future wine events?

My party of three recently visited The Cheesesteak Bar. When we first arrived, we noticed the…read morerestaurant was much smaller than expected. It's set up more like a bar, with a bar area and a few high-top tables, making it a very compact space. Our bartender, Terence, was absolutely amazing. He was attentive, pleasant, professional, and provided top-tier customer service throughout our visit. Between the three of us, we ordered a cheesesteak, a chicken cheesesteak, a salmon cheesesteak, and an order of fries with peppers and onions. The food was excellent--very flavorful, fresh, and honestly, we had no complaints about the quality of the meal. Unfortunately, our overall experience was overshadowed by a food safety concern and the way it was handled. There was a young woman working behind the bar with very long blonde braids hanging well past her waist. Her hair was completely uncovered and swinging freely while she worked. Given how small the restaurant is, we were concerned about the possibility of hair ending up in someone's food or drink. We politely mentioned our concern to our bartender and asked if she could cover or secure her hair. Terence handled the situation professionally and relayed our concern to another employee who appeared to be the manager. The response we heard was, "She's not around any food." That explanation didn't make sense to us. She was working behind the bar in a very small establishment, and the kitchen is only a few steps away. More importantly, proper hair restraint is a basic food safety practice in food service environments. Afterward, the employee went to the back and returned with her hair wrapped into a bun. Instead of simply addressing the concern professionally, she looked directly at our table, rolled her eyes, and gave us an attitude that made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. It was rude, unprofessional, and completely unnecessary. We were simply expressing a legitimate concern about sanitation, not trying to be difficult. It's unfortunate because the food was very good and Terence provided outstanding service. However, the unprofessional response to a reasonable concern left such a negative impression that I will not be returning. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and reinforces both food safety standards and professional customer service, because both are just as important as serving great food. I hope this helps the restaurant improve while also giving future customers an honest account of your experience
