New Mexico patty melt.
Tom R.

Came here as it was close to my hotel and had some good reviews. I ordered the New Mexico patty melt with fries and was very happy with the meal. Burger was cooked to order and was quite flavorful with a nice kick from the green chiles. It was served on a very flavorful rye bread that was slightly bigger than the burger so there were a few bites of just bread, but it was very good bread so I didn't mind! The restaurant features an open kitchen so it was fun to watch the cooks making the food. The music was really enjoyable, and not so loud as to be annoying. My waitress was pleasant but didn't do a very good job of checking up on me. I ordered an excellent ale to start and finished it soon after my meal arrived. I was hoping for another but she didn't come by to check on me until I was nearly done with my meal. I mentioned this to her and she apologized, but there was no sincerity in her voice or her actions. Overall a good experience and I definitely recommend the restaurant. I just hope you get a server with a little better people skills.

House-Smoked Salmon

Came here for dinner and loved it! Everything was cooked perfectly and done so well. The salmon appetizer was insane. I want to try to order it with a side salad next time just for my meal, it's that good! The fish tacos were also fantastic. I love how it's just a massive slab of fish that you assemble yourself. I can't wait to come back!

The brisket was delicious tacos were delicious. I also ordered the cornbread but do not recommend the it. It would fall apart when I attempted to eat it. The texture and favor were not that good. The price on my entree plate was around $16.00. The bread was a bit pricey considering it's not that good. Plus it seemed that I had been served a 3 day old cornbread. I hope the cook baked a better batch. Or maybe he just doesn't have pride in his work. I had tried this place because it had a good rating. I won't be back. Im still thankful cuz it didn't take long to be served and attended. The establishment is casual environment and small. The wait staff was pleasant.

The Grill is one of my favorite restaurants in San Angelo! The food is always amazing and the service and atmosphere are great as well. The smoked salmon app is top notch...and the jalapeño cornbread app is next level. I am pretty sure they use it for the croutons in the salad also... elevates the whole salad! The surf and turf is reasonably priced and one of the best I have had. And their drinks are delicious with a nice selection and variety of top shelf liquors. A must try when in San Angelo!

This is one of the restaurants that everyone recommended to me when I asked about where to eat. I say in their enclosed patio because it was heated and warmer than inside the restaurant. Service was fast and friendly. Food was good. I got the cast iron corn bread planning on taking it home. That was amazing. I was told it had poblano peppers. But it also has cheese! I also got the brisket tacos. They were very good. I had had the ribs recommended to me, but the waitress said it was a lot of food, and I am leaving town soon. So I'll it some other time. I got the tres leches cake to go. It also was great. Not the best I've had, that's still in Ecuador. But it was saturated and flavorful. It had fruit and whipped cream on the side. Both plusses! I recommend the grill. Great experience. I'll be back when back in town.

"GOING THERE AGAIN" - For the last few days, my Lovely Wife…read morehas been seeing those "Big Juicy Burger" commercials on TV, and she drools and then talks about how good they look. Well, yesterday afternoon, she saw another "Big Juicy Burger" Commercial and started drooling again. Then she spoke about dinner, and it wasn't about those "Big Juicy Burgers" she's been drooling over the last couple of days. She said, "For dinner tonight, (followed by a very low voice), I can bake that meatloaf we have in the freezer ----------- (then upped her voice) ------------ or, how about going to Chili's for a Burger" (but I know she meant those 'Big Juicy Burgers'). Well, I know where this is going. She wants to go out to Chili's for those "Big Juicy Burgers" they have. Now, let's have a little fun here. I replied, "I Love Meatloaf". ----long pause here----(this is when I received that 'Look', and you know what that 'Look' is ---- "but how about heading out to Chili's for those Big Juicy Burgers you've been drooling over the last few days." (nice save) I know I chose the right place, because she started drooling again. We are going to Chili's for dinner to get those "Big Juicy Burgers". We left for Chili's a little early because, you guessed it, she began drooling again, and she looks so cute ----------- and a little scary. But, she is very happy, and I love a Happy Wife. Chili's is not far from the house, and when we arrived, only a couple of people were waiting to be seated. We were shown to our table. "Q" is our Server, and we informed her as to what we want and ordered our drinks. Diet Coke for my Wife and a Zero Coke for me. Now, I'll explain what those "Big Juicy Burgers" are on Chili's Menu. They are called "3-for-Me" and you get lots of choices. I know I have written about this before, but this is worth writing about again - drooling does that to a person. First, you choose your 'beverage', then a 'starter', with choices including Fresh Warm Chips with Salsa, a Salad, or Soup. Then your main choice; **The "Big QP Burger", Quarter Pound Seasoned Burger grilled perfectly, with 2-slices of American Cheese, diced Red Onions, Pickles, Ketchup & Mustard. Served with French Fries. **The "Big Smasher Burger", Quarter Pound Seasoned Burger grilled perfectly, with Thousand Island, American Cheese, Red Onions, Pickles & Lettuce. Served with French Fries. They also offer other choices for a couple of bucks more, like the "Old Timer Burger", Chicken Bacon Ranch Quesadillas, and Classic Sirloin (6oz), Crispy Chicken and a few other choices, which may differ at each Chili's location. "Q", our Server, took our order. Diet Coke for my wife and a Coke Zero for me. We are going with the "Big QP Burger" for each of us; mine will come with a Salad and Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing, and my wife is getting the Chips and Salsa. Orders are in, and our drinks came out immediately. We toasted to "US", and enjoyed our Tall-Cold drinks. Soon, my Salad arrived, and it looked good. Poured a good amount of dressing on the salad and enjoyed some Fresh, Crisp, and Cold, Saladliciousness. They pack a lot of salad in this bowl, and it's all very good. My Wife's Fresh Chips and Salsa arrived, and there is enough, with leftovers, for two people, and it's a serving for 'one'. You get a lot with this "3-for-Me" deal. We both enjoyed those Chips and that Salsa is some of the best around, Thick & Tasty. Just after I finished my Salad, our "Big QP Burgers" arrived, and they are Huge for being a quarter-pounder. My patty is sticking out of two sides of the bun - that's more than a quarter-pounder. There are also two slices of cheese on this, one under and one on top of the meat patty, with lots of pickles and goodies that are just oozing out. Now I'm drooling and loving every drool. This is One Big Burger, and the first bite tells you that it's also Juicy. My Wife is drooling with every bite and loving it all. She is very happy. The French Fries are plentiful, and golden-brown with a slight crunch - and very tasty. We finished our Burgers and ate a lot of Chips and French Fries, but didn't finish them all. "Q" brought us a To-Go container along with a bag for the Chips to reheat in the Microwave, and a container for the Salsa. She also offered us To-Go Drinks (Diet Coke & Coke Zero). That's Customer Service at its finest. "Q" earned the "Dollar-Bow-Tie" Award for going 'above-n-beyond' the norm. And she loved it. Our bill was only $10.99 each for all this food, and we took some home. This is the Best Deal in Town. By the way, this Chili's was almost packed on a Monday night. When you find yourself drooling at home watching those Juicy Burger TV Commercials, just go out and get you one at Chili's - ya gonna luv whatever one you choose, or upgrade to the other choices.

