When your food tastes this good, you have to take a picture of it by the lake

Simple, fresh & tastes so good! My husband and I came across this restaurant while visiting a cottage by Kawartha Lakes and since we had our dog, Simba, we did takeout. The service was nice and friendly. I ordered the simple grilled cheese and hubby had the 'orange is the new black' item on the menu. It was served with a side of chips. The only downside was that there was nowhere to eat around the restuarant (no benches or tables, etc) We took our take out containers and sat by the lake to enjoy our meal which was just around the corner. Also, great prices!! Don't the street another restaurant had a similar item on the menu for $15 (nothing on the side). This was around $12 each (with chips). The simple grilled cheese was around $6. Overall, very happy with the food!

Stopped in for a quick bite while in Bobcaygeon. Tried a Gouda, tomato, and bacon grilled cheese. The sandwich would have been much nicer on a better quality bread and cooked on a panini grill. A nice crusty French bread would have made it all the much better. As such, it was just a ho hum sandwich. Also was a bit put off that the manager shooed two girls away from the bench outside the restaurant because they were eating a slice of pizza from across the road. It wasn't busy at all and they weren't causing any problems, just enjoying the beautiful day with their food. Not a good way to treat tourists which you so much rely upon. You can bet if they had any thought of stopping in for a grilled cheese on another day, that wouldn't be happening. Perhaps the managers time would be better spent fixing the large hole in the concrete sidewalk at the front door before they get sued when someone trips and hurts themselves then shooing away potential customers.

More than just your average grilled cheese!! The place itself is quaint and charming, owners are friendly, knowledgeable, and go out of their way to please. The different parings of soups and sandwiches are innovative and mouth watering. Reasonably priced to boot. 5 stars Chris and Daniel!!

I love this place! They have a set grilled cheese menu with lots of options, plus they always have a special with 3 different homemade soups available. I haven't had anything here I didn't like! Yesterday I tried the special (I can't remember the name of it!) which had cheddar, blue cheese, bacon and homemade guacamole. It was even better than it sounds! All of the sandwiches come with chips and a little dill pickle. The soup comes in China tea cups. Such a whimsical little touch! I had the carrot, apple, ginger soup and it was fantastic! I was worried because I sometimes find ginger soups to be overpowering, but this had the perfect amount. The staff is warm and friendly and the decor is sort of an eccentric country/cottage look. The restaurant is also a mini art gallery with some cool pieces on the walls which are available for sale. Check this place out!

Good food but they're not open for very long. Hours are a little funky. The decor is very interesting and in a great location in Bobcaygeon.

So when my cousin decided on her birthday date that she would like to come to this establishment then I got excited. Located on Main Street Newmarket, this little shop has many soups selections to choose from. They also let you have a sample to make sure you're making the right choice! We both decided to get the soup, sandwich and a bottle of water ( $11 ) and boy did we make a good choice. Normally you would except a small soup bowl with a sandwich however this soup was in a HUGE (to me anyways lol) bowl with a full sized sandwich. My soup of choice was the chicken noodle with a ham & cheese croissant. I feel like chicken noodle is always a good staple to determine if it is worth coming back. I must say, it definitely was worth it. The chicken noodle soup was soo filling. Had some hearty vegetables and they definitely did not skip out on the chicken. I had to push myself to finish my sandwich as I was already too full! Thank you for amazing service and I am definitely coming back

