Thoroughly enjoyed a Saturday morning brunch at the Match Market & Bar located inside the Found:Re hotel. I ordered the ham eggs Benedict while my company ordered the Eggs Any Style which included bacon, breakfast potatoes, and sourdough toast. We both enjoyed a Bloody Mary. The Benedict was lovely in presentation and taste but the portion was not enough to be filling. I would recommend adding a side of breakfast potatoes to round out the dish. My counterpart throughly enjoyed his meal with the note that the side breakfast potatoes were perhaps a little too crunchy. Overall, this place is a vibe and definitely a cool spot to bring someone visiting from out of town. The pizza was 10/10 but unfortunately the service lacked. We sat at a table during the week, and it was not busy. You order at the counter, and they do ask for a tip, but after the lack of service we received, I'd say it's best not to leave a tip in advanced since you don't know what service you will get. My personal opinion, bring cash if you want to tip. We received our food, and truly did not get checked on once. I had to get up to ask for a drink refill. We ordered a glass of Pinot, seasonal martini (chartreuse and rum based), a goat cheese dirty martini and a mystery beer. The drinks were lovely and we especially loved how briny the goat cheese martini was. We were there during happy hour and they had a decent selection of food on the menu. We ended up ordering the smoked jerk chicken wings (dry rub) and bravas fried. The chicken wings were flavorful and juicy with a nice flavorful crust but the bravas fries were my favorite and comprised of a platter of fries with a fairly traditional bravas sauce (smoky tomato sauce) and little cubes of Spanish chorizo. This was a nice find, located in the downtown area. There is a little mini market at the entrance with cute stocked items. The place is spacious and it's good for groups and singles alike. There is a bar area and open seating throughout. You place your order at the counter, grab a number, and they bring your meal to your seat. The food and drink (matcha tea) exceeded my expectations. I love how the inside has a cute little shop inside but my favorite is the bar seating. There's TVs and plenty of windows to peep outside. It's tucked away in a chill part of the neighborhood. They open up the windows when it's not hot outside. I've been here a couple times for happy hour. I usually get their sangria although it's not a sangria you'd get in Spain. Still decent though and a good price. You should add this place to your list because on 602 (6/02) day they had some awesome deals! We had tacos for a fraction of the cost and it was delicious. I love places that are right along the light rail as they are convenient and great for people watching. This place also has the benefit of being located on a corner and also is adjoined to a hotel and art gallery that is fun to look at before or after you dine. Some outdoor seating is available too which is always nice. Was disappointed to have to go to a counter to order and then get beverages in bottles. The only service was when the meal came out, and that was 45 mins after I placed it. No chips to help pass the wait time either. My one carne asada and one sea bass street taco came out and the the shells were supermarket quality and pasty and not heated. Both tasted okay, but were not exceptional and in no way were worth the price. The lunch counter ordering area should be visually separated from the bar/dining area and could be independently successful with lower pricing. read more

We ordered drinks and they took quite a while to be served. When we mentioned restaurant week to the waiter he told us they were out of the duck breast which was one of our choices, I asked how they could be out with it being only 5:30 he told us it was the last night of restaurant week and they ran out BUT that the filet and salmon were stellar entrees. We both ordered the filet m-r. When the entree came out it was not a filet but a very small thin NY strip. I called the waiter over and said this was not a filet and he apologized and told us it was a NY and they were out of the filet????. I only took one bite and my son had 4 bites of his and there was no real addressing the issue even after I said we did not receive what we ordered and that he( the waiter) had told us the filet tonight was stellar....No manager seemed to be on duty and the waiter simply told us taking 20% off the bill was the best he could do. I came here with friends for brunch. As I sat down the bartender came with menus. One was a brunch and one was a lunch menu. My friends came and it took a little while for her to come back for our drink order. When I ordered from the lunch menu I was told that menu was not available. Servers and bartenders should look more closely when handing out menus. When we were ready to pay we had to ask for separate checks. The lighting is dim. It feels like a cafe or coffee shop, which fits with the fact that it has a small shop (not really a "market"). There is table service and our staff were attentive and kind. Cocktails: A Had a red sangria and a sweet potato old fashioned. The old fashioned was interesting -- didn't really taste like sweet potato but had a subtle sweet and earthiness. Very autumnal Meal: B Best thing we had was the Caesar salad. Their Caesar dressing is good! I think it's made with Dijon which is a bit of a riff. We also ordered patatas bravas. They were good, but I wouldn't call them patatas bravas. They were more like breakfast potatoes. And very sweet for some reason. Now, let's talk about the vegetable pizza. It has NO sauce (maybe a light drizzle of olive oil) and NO cheese. I thought maybe we ordered the vegan option, but it has a drizzle of honey around the edge. While it was good, it was confusing and bland. Making a good vegetarian pizza option shouldn't be hard. Even if they wanted a non-traditional sauce, make it with a pesto, or a white sauce, or a garlic oil. No cheese still throws me off. read more

