After my Gruene Coffee Haus visit, I started walking back to my car. On my way, I saw the Great Texas Pecan Candy store sign. If I didn't see the sign, I would have missed out on some delicious and out of this world pecan brittle. Let me tell you, it is quite a hidden little gem! It's very charming as well. A very nice and pleasant older gentleman runs this store. He was very kind to give out free samples on different pecan brittle variations. I tried a few of them and only two kinds satisfied my taste buds. OMG... their pecan brittle and pecan roca are the B*MBiest (not sure if this is even a word, but I'm still going to use it... it flows LOL) that I have ever eaten! I ended up buying 4 of each so a total of 8 bags. I wanted to give them as gifts for my dear friend's surprise birthday celebration. When I was paying for the brittle, the gentleman gave me a chewy praline (soft version) for free. Thank you sir! I wish I had tried this chew while I was still in the store because I would have bought a dozen or more... it was that good! If you are a pecan and/or brittle connoisseur, this is the spot for you! You can order the goods online and they will ship to you for a nominal fee. I know I will be ordering from them soon. If you're in the Gruene Historic District, this is not a shop to be missed. Put it on your list to visit! Happy Pecan'ing and Brittl'ing! P.S. I am in love with their pecan brittle! The way to my heart is through my stomach LOL. Hey, if the saying can go for a man, it can also go for a woman.

Gave tons of big free samples and was super nice. This flavor is amaaaazing and what they're famous for apparently. The man inside was super nice. They also have more candy worth checking out like toffee. 3 flavors including neopolitan and root beer. Also a giant Reeses lol.

We came into this pecan place to look around and the gentleman that owned the place offered us free samples of whatever we wanted to try. You know why people give out free samples, right? If you have great stuff, the product will sell itself...it sure did that! We left with a small bag of pecan roca...can you say english toffee meets texas pecans? That didn't make it to our house, then we got some chocolate and pecans, we haven't sampled/demolished this yet. Great little candy store, they have one in Gruene and one in Katy.

Every thing is good! The gentleman offers free samples and explains exactly what it is. It is kinda pricey. Most items are $26 a pound.

I called to ask about shipping time. For the standard shipping cost, it appeared I would receive the item in time, but FF offered to call me back after placing the order to discuss a faster option (not an expedited service). Well, they did, they had an option for another carrier, and even offered to absorb the cost difference. I got the item a day earlier than estimated with the original carrier. The item is also quite fragile, but it was packed very well and arrived undamaged. I couldn't be happier with the service I received and will definitely be looking here first for my freaky items!

The endless amounts of gag gifts and costumes can keep me here for hours. The staff is very friendly and has always treated me and my kiddo like family. One of the owners shared a story with my boy, who shares his fascination with all things chicken. That was what originally caught my boys attention since they had shirts with chickens on them. They have all sorts of unique shirts here and it's become a routine to stop by and check out what cool new gear they've received. Recently, we checked out their masks, and I've never seen such a selection of clown and dark creature disguises. I have to say this is definitely a hidden gem that has to be explored whenever out this way and no matter what time of the year for us. I always leave with something unique and unforgettable.

Now I'd say it's once a month or every other depending on when our pickle supply runs low. My boyfriend's family is in the area and this is always part of our shopping in downtown NB. Honestly, I can't believe I've never reviewed it before. I'm almost positive I have. But, I digress. I have two sisters who visit and one more than the other. She loves Fickle Pickles more than I do. Most especially the brine (the PERFECT chicken marinade). Had to do some replenishing today (5/9/26) and that's gonna make my sister full of FOMO. I'm pretty sure the amazing woman working today remembers the antics between me and my sister during our visits. Lol. She was gracious enough to snap a pic of me with a jar of brine...you know, to make my sister really jealous. Haha. Fear not, her birthday is in July and I'll be having FP ship her a goody box. The pickles are absolutely hands down the best I've ever had. Sweet and crunchy. My boyfriend lives and breathes for that spice! I love that they come in three sizes. This extremely popular small business has a few locations and the flavor and taste never waiver. This shop also carries household items like cutting boards, towels, decorative items (new and vintage), chachkies, etc. Can't beat free samples either. Perfect Pickle Popping goodness!! Until next month, Fickle Pickles.

Love the…read morename...Fickle Pickles as the name implies is focused on pickles and not a ton of varieties (original and spicey). According to the store manager, the pickles are produced in Boerne, TX and delivered to New Braunfels, TX. Thus, pickles are their primary thang! Yesterday, I was happy to learn that this shop specialized in their signature sweet, crunchy, spicy pickles. This family-owned business apparently has a Texas pickles recipe that dates back decades. The shop itself is charming and filled with items with the cutest sayings. I openly laughed out loud when I read several of the inscriptions. Shelves are lined with pickle jars in different sizes. The store manager was the quintessential warm, knowledgeable, and Texas friendly person with a genteel manner. She offered samples, which put me in the yes category to buy pickles. The pickles for the small jar were $7.95 and $13.95 for the larger jar...more than you would pay at a grocery store for pickles. I purchased to small jar. Let's talk about them their pickles...the pickles strike a unique balance...starting slightly sweet, followed by a vinegary taste, and finishing with a gentle heat. According to the manager, that's why they are called fickle pickles because they do not know exactly what they want to be. You can choose between the original and a spicier version. It was a memorable stop in this cute little country town.
