Grape Leaves, Chicken Shawarma Wrap, Baklava
    Alex F.

BAKLAVA!! I had this delivered through Uber Eats. I ordered the Grape Leaves, Chicken Shawarma Wrap, and Baklava. The Grape Leaves tasted as you would expect. The Chicken Shawarma Wrap had more filler than anything. It was like eating a lettuce onion wrap. In the couple complete bites there were, it was tasty. I would eat it again if there was more meat. The baklava was very ideal as it was flaky, sweet, soft and very flavorful. Overall, I would go back just to get baklava.

Worst food ever, don't recommend it. Rude customer service.

Worst food service ever, rude manager. They didn't want to help. Don't recommend coming here at all.

    DoorDash order

Delivery Order Review Only: I had always heard good things about this place so I finally ordered some things to try. I am quite disappointed as I close up the container and toss it into the fridge to go bad. I ordered from DoorDash, which is partly where I went wrong I guess. There is very little description for the menu items so I was unaware of some things which lead to huge disappointment. I ordered the Vegetarian Mix Platter, pita, side of Shish Tawook, and always extra tzatziki. The Baba ganouj was overly smoky for my taste but not bad when I added tzatziki. The hummus was oddly tart and tasted different than any other hummus I've ever had at Mediterranean restaurants. I did not care for it. The pita was fine, nothing special. Salad greens were fresh. The grape leaves were the best thing in the entire order, and probably the best I've ever had (I don't order them often though). Some things that the DoorDash menu did not note: I was unaware that the salad dressing was spicy, and I have a condition that does not allow for much spice so I was unable to eat the salad after I ruined it with the dressing. I should have tasted it first, so that's my bad! I also ordered a side of Shish Tawook and expected a small portion, but not as small as what I received. There was no portion size on the menu. But what I got was one slice of chicken that was about the size of a McDonald's chicken nugget (for $2!) - huge waste of money there. I was also unaware that the platter came with pita because it was not in the description, so I wasted more money adding that on. Overall the flavor was not there. I have no idea how authentic it is, so my opinion is not a well educated one. Lol. I'm just saying, I didn't care for most of my meal and felt a bit ripped off so I won't be ordering there again.

    Gyro

I love mediterranean food but this has to be the most overrated placed ive seen. Staff was very nice no issues there. Parking certainly is but thats not really there fault. Cost was great. Look at the photo of the gyro, honestly its the worst ive ever had. It had zero flavor, very bland, and the pita was very poor. It fell apart almost immediately. Price and the sweet tea which was great is the reason why its a 2.

    Chicken Schwarma. $13 + $1 for falafel

Olive Mediterranean Grill is a Mediterranean restaurant in downtown Dayton. I usually go there for dinner and takeout. It has a very quiet vibe - definitely not busy, but I am guessing they have a lot of lunch customers. I got the schwarma platter. This came with very large portions at $13. Basically it was two meals. Rice: fragrant with hint of spices (cloves), long grain, perfectly steamed texture and not soggy Schwarma chicken: the grill flavor tastes really great. It is not dry at all and has a lot of spices and salt. This was very satisfying Side salad: very fresh leaves, kalamata olive, though vinegar dressing is very sharp. Crispy falafel which was good. Normal otherwise. Comes with tzitzaki sauce and pita if you like that. Pita could have been softer but still good. I definitely would come back when I am in the mood for mediterranean.

This is a no-frills restaurant, maybe best for DoorDash or Uber Eats (no alcohol and bleak atmosphere), but the food is exceptional.

Ask the Community - Olive Mediterranean Grill

Do they offer gluten free options?

Yes! There are salads, but as far as I know there is not something specifically labeled "gluten free". With this being said, most dishes are gluten free if there is no bread, which is mostly just in the sandwiches.

This place seems closed? They have a board that says they are moving

They moved downtown to across from courthouse square.

La Embajada La…read moreEmbajada is an Argentine Steakhouse, mobile kitchen and catering venture in Dayton, Ohio, that specializes in Argentinean, Italian and Spanish cuisine - nearly fine dining. We arranged to arrive ten minutes early in order to converse with Mónica Fabregat. Well worth the planning and effort. Mónica was delighted to learn that we have visited Argentina and experienced the people, cuisine, beauty, and various wineries. I had to ask Monica if she had visited Bariloche. Bariloche is located in the foothills of the Patagonian Andes on the southern shore of Nahuel Huapi Lake, near the border with Chile. Aspen, Colorado, is the most frequent U.S. city comparison for Bariloche due to its shared identity as a premier, upscale mountain resort destination. Both cities are famous for high-end skiing, luxury lodges, and a sophisticated, "ritzy" atmosphere that attracts wealthy international travelers. Beyond Aspen, Bariloche is often compared to other U.S. mountain and outdoor-centric locations for different reasons. Monica explained that "Argentine cuisine is primarily the union of food from our two biggest immigrant populations, Spain and Italy," Throughout the menu, Spanish and Italian influences are easy to spot, from espresso, pastas and flatbreads to empanadas, Argentine sausages and chorizos. La Embajada is a small, nicely decorated, pleasant restaurant - Qualifies as a Date Night with your wife, and my wife greatly approves. Service is excellent. YELP is always a must consult for us, and folks have consistent posted 5 Star reviews. We always take care to download the menu prior to dining. The Dictator Steak caught my eye the previous night, and I asked Monica which steak she recommends. Her reply was the Dictator Steak - a 30 day aged Ribeye. Difficult to find a 30 day aged Ribeye in the Dayton market. Monica then offered a nice Cabernet Sauvignon; I immediately declined and Monica smiled - she then offered a Malbec. Sorry, I forget the label, but very often we order a Malbec rather than a Cabernet Sauvignon. The single flaw (not the restaurant's doing) was the appearance of 14 young parents and very young children without reservations.... Folks do some minimal research - No one suddenly appears at an upscale restaurant in a group this size without reservations. During our three week Overseas Adventure Travel visit, we experienced a winery every day, and we came to favor Malbec. Malbec is a dark, full-bodied red wine grape known for its deep color and rich, fruity flavors like plum and blackberry, with notes of vanilla, cocoa, and tobacco, especially when aged in oak. Originally from France, where it's a key Bordeaux blending grape, it has become the signature grape of Argentina, thriving in high-altitude vineyards and producing wines with soft tannins and balanced acidity, making it a classic pairing for grilled meats like steak. My wife specified the Mixed Grill and the Seafood Bowl; Paella-style rice with shrimp, mussels, calamari and octopus. Of course, our plan was to enjoy "leftovers" at home, and we did. I observed to Monica that often in Buenos Aires steak restaurants place a live fire BBQ with steak in the front window; she knew about this and replied this would violate fire code in US. She observed these were higher priced restaurants for tourist, and I agreed. I found in Buenos Aires, by walking a few blocks, a similar menu was available for 50% less. Caveat: Go to La Embajada as soon as possible and do visit Bariloche when in Argentina.
