    Cheesy potatoes
    Ingrid S.

I can't not give a cheese event 5 stars. It's like saying I don't believe in magic, puppies, rainbows, and Christmas. Event had many different aspects. I arrived a few minutes early which was a thank god situation because the line to get in grew exponentially. Coat check at the door - boom. Cheese at the door - boom. Beer guy - there was sadly only one and it was Finback IPA. But it hit the spot and somehow the two kegs lasted the entire event. Lines grew out of this world was the only complaint. Downstairs there was no cutting unless you wanted to get cut. But the annoying thing was that every one was in line for cheesy (out of this world cheese curd and heavy cream) potatoes, and not what I thought were the sliders but the cheese potato line melded into the slider line and yeah. . . . . . The upstairs area is the same lay out for all the events at the Flushing Town Hall. Baby grand piano on stage, booths set up various cheese farms from upstate, locally, vermont, etc. etc. Barefoot wine and two different cideries were on hand. It would have been nice if there was a larger variety of ciders and wine. Also, if these weren't comped through Yelp I might have been pissed spending so much money on an event that pushes you to buy a bottle and had just a dixie cup sample portion amount of cider or wine. Anywho, the focus was on the cheese. Loved the samples. Would have been cool to see more dishes cooked with the cheese products. The Yelp room was where it was at with mini deviled eggs and yakitori cheese curd skewers. I had a great time. Did two rounds of both floors because my plus one was running late and what else does one do when they are stuck in rooms filled with cheese and beer - consume more cheese and beer. Mmmmm. My two personal favorites of the evening were the cheese booths upstairs closest to the lounge room area. One of them had a chocolate chevre and the other had a large variety of stinky cheeses. Was a little disappointed that people just tossed in their votes to get it over with with the place closest to the exit and entrance. Uh. . . . . yeah. Lame, kids, do your homework. Missed out on trying the chocolate smores brie concoction downstairs and the cheese guys from Vermont were kind at the end of the night to wrap me up a cheese wheel on the house. Everyone was so friendly and passionate about their product. Love.

"A cheese may disappoint. It may be dull, it may be naive, it may be over-sophisticated. Yet it remains cheese, milk's leap toward immortality." - Clifton Fadiman. Last night's event was a revelation! Finding great cheeses will be my next gustatory quest. This was my first time sampling raw milk cheese (goat & cow) and I was totally blown away! There was so much depth of flavor in all that I sampled, I was transported to both farm and barn by the rich smells and the funky barnyard flavors. Visually stunning, was the aged Alderney, with it's basket weave ( thanks to the videographer who provided the lighting for my great Iphone shot). The offerings from Vulto were excellent, the Miranda, raw cow's milk was as they described , 3 S's - smooth silky and savory. Their Ouleout piquant and pungent. My favorites of the evening were the offerings from Consider Bardwell in Vermont, and I can't wait to enjoy my purchases. I fell in love with their Manchester, an aged, raw goat peasant tomme. Lisa E. fell for the Experience,a creamy stout washed pasteurized cows milk cheese. Left in the car for a few hours while we dined in Bayside made for quite an aromatic ride home! Other great offerings were the goat cheese smores ( goat cheese on artisan cracker with shaved dark chocolate), who knew that would work so well, someone's a genius! There was also something amazing Lisa E. brought me, I believe it was mashed potato crack, but is properly called Pommes Aligot. Sorry I didn't have the patience to watch it being prepared. Finback IPA was a nice paring with the funky cheeses. I begrudgingly subtracted one star, for combined reasons. The layout and amount of people made it uncomfortable to talk with the artisans about their process and products, as hordes of people were jostling and breathing down my neck trying to grab a bite. I also had dashed hopes when I learned that there was no raclette, after so many positive mentions last year. Also, I could not get any where near the ciders that were being poured in the far corner of the downstairs room. Laugh of the night...... the guy that kept his hand out asking for "more more more..... you know, for my friends" Side note - I hope everyone took in the architecture, the jazz photos and the great Louis Armstrong collages in the hallways!

Minimum weight to buy is 1/4 lb. Card is accepted on purchases over $15 Staff were very kind and patient in explaining the cheeses and letting us sample some before choosing. Walked out with the cheese I wanted and another one that interested me when sampling. Interior is a bit smaller, but stock full of items. Cheeses, cold meats, crackers and other shelf items available. Will definitely revisit, great array of specialty cheeses to choose from, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Good vibes all around

It's one of those cheese shops where you'll smell the cheese before you see it- that wafting smell is indeed incredible haha. There is a very generous selection of cheeses here & I'm sure anyone can find a cheese that they like (& if you don't like cheese, whyyyy)! The employee & I believe owner Abraham was amazing & super attentive & patient with my indecisiveness. I chose a variety of cheeses to take home with my favorite easily being the 3 year aged comté. All in all, albeit this cheese shop is a bit secluded it's worth the visit!

This spot is byob so we were able to bring our new favorite Pinot noir, which paired amazingly with the drunken goat Reserva cheese, the vegan cashew sharp pimento cheese, and the sheep's milk secret de compostelle cheese. Jacob at the cheese counter was more than helpful, answering all of our many questions and going out of his way to help us make our own spread. He let us sample everything we asked about and offered to cut up an apple and baguette for us to enjoy with our cheese selections. He really made the experience special for us with his effort and kindness! We grabbed a bag of candy grapes and crackers they had for sale and got to munching on the cheese. I have to say, it was one of the best cheese experiences we've ever had. There was a vinyl DJ setting the vibes and the dining area felt elegant and clean. If you are a looking for a fun shopping experience or to try some high quality cheeses, The Wheelhouse is the place to be!

Are you spending your Saturday afternoon in Flushing Meadows Park or Citi Field and found yourself…read morecraving for more of that Queens energy, but more importantly, craving for more of that diverse food scene? Well, then head on over to the Queens Night Market! Although there seems to be some kind of food festival popping up each weekend across the city, the vibe and diverse food scene here is still unmatched! The food selection has grown exponentially since I last visited over five years ago, making it easier for visitors to sample international bites all in one place. Moreover, the prices remained reasonable with most items under $8. On this visit, we tried the egg-shaped waffles stuffed with Nutella and custard, the Burmese pancakes stuffed with meat, the Venezuelan corn pancake stuffed with beef and mozzarella, and some Hainanese chicken with rice. Most of these items were delicious and the standout were the Burmese stuffed pancakes. The portions, although small, are still good enough for sharing. If you need more reasons to visit, they are also showing World Cup games here when we visited. You can have your watch party with great food options! The service is usually quite quick despite some long lines.

The portion and value at the time was definitely there. I have returned a few times over the years, most recently in 2026 coincidently for the World cup games as well! However, I feel like the food portion has decreased drastically. I do understand prices will need to go up with inflation, but the portions are much smaller from when it first started. For example, the Romanian chutney cake (dessert cone) and the amount of Filipino lumpia they provide for the price is much smaller now. For four years, the price was at $5 max. In 2019, the stalls raised their maximum price to $6, which remains the same today in 2026. From a recent 2026 Gothamist article though, 2026 will be the last year for the $6 cap so 2027 may potentially be increased to $7 cap or be eliminated. that is in the air right now. Despite the pricing/portion value, QNM is great way to try different cuisines all in one place. its a great way for growing families to chill in an open grassy area that has music and pop-ups at times (ie: HK VITA brand lemon tea had a pop up there). Parking is crowded so its best to walk from 7 train-111th st hall of science train stop or uber if you live close by. Overall, QNM is a nice event to go with friends to share items, but im personally losing the allure of it after going a few times over the years with diminishing returns.
