Our Bulldogs didn't want to leave and neither did we. Don't miss this one if you have the option... Georgia is a person of magic and nothing but a giver. We may have found the most amazing VRBO but the true gift of the trip was meeting and being hosted by such a special human. She's also incredibly logical, level headed and generous as hell as a host. The Enchanted Manor was the first place we looked at and we both felt that it was the right fit. Georgia has created a little oasis in her back yard that we felt fit our vibe - lowkey, but classy. We had booked originally for approximately 60 guests, however once all the pieces fell into place we were closer to 50. Unfortunately our guest count dropped below 50 just after our window to let Georgia know, but she was kind enough to offer us the price difference. We applied that balance towards renting some heaters and lighting the fire pits as the weather got colder than anticipated, as well as to handling the trash. (Pay attention to the contract, you are responsible for removing trash or there is a fee.) One thing I didn't realize before booking was that there is space for a kitchen, but it needs to be built out for your event, so make sure you consider that into any costs. Georgia was really helpful and responsive to all of our questions (we had so many) and anything that we couldn't do she had very reasonable reasons. (For example, at one point I thought I'd like confetti, but she explained why she doesn't allow that on her property which made total sense!) The weeks before I became worried that there wasn't enough decor, so we bought some items that we ended up returning. Once the rentals arrived, combined with the lighting, everything was beautiful as it was. Though there is excellent lighting, I would recommend watching your step as we did have a few tripping incidents (that were not alcohol fueled in some cases) as the ground changed. It was more due to the way things were spaced and we'd have to make sure to look down as we stepped around things, but we managed to survive. We've started to see some photos and everything looked beautiful; it was a romantic but relaxed vibe which was just what we wanted. I worried it wouldn't feel like a wedding, but it did. Georgia was a gracious host, our guests enjoyed her home (we made sure to tell them that they could rent it as well for an overnight getaway) and we can't wait to start reading her book. She gave us the sweetest compliment after, saying how kind our guests were and how that spoke to who my husband and I were as well. We stayed in touch after the wedding and I hope we meet again in the future for events or just a dinner to hear of her adventures! PS - her cats were big hits all around, too!

Kulak's Woodshed is a live music event venue, video recording and private music recording space. It's limited capacity, intimate and thoughtful. Brought to life by Paul Kulak, a local indie thoughtful big in stature and heart man whose love of music, sound and visuals brought this space in to existence at the tail end of the 1990s. A space for musicians to thrive, from grammy winners to new to expressing their gifts. I've passed the Woodshed many times in my 15 years in the SFV, but only recently started to enjoy it including their live webcasts and concerts via Facebook Live. Offering greatness on Laurel Canyon between Magnolia Blvd/Weddington Street, mere steps aways from my favorite local art supply store Carter Sexton. It's in a of creativity, expression and artistic joy. Check out their Mondays, musicians can sign up by 7pm for Singer/Songwriter Open Mic. Mostly supported by Paul's hard work, incredible volunteers and audience donations. It's an all welcoming, all ages, all genres and styles of music space. Beverages, snacks and conversations are all self served. Pet friendly environment, but good to be mindful others especially with allergies. Street parking is your friend, though if you don't mind a stroll parking a little further can be easier especially at night, rideshare or even metro as it's less than half a mile from the nearest station. It takes place mostly in their rear patio area and parking lot, but a good number of vendors were also in an adjacent air conditioned event room. They have a very small parking lot, but it was occupied by vendors during this event. Do not park in the parking lots of the adjacent businesses, as we were warned when entering the Tonga Hut that cars get towed regularly. There's plenty of street parking in the nearby neighborhood. Entering from the rear, there is a good sized covered patio with around eight benches. We went inside to check it out and grab a drink. The interior is fairly small with four good sized booths, a lounge area with a large J-shaped couch with several small tables, and around ten seats at the bar. It is dimly lit with some basic tiki décor, and has an old-school feel. They had a fixed cocktail menu for this event which is understandable. We stood in line at the bar for about ten minutes, got our drinks and went out to the patio. The bartender was friendly, and didn't seem flustered by the high volume of patrons. I had the Horned Beast O' The Celtic Sea (Oceanus Hibernicus Irish Malt, Jamacian Rum, House Made Falernum & Orgeat, Peach, Citrus, Dash of Cherry Heering, $13). She had the Leprechaun Grog (Three Rums, Lime, Grapefruit, Honey, Spice, Soda, $14). Both drinks were good, were served in souvenir plastic cups, and were a bargain at $13 to $14. If you ordered a drink containing Oceanus whiskey, the bartender gave you a gold coin and you could exchange it with the Oceanus representative on the patio for a free T-shirt. Durango Tacos was setup near the rear entrance for food. We had four tacos (two carne asada and two veggie), and they were good and reasonably priced. This was the first tiki marketplace we have attended. There were around twenty vendors with a good assortment of art work, tiki mugs, tiki clothing, tiki décor, and other miscellaneous items. I purchased a few nice tiki shirts which were a steal at $20 and $25. The vendors and visitors were all very friendly and in a festive mood. We hung out for about ninety minutes and had a good time. We will return at some point to try their regular cocktail menu and see what it's like on a non-event night.