The food was just okay, but Cassie was very on the ball. She was extremely courteous and proficient.read more

Hannah is an amazing waitress…read more Hand breaded chicken were delicious as well as the Brisket queso.

#1 This is about the Steak…read more Ambience was great. Service was great. Pretty much everything was great, even the White cheddar stuffed mushrooms and Caesar's salad. What wasn't great was the Ribeye. And I think it's time restaurants STOP over tenderizing the steaks. A true steak lover wants to be able to cut through their steak. And because you can't realistically needle the hell out of the edges of a steak, you get that false impression when it is first set down in front of you that this is going to be a great steak... Then the issues begin. Medium is warm pick...the only thing warm pink was that first cut a the edge. The rest (that I could get through) ran the gambit of medium rare to damn near blue. Strange because I also ordered the parm-crust, which meant it would be subject a little more time in heat to melt the parm... And I think its because of that needle tenderizer restaurants use. You destroy the muscle fibers so much that the heat is no longer transferring within the steak properly. And what does over tenderizing do? It turns what could have been a great steak...into...MUSH. You can't cut through it because the fibers have begun spaghettification, so there's singular muscle strands that are straining to hold the meat together. My brother got the 20oz, and ended up just picking the steak up with his hands and trying to gnaw the meat off the bone when the knife no longer worked. The only person that got away with a truly good meal was my father who had ordered the Chicken fried steak. Kinda hard to over tenderize cubed steak since its traditionally the toughest cut. So I got about 60% through my ribeye and just called it quits. It became a wasted effort...you know the kind...where if you took it to the end you'd have to go to McD's for a burger because you burned so many calories just trying to eat the "meal". Maybe this is something that needs to be taken up management, have the servers if they want steak or mush. Strange thing I had seen a Youtube documentary on this very same thing, but never thought the steak at Longhorn would be worse than the steak at Roadhouse, which was mentioned as over tenderizing. All I can say, is if they continue with this practice, I can NOT recommend Longhorn, ANYWHERE for even a Waffle House quality steak. At one point I was fearing I had been bitten by the Texas tick that gives you Alpha-gal syndrome because I was actually getting a little nauseous trying to eat my steak at how mushy it was. It was only holding shape by the will of the sear and the parm-crust.

This a really neat place mostly due to the amazing views you have out the side window of the dining…read moreroom the buffet is served in. Clear view of the concho river as you eat your Sunday brunch is a pretty nice deal. The buffet is really good with made to order texas shapped waffles or mini waffles at your pick. Toppings abound as well. You can also get made to order omelets with all the fixings. They have prime rib as well but on our visit they ran out early but no fear... chef Carlos brought out a tray of grilled sirloin steaks for the final hour of the brunch service! How cool is that!? They also have a salad bar and fruit bar with several toppings and 1 soup. savory chicken veg w/rice was the option we had on our visit and it was super good! They have hot food bins to get your food from via self serve utencils. You have the follow to pick from: cornmeal baked catfish, cornmeal baked chicken, wild rice, seasoned diced fried potatoes, mac n' cheese, fresh hot made biscuits, sausage patties, bacon, green beans w/bacon, baked corn mini corn on the cob. No scrambled eggs or eggs of any kind for self serve and no pancakes or french toast in case your curious on those. Dessert table has apple and peach cobbler, vanilla ice cream, and several kind of pie slices. Chef Carlos was out and about talking to the patrons and even caught up with me for a picture as I so often like to get on first time visits to places I like. He is a class act guy and puts on one awesome Sunday brunch buffet from 11-2pm. I cant wait to come back for the lunch buffet they do from 11-2pm every day accept Monday and Saturday.
