Our som recommended this place so we assumed it was worth checking out. We ordered takeout and were immediately impressed by how hot and fresh our meals were and how generous the portions. Honestly I got more than two meals out of the beef kabobs I ordered. The beef was char grilled, tender and juicy although it did have a bit of gristle. My husband had the chicken kabobs which were all breast meat and cooked to perfection. Each meal came with pita bread which was a bit dry, delicious fresh creamy hummus and the tastiest rice I believe I've ever had. There was also grilled red onion, tomatoes, pickles and red cabbage for scooping up with pita bread and hummus. The quality of ingredients is high and it is most definitely worth the money. Caveat: Small shop in a very small strip mall - Not enough parking for the several businesses - take care. Taste of Jerusalem is very small, and onsite dining does not qualify as a date night with your wife - and elect carryout. Ambience - a few pictures, but otherwise sterile; furniture is very second hand. Lots of great food and meals to chose from, and very generous portions. We really liked this place. We stopped in for lunch because was saw it on Yelp. I had the Mediterranean salad with chicken. Delicious roasted chicken with some great olives, red cabbage, onion, tomatoes, pickle, dolma, tzatziki and hummus. It was all great! My son had the Lamb platter. For my first time here, I got the chicken bowl and a side of pita and hummus. The chicken had fantastic flavor and was cooked to perfection. The garlic sauce was delicious and more preferable to me than the tzatziki sauce. The cucumber salad was a good addition. The rice that comes with the chicken bowl was flavorful and good. We ate there in one of a relatively small number of booths that are available; it seemed clean. It is not an especially good dining in facility if you are looking for something a little nice or fancy, and they accordingly seemed to have a big carry out business. I came to Taste of Jerusalem for their lunch, and upon entering the building, all of the seats were taken! After trying the food, I see why, lol I ordered the Mixed Grill Kabbab which come with one skewer of  chicken kabbab, one skewer of kufftah kabbab, one skewer of beef fillet, hummus, rice, pickle, and red cabbage, and a side of falafels. I thought since this was my first time here, the mixed grilled kebabs would give me a sample of the main ingredients on their menu. Everything tasted so good! The meat was seasoned and cooked well, the rice was delicious, and the hummus and pita bread tasted so well together. I started dipping my kabbabs into the hummus and couldn't stop until all of the kabbabs were gone. The name nails it, what you get in Jerusalem and Israel, Lebanon too, you get at Taste of Jerusalem. What a fantastic find to get the flavor and taste buds popping in a part of the world that I wish we had more restaurants representing. Taste of Jerusalem has Shawarma, chicken and lamb, schnitzel, great salads, and you can get things as a bowl, sandwich or even platters. And tzatziki plus the very best garlic sauce. We felt like we were on Edward Rd in London. Hummus was incredible and the pita superb. This is a great find and if you love this kind of food, you've got to try it. If your in the mood to try something new and unique to the Dayton area, this is the spot, affordable, clean and great service. And I know us in the states love our fries, and they are crinkle cut at Taste of Jerusalem, but remember fries aren't their thing, get the sides of Jerusalem and you'll be pleased for sure and not judging them for fries. My wife and I ordered both the Lamb and Chicken platters at $17 each, with a 10% military discount. We wanted to get as much variety as possible on our first visit.
