My husband and I took a late night drive, and afterwards wanted something to eat . I ordered the Patriot sandwich on a roll. It consisted of steak, bacon, mozerella, mustard,mayo and cheddar cheese. Classic deli I use to go to all the time. I use to get the beast or the Bushman hero and a couc but I don't think I can handle it anymore. I've heard a lot of good things about Cherry Valley so I was excited to try. I ordered pick-up and got the the bomb on a hero. The sandwich has a little spice to it and has a creamy sauce. I liked that it had French fries alongside with the breaded chicken. The hero was a bit much for me. I couldn't finish it in one sitting. My only issue is that the napkins were so thin, I had to use several since the sandwich can get messy. I used to come here all the time growing up. Unfortunately, it just didn't hit like it used to. The cheese on the Reuben was not melted and the hero was pretty soggy. Neither my partner nor I ate the second halves of our hero's (& we were super hungry). The waffle couch- all the gravy was at the bottom and the mozzarella on top wasn't melted. The ratio of gravy:mozzarella was not equal, definitely could've used more cheese (& melted!). Would not order the Reuben or DOT again ! read more

Got 2 sandwiches (chicken Supreme and something Italian which also had chicken) and a large salad. Got the sandwiches but got SUPER HARD MADUROS instead of a large salad. The maduros were harder than sour dough bread when left out too many days and the sauce didn't do anything to soften them. I reached out to doordash for a refund on the incorrect item but they denied it. I basically ate one and threw the rest out. The sandwiches were okay. The chicken Supreme was fresh as it had the BLT toppings but I wouldn't pay more than $14 for these sandwiches. It was lacking some salt with both of the sandwiches. I tried cherry valley in the past (3 years ago) but again this year. It might be one of my last. There are alot better sandwiches out there now but I do appreciate that they are open late. read more

I've been coming to Cherry Valley on and off since 1997. I speak the name in reverent tones. I had such great memories of the food and the times at this Deli. It really saddens me to say that those days are gone. Went there today with a coworker after repeatedly hyping this place up and it was NOT GOOD and not even close to what it use to be. I ordered my usual over 25 plus years which is The Beast hero and nothing was the same as it used to be. Bread was stale, chicken cutlets were no longer homemade but spongey mass produced product, and sandwhich itself was at least 25 percent smaller than it was back in the day. I understand changing times but the fall off is crazy, especially when you are charging me $17 plus for a hero. I cannot properly express my dissappointment here... read more

Pastrami hero: $13.25 best tasting. Great flavor. 2. Patriotic hero: $14. Grilled steak, bacon, mozzarella cheese .... Did not disappoint! 3. Boneless rib hero: $11 it was ok. The 'rib' is like the 'rib' in McRib at McDonald's. Don't expect real rib rib. 4. Bullet hero: $13.5. Chicken cutlet was disappointing dry. Least favorite. Kitchen opens 24 hours. Only 11-4 pm get free soda or bottle water with sandwich purchase. Extra fee for credit card. So bring cash. Overall customer service was good. No waiting time standing on line. Their Colombian empanadas are AMAZING and something I'd come and get all the time. The wraps on the other hand are okay at best (the deli across the street has better ones) and the tostones were nice and salty but got pretty hard quickly. Cherry Valley Deli & Grill has been around for a couple of decades, and since it's open 24 hours, the spot is popular with the late night crowd. They are known for their many sandwiches that are hearty and satisfying. And messy! There's also a strong nostalgia factor since quite a few customers have been going since high school though I've heard it's not quite the same as an adult/nowadays. I ordered the bomb hero ($14) which was made up of grilled steak, bacon, cheddar, onion rings, and brown gravy. Everything was placed between toasted garlic hero bread which met with my approval. It was pretty tasty but quite rich and on the salty side. Certainly something I couldn't eat all the time but it has a time and place. And be prepared to consume nearby (no seating available) since most of the sandwiches are best warm. As a lover of iced tea, I read on their website that Cherry Valley has award-winning iced tea. I have been coming here for years and each time i come i spend $70+ dollars but i've never looked at the receipt and prices till now. There is an up charge on each item! Cherry Valley is that sandwich shop you hit up after a night of partying. They literally will put almost anything in between bread. And not only are most of their sandwiches loaded, they are actually good. Upon my last visit, I ordered the All American. This is a classic club hero with turkey, ham, roast beef, cheese and mayo. I added bacon and Cherry Valley sauce for an extra cost. You are bound to quickly get a sandwich in no time after your order. And the staff is prepped for the traffic. They have it down to a science. The sandwich also comes with a small Poland Spring water or a can of soda. One sandwich is enough for two meals for me. My only issue is the bread. My coworker recommended the corona and bullet sandwich. I opted for the corona hero. The initial bite of the sandwich was dry. However it gets better as you eat it. The chicken is actually pretty juicy around the center. It is also a good thickness and size for a sandwich. I would like if the bacon was more evenly distributed as the bacon was just all stuck in one side. The bbq sauce is pretty good. The only downside of this sandwich is the bread. The bread wasn't that good. It was stale and soggy at the same time. I have tried this sandwich with onion rings and waffle fries. There is not much different tastewise as the bbq sauce overpowers the flavor of the onion ring and waffle fries. I also order a side of waffle fries. They smelled really good. This place is an EXPERIENCE. You don't come her because you wanna sit down and enjoy the atmosphere. This is queens. We have stuff to do! I wanna walk in at 2pm or 2am, tell the person at the counter what I want, grab a soda, blink 3 times, and then have a hot freshly made hero thrown at me on the counter! I have been coming here since I was a high school teenager and they never disappoint ! You walk in and are surrounded by menus on the wall. So many different sandwiches! This will be my last time going to cherry valley, I have considered this place a staple for this part of queens since I been going for 25 years and seeing the tons of people in out of it on late nights since I was a kid. I haven't gone in a while but tonight really put the nail in the coffin for me. The employees are still very chill but the sandwiches have gone down in size and weight compared to back in the day and the prices are insane for the size. I walked out of here for my last time paying 18 for a hero I used to get for 10-12 and smaller than it ever was. I understand times have changed but I go to much better places around the city and get proper Italian hero style sandwiches for equal or even less money with much better weight to them and ingredients. I gave 3 stars for it being a staple in the area it's employees being chill and open 24hrs but unless you're in a pinch it ain't worth it anymore tbh. read more