Regrettably, despite the relatively low patronage, we observed an unusual sense of disarray behind the bar, as three bartenders appeared to be struggling needlessly. This translated into a long wait for drinks, with subsequent requests met with apparent annoyance. Our dining experience was marred by the arrival of cold chicken on two separate dishes. The audio quality from the TVs was terrible, we had to re-watch the show at home. In light of these subpar elements, we regretfully conclude that our initial visit was unsatisfactory. My wife and I had our Anniversary dinner here this past Saturday during Easter weekend. We saw it as we checked into our hotel room at Found Re Hotel. We asked the young lady checking us in about the restaurant and she said it was really good. Well it really did look good. So Saturday evening we made our way downstairs in excitement at celebrating our anniversary with some great food and atmosphere. As we walked in, the restaurant had just opened. We were met by a really nice young lady that promptly showed us to a really nice table that faced the street with windows that opened up for fresh air. We some enjoyed people watching in the downtown Phoenix area in between conversations with our server. Being that they just opened they were only serving certain items from the menu and at 5 pm they would begin serving all items. So we were in no hurry at all and ordered some drinks and waited and chatted till 5 pm. This place is pretty cool. You can sit at the bar or at a table. Or if you're on the go. You can get something to go from the adjacent market. Which many people did just that. As 5 pm approached our server came to the table and we were ready to order. I already knew what I wanted anyway. But the wife didn't. So she ordered the Shawarma chicken with some sort of sauce that she just loved. I mean it looked amazing and definitely tasted amazing. I ordered the Al Pastor Pork Tenderloin. I tell you what. I don't think I breathed while it ate. Bcz this was so dang good I gobbled it up. It really was that good. The pork was tender and the pico type topping was the perfect addition to the meal. Paired with a Scottdale Blonde beer it was an excellent diner. We did have room for dessert also! Wifey got the strawberry shortcake which was delicious and I had an absolutely amazing carrot cake with almonds. I have to be honest I had my double about this place. Bcz it's a little small and the menu isn't really too big. But what they offer is amazing and delicious. Also the service was excellent! You order your food at the counter and can choose to sit inside or outside on their patio. We chose to sit inside near the big open windows for a nice breeze and some little birds popped in to say hi, too. If you don't like birds, don't sit near the open windows! They have a full bar and a mini shop all in the restaurant space, and there were lots of cute artsy things for sale. The restaurant had so many vegetarian options! The food was light and refreshing yet filling, and I had leftovers to take home. I really liked the mykonos bowl and the burrata! This is a great lunch or happy hour spot! read more

The place is in a hotel, so the hotel pool is out one door and the hotel out the other. The bartender was super friendly, we ordered drinks and our lunch. I had the Caesar salad with chicken and hubs had the burrito bowl with chicken. The food was just 'ok' - nothing outstanding. Tons of rice in husbands burrito bowl, would have been better with a bit more substance. I'll bet the ambiance here at night is very cool and the hotel looks to be a nice one. So glad I decided to take a second look at this spot during my meandering on Central Ave during First Friday. The blazing gas heaters at the patio and the adjoining bar caught my eye. It is part of the Found:re midsize boutique hotel with an art gallery in the lobby, which flows into the bar. Towards the rear is a "grocery store" and a counter to order food. I placed my food and drink order and they gave me a number. They bring your order to the variety of seating options available. If you only want drinks they can keep a tab at the bar. At first I glance I thought they burned my salmon, but I realized my cajun salmon was blackened style. One of the better iterations with a crispy exterior and perfect spice blend. Served with a light cream pasta, which was a perfect pairing. The dirty martini helped wash away the long day of driving. Calm and casual place that's easy to find and fun to eat/drink at. Had lunch today (Double Trouble Smash Burger...OMG) and browsed the gift area after wards. My friend was visiting Phoenix from Seattle and told me that the hotel (Found:RE) Match is attached to has a nifty little vintage cigarette vending machine in the lobby (along with walls filled with local art) that's be repurposed into are ART-o-Mat. For 5 bucks you can get a surprise, hand made piece of art as a lovely souvenir! Food is great, staff is helpful and friendly, and the drinks will get me back there for sure. read more
