The food was excellent! We had Gyros which were very good. The lemon rice soup was also very good. We finished it off with some Rice Pudding. Not like my Mom would make but a close second. I came here on the recommendation of my parents, and it was good. The place was clean and very modern vibes on the inside. The guy at the counter was nice and friendly. The food came out fairly quickly too which is nice. The bowl the salad was in was a bit of an issue everytime we took a bite half the salad would fall out because there was no room for it to move. But it tased good as well as my Lamb Souvlaki. The feta fries were ok the fries were nice and crispy but the cheese on top was a bit congealed. Overall it was an good spot to try out. read more

Hubby & I stopped by for a late lunch. Hubby ordered a gyro with fries & a drink (Coke products) while I got just a gyro (don't like Coke products). The service was friendly & helpful. We got our food within 7 minutes. I tasted hubby's fries & they were delicious. The gyros were also tasty & fresh. Hubby got some baklava to go. We haven't yet found a Greek place in Dayton that we all really like. We aren't big fans of the pot roast style meat of a town favorite; we prefer the rotisserie-style mashup of beef and lamb. The Great Greek perfectly fit the bill for us! Mom and the hubby had gyro, and I love that Great Greek does add lettuce, tomato, and onion to theirs, with a generous serving of tzatziki sauce throughout the sandwich, not just on top like an afterthought. For my husband's to-go gyro, they thoughtfully separate ingredients so nothing is soggy when it gets home. Well done! I got the classic Greek salad, and you can add a wide variety of toppers, including gyro meat, chicken, shrimp, salmon, steak, even falafel and dolmades. Everything is prepped fresh, as I was told by the awesome franchise manager (this is currently the only location in Ohio). My salad was a dream. The absolute perfect balance of all ingredients, including the house-made Greek dressing. No skimping on olives, tomatoes, cukes, or meat. My only suggestion would be to offer a choice between tzatziki sauce or hummus on the side for dipping the 4 yummy pieces of pita bread. The hummus was great, though I prefer it a bit more garlicky and lemony than the norm; I used my slice of lemon to juice my hummus for some zing. Even the bread was great - some places serve pita that chews forever. This was just right fresh. Happy to have found them by accident in the shopping plaza across the driveway from Panda Express outside Costco. Now can't wait to go back! read more

My second visit to The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill was extremely disappointing. The food quality, service, and overall experience were unacceptable. My lamb was served raw, and the rice was slimy and clearly not prepared properly. When I brought these concerns to the server's attention, the response was simply a brief apology with no effort to correct the issue or improve the experience. It was obvious that customer satisfaction, food quality, and service standards were not a priority. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed. We had a family carry out for four last night. We got the chicken Gyro mix, Hummus and Tzatziki sauce $74.00 and a large individual salad $9.95. The packaging of the food was done very well so we were able to use the containers it came in to serve family stile. The Gyro meat was the best I've tasted. The pulled pork was delicious. The screened chicken was a little dry, but the sauces helped there. The Greek salad was delicious and plenty for four to have a good plate. The server was very helpful in suggesting this package. I can't say anything about the Ambiance as I didn't pick the food up and I am so sorry I didn't take a picture of our food as it was very impressive. read more

This place is a cute hidden place. Took me a minute to find it. It's off of Alex Bell near 48 in Centerville. Is small with about 8 tables or so. The Gyro was huge and they actually add a little lettuce which I love. Many traditional gyros only have onion and tomato. The pita was fresh making the whole thing delicious. The order of fries was huge. They sprinkle the fries with Feta Cheese then melts mozzarella over it all. There was a perfect percentage of cheese to fries to allow cheese in every bite. They have vegetarian options too. I definitely think it is worth a try with delicious food. read more

Dirty - My shoes stuck to floor throughout restaurant and restroom, visibly not clean. Food is overpriced. $40 for two gyros, fries and soft drinks. Fries tasted like they were cooked in old, stale oil. This restaurant has gone down hill since opening. We've eaten here a few times and portions used to be larger and the space was clean. Tip: even if you pre-order, assume it'll take longer. The negative: portions are inconsistent. Even with same (SAME) order. For instance I ordered two sides of rice and one was like a quarter cup and one was like half a cup. For the price... I probably should have gotten a full cup on both. Same with the chicken... two sides and one was twice the quantity of the SAME side. WTF? They can be kind of slow... i preorder and show up and still have to wait a long time after the estimated time. They're nice and apologetic which goes a long way. But the inconsistency in serving size is really bothering me because I never know what I'm getting. read more

