Our 1st meal when we arrived to Arizona and was not satisfied. We stayed at the Home2Suites Hilton so I loved the convenience of this restaurant being walking distance from the hotel. When we arrived, we weren't greeted immediately and we stood there waiting to be seated but come to find out, you seat yourself Ask for the complimentary chips and salsa to start--love the 3 different salsas they provide with the chips. We ordered the Al pastor tacos and 2 carne asada burritos but I think they gave us al pastor burritos instead The tacos were definitely better than the burritos. The water they self-serve and very warm--melted the ice away immediately once poured and was still warm. Service was slow, food came out slow, and the food was mediocre.

Great bingo and good drinks! Central location. Good outside bar service! Had a blast with friends.

2 asada tacos and 2 pastor, freshly made tortillas!

Service! Quickness! Deliciousness! I work right across the street and I love this for myself haha because I can walk here whenever I am craving tacos and enjoy some of the most delicious tacos in town. It's such an underrated spot that people need to try. Idk if people even know this is one of the best taco spots! Also, it's nice because since it's not such a popular spot you won't wait too long.

Burnt chips, clear dark brown spots on multiple chips, yet still served. They tasted like cardboard.

This hurts to write, because this was a neighborhood gem for me. I came in today, a place I have loved since inception. When it first opened, you would see one of the co-owners around often. He was a very nice guy and the staff was always exceptional. My favorite, was the woman who ran the food area. She was kind, compassionate, and felt like extended family every time I saw her. Today, I stopped in, expecting to see her. Instead I see two young people behind the bar, one manning the register and the other cooking. I rarely ever saw anyone beside her cooking.. so this was odd. Turns out, she is no longer employed with Green Woodpecker and boy is it painfully obvious. I ordered chips and a bean and cheese, something I have definitely ordered here many times before.. the chips, burnt so badly you can see burnt spots all over them. The burrito, full of liquid soup for beans. You could literally turn it upside down and the entire contents would pour out. I confronted the server about the quality of the food. The entire time I was talking, she was trying not to laugh. I said, "I see you smiling as I'm telling you this, it's clear you don't care." Her response, ya I mean our fryer is overheating so there is nothing I can do about it. As if it was a funny joke that people are wasting money on food they are unable to cook properly. First and foremost, she does not belong in a customer facing role that involves customer service. Second, I will no longer be returning to or referring anyone to this establishment. What an awesome place that has now been ruined.

Had a great afternoon of beers and delicious tacos. Super friendly staff and such a fun chill place. I will definitely be back.

Wednesday bingo was a blast. Great ambiance and food, worth the stop!

I was at an event at Park Central and got the munchies and stumbled upon this place. The Green Woodpecker is a craft beer and taco bar concept that was founded by the people behind Gadzooks Enchiladas & Soup and Wren House Brewing Co. These are establishments that I frequent often and enjoy. So my expectations were somewhat high coming here and I wasn't disappointed. This place is pretty chill and I enjoyed my Friday night here. The menu here is quite simple - street tacos, burritos and chips & salsa (they also have vegetarian options for protein). Green Woodpecker has a number of craft beers on tap or you can grab a bottle of wine or canned beer to-go. Sometimes simple and delicious is all that you need for a relaxing evening out. Seating is both indoor and outdoor (with TV screens) and the customer service is fantastic. This location was once a flower and gift shop and Green Woodpecker pays homage to the past by selling floral bouquets.

Honestly took me a while to find, it's the last shop at the end before the side parking lot, past Thai Basil. The ambiance is nice, good song selection (not live) the service was quick, but there wasn't a lot of people there at 6pm on a Tuesday. I got 2 carne asada for like $8 and the chips and salsa were free (big plus) overall a great place to grab a bite by yourself or with friends.

I remember touring the administrative offices, the dining hall, the classrooms, the residence halls, and other random buildings, but the most memorable stop was The Pub, which was rooted in much Thunderbird tradition. Now, years later with a new building in place at ASU, I was delighted to learn that The Pub still exists but in a new space (on the fifth floor). I recently stopped by to see what it looked like and try one of their dishes. In the spirit of Thunderbird, at The Pub, it is said that "global flavors and local charm come together to create an unforgettable dining experience." This is a great place for a meal with co-workers, hosting a gathering for a special celebration, or having a low-key meal. I took a book and gave it a try on my own. The sides include chicken wings, chicken tenders, hummus snack plate, or various ways to prepare fries. They have soup, salad, flatbread, entree bowls, and many burgers and sandwiches. They also have all sorts of drink options (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). It was national root beer float day (or something of the sort), so every burger came with a free root beer float. I jumped at that and got the Thunderbird Pub Burger (seasoned 6oz all beef patty, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, American Cheese, signature pub sauce Brioche Bun, served with Crispy French Fries). It was delicious!! In fact, it was better than delicious when paired with a free root beer float! They have regular hours of noon to 5 PM on weekdays (though they are open until 9 PM on Thursdays. They do have seasonal hours when they close early or entirely when classes are not in session. Happy hour specials are from 3-5 PM daily. While there are many great places to eat at ASU, I certainly recommend The Pub at Thunderbird.

My favorite was the Golden and Cada Rana. The other options were good but those I wanted more! I don't usually like IPAs or sweet beers and these had a perfect refreshing flavor, not too dark not too light. I also tried the mango Rana. It's okay but I felt it could have a more (fresh) mango taste. Area feels clean, bathrooms are clean. Inside and outside areas. They have a wonderful playlist of music. One of the highlights was chatting with Dan, who has been bartending for eight years. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to answer questions about the brewing process and the brewery itself. It's clear he enjoys what he does and takes pride in sharing information with customers. I also learned that the brewery was founded by Megan Greenwood, and it's impressive to see how her vision has grown into a well-known local brewery. The brewing operation includes seven tanks, giving visitors a glimpse into the production side of the business. For anyone interested in seeing more behind the scenes, Greenwood Brewing does offer brewery tours. There isn't a set tour schedule, so it's best to ask staff about availability when you visit. One feature I thought was especially cool was the live Instagram follower counter displayed behind the bar. Watching the number update in real time was a fun and unique touch that added to the brewery's modern, community-focused atmosphere. The atmosphere was welcoming, the staff was engaging, and it was fun getting a closer look at the brewing process while enjoying quality craft beer. A great stop for both locals and visitors looking to support a Phoenix- Women owned brewery. The vibes are chill & semi-loud with music playing in the background. They have seating on both sides of the brewery, outside seating & local restaurants QR codes to order food from. IG: greenwood Brewing

We passed AZ Wilderness and saw how busy they were so we stopped at Greenwood as they were less busy and we had never tried their beer before. My parents prefer IPA's and are tough critics, however, they liked the IPA's so much they bought a pack to take home. I'm not a huge beer drinker so I ordered the seltzer on tap and it was good + refreshing. My husband also ordered the Mango Lassi and loved it.