Each bartender also has their own "secret menu" specials that only they can make. The decor is very on theme, and they have a fire pit and heaters outside for when it is chilly.

Upon entering I was very impressed with the ample cocktail style seating and large stage the venue offered. It actually had a supper club feel, once the host and the live band took to the stage. I signed up for the open mic, and and had a wonderful experience reciting my poem. I have been a repeat guest ever since. The artist that performed were very talented. The show was interactive and entertaining, as the host has the audience participate in games and activities throughout the night. My favorite is where the DJ and the band battle each other. In this game, the audience picks a song and the DJ has to play the song on the turn tables, and then the band has to play the same song with their instruments or vice versa. The audience then votes for either the DJ or the band. Can I just say "AMAAAZING!!!" The open wine and vodka bar was a great BONUS. There is a suggested tip of $4.00 for premium liquor, such as tequila. Where else can you get a Margarita for under $5.00? My suggestion is to bring cash or drink wine or vodka, if you don't want to give the bartender a decent tip for a free drink. I definitely recommend The Red Light Lounge to anyone looking for a GREAT evening . I'll be celebrating my birthday there in November with friends and family. Don't take my word for it...come out and see for yourself. Hope to see you there!

We reserved a table for our large group of 16 and we were informed that it would be about $150 for the table. We were told it would include a bottle of prosecco and automatic gratuity. But we were warned that if we showed up after 10, we'd still have to pay the cover charge ($5). The inside has low lighting and there is a security guard posted at the entrance. The spot is surrounded by a couple of fast food spots, like the dog haus. And, of course, a taco truck and hot dog vendor show up later in the night! I appreciated that the music was at a good volume; I didnt have to scream to people to get them to hear me. They have a water station conveniently located at the bar. The drinks were great (they've got happy hour prices before 10). And its pretty empty until after 10. I enjoyed my margarita and the Mexican candy shot that I was able to request to have made. Honestly, the drinks were awesome! Since some people from our party werent able to show (down to 11), we were able to ask about the smaller group table, closer to the bar. Our original table was in the back, after the dance floor. Its great if you want to be isolated. Our table ended up being $100, probably cause we didnt get that promised prosecco and it didnt have table service, which worked for us. We had fun dancing. Even though, the music being played wasnt what we consider as throwback hip-hop/reggaeton. The bathrooms were pretty small, with an odd layout (a step before the two stalls). I'd check this nightclub out again!

It's a restaurant with an overall speakeasy vibe BUT is not dark and foreboding. Rather, its high ceilings, well spaced out tables, and appropriately lit dining/bar space has a welcoming, cool vibe! And the music to fill the space before the live music was well, my kinda music - vibey 80s/90s hip hop. On top of that, the STAFF - the folks we met on a Monday (senior citizen hour) night were incredibly kind and attentive. We did stay through the first set of musicians that performed and it was great. Loud, but not loud enough that me and my friend couldn't still talk. Now onto the food. A nice surprise, considering this is a music joint! That bread was solid. The side portions decent - mushrooms and broccoli were fine. The steak was a generous size, cooked appropriately medium rare, and came with a unique side of bone marrow salsa. That was a nice, interesting touch. Was it the BEST food I've ever had? Not exactly, BUT it was the best food as part of a music joint, in the Valley. So the 5 star rating is really for the OVERALL experience.

We came in at 7:30pm on Wed. 7/10/26 and they were having a special collaboration prefix dinner between Chef Oscar Torres and Chef Joe Garcia. Normally this is an à la carte restaurant, but tonight was a special event. They offer valet parking or you can park at a meter on Lankershim. You would never even guess there is a restaurant here when you look at the building from the outside. The name of the restaurant isn't even visible anywhere. Once you walk in, it's like you are transported to another world. The place was packed and the music was bumping. The vibes were immediately great and the moody lighting made for some cool ambience. We were seated immediately and our table happened to be right in front of the band stand. They were absolutely OUTSTANDING and the highlight of the evening! You could tell every single person in the quartet really felt every note they were playing in their soul. The harpist was exceptionally good. It was such a joy to listen to them while we ate our meal. Speaking of our meal, it was 7 courses with each chef using the same ingredients to create completely different dishes. It was a cool concept and everything tasted very good. Very fresh and excellent quality ingredients in every dish. The meal had 2 downsides for me and one of them was the dessert. It was a coconut pudding with some sort of fruit granita on top, with a slice of melon on ice. It felt cheap, almost as if there wasn't even any effort in coming up with something substantial and decent. The pudding itself was grainy, and the granita was already melted when it came to the table. For me, it didn't taste good and it didn't work. The other downside was the wait time between the risotto course and the fish course. Our server told us "they're super backed up with the Halibut in the kitchen", so I'm not sure what happened. It was about a 30 minute wait before we got the fish, but I will say it was cooked to perfection. I really liked this place and would like to try it again under regular circumstances. I've heard a lot of good things about their food and I'd like to try things from their actual menu. This experience was a 4-star, but maybe next time it will be a 5-star.