Although I haven't had the opportunity to try a lot of the menu, what I have tried is delicious. The hummus is flavorful and fresh, the pita is soft and warm and the baklava is absolutely amazing. Everything is made fresh to order so have patience when you go! The service is always friendly and the management does a really great job. I've never eaten in but for the size of the place there is a good amount of seating. It does fill up easily though! I can't wait to try more of the menu. Edited to add: for those folks who visited when they first opened and left negative reviews...give them another chance! As someone who worked in food service for 20+ years, new restaurants almost always have a few kinks to work out. The first baklava I got from here was good...not great. Just tried The Great Greek...not satisfied. Got the falafel plate. It's advertised to come with a salad, no salad. Just 6 pieces of falafel that look like half dollars- yes, flat on each side, which is like no falafel I've had before....2 tbsps of hummus, a pita, and fries. My mom got the Souvlaki plate. She said the rice was too salty and the chicken was dry. I called to seek resolution for not getting my full meal, I could only leave a voicemail. I can not overstate how much pulling some strangers hair out of your mouth because it was in the food just completely ruins your meal, your experience, and whether you ever go back to a restaurant. Here's an idea. EVERY FOOD SERVICE WORKER SHOULD WEAR A HAIR NET. Why isn't this a requirement? I pulled hair out of my mouth and the entire meal was just wasted because of it. My wife and I came in on 12/04/25 realling looking forward to trying the food. We recently moved to the area and are looking for some great Greek food. Went to the counter and we were told by the girl there that they weren't taking any orders until 130PM. It was about 1250 or so. I asked why and she said they were backed up in the kitchen. When we came in and were waiting at the counter, a mobil order guy came in and she promptly waited on him and gave him his pick up order. Apparently, this place will put it's moble customers first. Very poor service, not any kind of appologetic "Hey were super busy and if you can hang out we'll cut you a discount" Or, "Hey, happy to take your order but the kitchen is backed up and it will be 20 minutes." So, went in with the spouse for a lunch. We love Mediterranean food and have tried about every place in the area but hadn't yet hit this place since opening. The staff was friendly, they asked if we'd been there before which we hadn't so they comped our drinks which was so nice... So I am SO SO sorry for what I am about to do. This was the worst Greek food I've had in the region and I'm counting festival food served to me by midwestern church ladies who think a loaded potato is Irish food. We got two falafel platters, mine with feta fries and his with rice. Going item by item: The falafel: Small, non crunchy, fried(?), pucks with mostly a cumin taste and a mealy texture that broke to mush in your mouth like dry polenta. I'm hesitant to classify them as falafel... If you've ever left refried beans out on the counter until they get kind of dry and crackly they'd probably make a better falafel substitute than these. The fries: They were fine themselves but upgrading them to feta fries was a criminal mistake on my part. They were topped with stringy mozzarella and only enough feta crumbles to serve as garnish. The feta had no taste, the mozzarella tasted like Kraft shredded, it was unsalted overall and as a bonus the cheese ruined any crunch the fries would have had. There was a sprinkling of oregano and a lemon on the side that did their best to impart some flavor but in the end they failed. I actually threw fries away. I'm chubby and love fries... I've never wasted any in my LIFE. The salad: Was fine actually, fresh, good dressing. The rice: The orzo in it was brown like it had been fried... like Rice-a-Roni. Tasted vaguely like broth but no seasoning otherwise. Texture was fine. The hummus was okay, passable. Could use more tahini to add nuttiness, and more lemon for tang. Salt also... the whole meal was lacking in salt, and I only ever reach for salt at a restaurant if I have over easy eggs. That's it. Look, Mr. Shawarma, Gyro Palace, Gyro Max, Pasha, Pita N' More, Taste of Jerusalem, all exist, throw Cedarland in if Lebanese is close enough to you. This place was dead last. Dead. Last. At 17$ for each falafel platter... it's not worth it. It would have been 20$ for a gyro plate and you can get SO many better gyros!!! read more

I had the most unpleasant experience at The Great Greek. They offered a $5 off coupon with no stated limit, so I placed multiple orders online, and everything went through just fine. However, when I arrived to pick up my food, the owner approached me in an extremely rude and condescending manner, demanding my first and last name as if I were being detained. She seemed more interested in interrogating me than providing any kind of hospitality. When I reached for my wallet, she snapped at me, asking, "What are you looking for?"--completely unnecessary and disrespectful. I stepped outside to get my wallet from my car and returned. Remember its already paid for, but she wanted to see my card/ID for I don't know why. Already lost appetite so I told her make it quick. She ignored my request and started making phone calls, showing zero interest in resolving the issue. At that point, I decided they could keep both the food and the money because I will never be coming back. If this is how they treat paying customers, I suggest you spend your money elsewhere. There are plenty of restaurants that value their customers and provide far better service. Avoid this place if you expect any kind of basic respect or professionalism. read more

Visited 7/26/2024...they were VERY busy so I had to wait longer than desired for my carry out dinner. But, the staff was great and very apologetic. I think they're still working thru some kinks. The food was very good and lots of it! I will def go again. I def recommend but perhaps visit during a non- Friday dinner timeframe for now.
