I really like this movie theater, and this is the only negative incident I've experienced here. I've been coming here for about 2 years. I had two great PG-13 experiences at this theater: IT and Black Panther. Both features were viewed after 7:30 pm. Both viewings were fantastic interactive experiences with the other movie goers. So, when I recently went to watch a PG-13 movie, I was excited! Well, 2 hours later, I found myself in 'mom'-mode protecting a young lady from a movie theater full of kids. Don't even ask what the movie was about because I have no idea! I spent the entire movie having popcorn thrown on me, my seat being kicked, kids constantly walking in front of the movie screen, begging security/management to do something about the kids fighting in the theater, and basically making sure a young lady didn't get beat. The end result was a mob, several fights, police being called, me witnessing a young lady get punched in her head, and just pure madness! When I returned the next day, the manager on duty said that I should have approached them yesterday (the night of the event) to ask for my refund. She gave me some free tickets and also advised that maybe I shouldn't come to a PG-13 on the weekend after 7 pm. (Note: She was not one of the managers on duty the night before so she certainly did not understand the complete chaos that had ensued!) So here's the tip: I'm not telling you to avoid Galleria. I still go to the movies here. However, please Doomsday Prep for your movie experience if you want to view a popular PG-13 after 7 pm at this movie theater when school is out.

The movie had all the elements to impress! The lighting, the cinematography, the acting were on par. One unbelievable fact is that the music was all original! It was an awesome event! Phillip Serafin is a writer that really deserves recognition for all of the hard work he put into writing and making this film production happen! The coolest thing was the actors in the movie all showed up for this premiere showing! We were able to mill around in the lobby and meet the actors which was super cool! This was a sold out event! The only thing up to date about this theater is that the seats are numbered, so you get to choose your seat when buying your ticket. The website mentions they have a GTX theater that stands for Grand Theater Experience. I have yet to see that offered with any of the movies I've gone to see, but I would love to check it out. When ordering online, you have the option to order tickets through Fandango or Georgia Theater Company. Both options offer rewards, but I prefer fandango since I can use my rewards at any theater across the country who uses them. The ticket booth is a riot. There is one young man who usually manages the booth as you walk in, and he is hilarious. Great personality, and he will tell you all the important things to look out for like sneak peaks after the credits. GTC Houston Lakes is by far the best theater in a 20-mile radius.

Once our server, Diamond, greeted us, we learned they were dealing with a few operational issues, including a limited food menu, a nonfunctioning call button, and unfortunately, no working AC in the theater. Despite the circumstances, Diamond was excellent. She was attentive, communicative, and kept us informed throughout the movie. Management also handled the situation well, coming into the theater to offer guests a full refund and a pass for another movie. We were also given the option to wait about 20 minutes and move to another auditorium showing the same film. I decided to stay and was still able to order a pepperoni pizza and some candy from the limited menu. The pizza was good, but that ranch deserves its own mention because it was surprisingly delicious. Technical issues happen, and I appreciated how both Diamond and management handled a less than ideal situation. iPic will definitely continue to be my theater of choice, and Diamond's service made a big difference in the overall experience.

With all of that being said this place has an endearing quality. It has a box office out front that gives you actual tickets which is super nostalgic. I assume one of the owners was the one selling tickets and she was super nice. The interior feels like it transports you back to days gone by. Lots of gold fixtures and nostalgic ceiling tiles. The seats while old were very cushiony and had an old timey feel. The projector and sound seem to be upgraded to digital. Unfortunately it was super hot in there and I wish the AC was colder. Overall I had a decent time and it's cool to have a theater in a small town. This theater is the same distance away from me as a multiplex. I'll probably just keep going to the newer theater.

They played for about 30 minutes (and we spent about 15-20 mins of that time getting refreshments). My 4yo tired of the movie before it ended. She was begging to go home about 2/3 of the way through the movie and complaining that "this movie is too long!"...but I'm certain that was about the amount of previews and commercials that happened on the front end.
