At 3P, hangry came over me. With dinner 3ish hours away, I knew I wasn't going to make it and needed something "healthy" and "light" Everything on this menu is perfect. It's hard to mess up Mexican street snacks and this place has mastered it. It really says something when you walk into a space and see everybody signing. In love with this place!! We are from out of town and had to look for some Mexican Snacks in New Braunfels. Where were from there are a lot of corn places and they are really good, but La Reina's corn was amazing! Very close to Monterrey, Mexico's La purisima corn. My daughter had a Limon Trole and it was also really good. Tried Agua de limon and piña and they were so refreshing and delicious. No wonder this place was packed! The person that helped us was new but did a really great job in regards to customer service and attentiveness. The owner and everyone else seemed really nice. Been here about 4 times now within the last couple months, and for some reason, we always get served by Miguel! He always greets us when we come in and has a friendly demeanor! The place itself is only serving to go items but the full menu is available for take out. My wife and I always order the mangonadas, a lil chili, a lil lime, and homemade mango sorbet... can't be beat! I've also tried their paletas (homemade Popsicles) which was so fresh; can tell they werw homemade, their takis and cheese which is a bit on the spicy side but good. Ive also tried their aqua frecas (strawberry milk/horchata) to wash it down, and that's like crack in a cup (delicious)! Overall, I'm glad there is a palateria in this neighborhood! We appreciate the culture and diversity that this place brings, and if you are lucky to have Miguel serve you, just know he delivers great customer service every time! I'm from the LBC, and this definitely brings back memories of my childhood of going to the paleteria during the hot summer days. I'm really happy to know there is one in NB! I'm a huge fan, and so addicted to the managonada. Their ice cream and paletas are delicious. Shoutout to Miguel for being a great server and putting in those longs hours. I've been here twice so far and have enjoyed it! Another awesome thing about this place is that they also serve snacks. So come thru if you are craving elotes or Takis with cheese. I know that a lot of reviews say that this place is "pricey", but I think that the quality of what they're serving is worth it. And i like to support local/small businesses. This place is alright. I almost dislike reviewing Mexican restaurants because I always feel I'm a lot harsher than other places. However, my girlfriend loves this place, and rightfully so. Being far away from our border town, this place is like a little reminder of home. Great tasting products in a nice clean environment. I got a small mangonada especial and some candy. Candy alone was 2.75, I know for that amount you can buy an entire bag. The small mangonada especial is good, the mango was in season. The actual ice cream could use a little more flavor. But it was good. Can't complain in taste! Where it kills me is in the prices. For this area, they are decent prices. I say decent because I still think that $5+ for flaming hot cheetos with cheese is a little excessive. Im used to border town prices... but I get it. Aside from that, everything we tried tasted good. I have been looking for a Mexican snack place for the last 4 years in New Braunfels and I finally found it! Coming from a border town, I was used to seeing one at every street corner. I must say they have quite a selection including funnel cakes! I had the marranada, a corn in a cup and a fruit sorbet with lechera (sweet condensed milk). We looove it! The only Mexican style ice cream shop or "frutería" in New Braunfels that we are aware of. Plenty of choices in flavors. My favorite is a half mango and half tamarind with lime, chili and chamoy. My husband had the Chamoyada which had fruit, shaved ice, chamoy, lime and chili and he was very happy with it. You can always point. They do have lists of flavors and a board with different offerings. Oh and they have aguafrescas too! Kind of a hole-in-the-wall and easy to miss, BUT amazingly tasty. Recommend the mangonada and the mango smoothie. Otherwise the fruit cups are full of fresh fruit. The people working there are friendly and seems like a mom and pop shop which is always nice to support. Definitely recommend the visit.