I have also got a free bowl of soup and a free dessert that expired five days after the deal was in my offers in the Z! Eats app. Zoup! (also known as Z! Eats) currently has three locations in Ontario. I tend to go to the one on Dixie in Mississauga, as it's closest to my workplace. I decided to expand my horizons last Saturday by visiting this one in Newmarket while I was in the area running a few errands. This eatery is by highway 404, so it's convenient to get here. It's in the same plaza as Booster Juice. This eatery is in a row of four businesses, between Starbucks and Osmow's. I pulled into the parking lot on a Soggy Saturday. I pulled out my Z! Eats app and placed my order. I had a $2-off offer to use. I got the following items: - Wild mushroom barley soup - Pulled pork mac and cheese I paid through the app. I had to add a credit card. All was great. I got an estimated time of five minutes for my order to be ready. I got distracted seeing a bakery in the same plaza. I visited it while waiting for my order to be ready. I probably spent fifteen minutes at this bakery. Oops! I drove back to Z! Eats (it's a vast plaza) and got the same parking spot. I walked into the eatery. I was the only person here. I got a friendly man who happened to be the owner. I complimented his hours. This eatery is open till 7 pm on Saturdays. The Dixie location is open till 5 pm, but I have been there well before closing and it was already closed. It was a lovely chat. I wasn't expecting him to give me a coupon for a BOGO entree option the next time that I am here or at the Cambridge location. So nice! He asked me whether I wanted butter with my baguette. I said yes. He had my order ready and handed it over to me. He wished me a safe drive, as there was a freezing rain warning. I wished him the same thing when he hit the road in an hour. I took the backroads and then feasted at home. I am absolutely longing to have the wild mushroom barley soup again. It had so many sliced mushrooms, carrots, onions, barley, and more. It was hearty and delicious. I got a bowl. I find the cup to be too small. I haven't tried whatever the larger size is. I may need to get it next time. This soup was fabulous. It's also vegan. The pulled pork mac and cheese was excellent. I was pleasantly surprised to get shells. They were perfect to scoop up more of the cheesy sauce. The shells were cooked perfectly. I loved it. The pulled pork was generous. I liked that the barbeque sauce was drizzled over the pulled pork only. Sometimes, the sauce is overly sweet that it overpowers everything. The sauce was smoky and tangy. It was perfect without dominating the mac and cheese. I tend to have the baguette the next day for breakfast. I like making eggs, slicing the baguette in half, toasting it in a pan, and then putting scrambled eggs on top of each slice. The baguette is excellent and I always look forward to getting it with my soup. You can also get crackers instead of the baguette. If you don't like either, you can also say no thanks. It was my first time getting mac and cheese at Z! Eats. So good! I'll be back for more. This location had tables and chairs if you'd like to dine in. It was clean and cheerful. I'm glad that I dropped by this eatery. I'll be back for more. It's the closest location to my home. (115)

It was not chunky like other baked potato soups & was quite smooth. Lobster bisque was good - rich with a pronounced sherry note.  French onion soup was pretty good. Since it was scooped it couldn't be broiled by the bowl but there was still a fair bit of cheese in the soup. Turkey chill was good - rich & chunky. There was more turkey than I expected.  Italian wedding soup was good, with a nice herb profile. Roadhouse sirloin chili was a nice rendition of chili, with a spin of using beef shreds. French bread hunks (served with the soups) were decent. I could tell they would be amazing if they were fresh & crusty. Italian market sandwich was decent. The herbed bread was good & the toppings decent. Too bad iceberg lettuce was one of the vegetables. The balsamic vinaigrette glaze was too light though. Buffalo chicken mac & cheese was decent. The richness of the sauce doesn't go with the tartness of buffalo though & the tomato on top had a weird texture. The chicken was not crispy.

It's next to Booster Juice. I love soup. It was finally time to check it out a couple of Saturdays ago. I had no problem finding a parking spot steps away from the door. I backed into a spot and walked in. I got the most helpful male staffer. He was busy preparing a customer order. It allowed me to check out the space. There were two folks dining in. I got to peruse the menu and decide what I wanted. When I was ready, I got the following items: - A flight of soup (three flavours) - Chicken and bacon cobb salad This place offers way more soup varieties than I had anticipated. A flight consists of three soup varieties. There were a dozen soups on the menu. Wow! I got these soups for my flight: - Clam chowder - Chicken noodle soup - Lobster bisque I paid with a credit card. I tapped and all was good. I waited and watched my order being prepared. It didn't take long. I got everything in a paper bag. I thanked him and headed to my car to put it in an insulated bag. I then drove home to have dinner. The soups were awesome. They were still hot when I got them. A flight is perfect if you want to sample a few soups. The lobster bisque was excellent. I was not expecting chunks of lobster in it. I thought that it would be a smooth bisque. Nope. It was even better! The chicken noodle soup was comforting. The chicken looked like it was processed and put together in rectangular form. I wish that it was real chicken meat that you could recognize. Otherwise, the veggies and noodles were hearty. The clam chowder was amazing. There were small chunks of clams in each spoonful. Delicious! Soups do run on the saltier side. It wasn't disgusting. However, if you are on a sodium-reduced diet, the soups may not be a good fit for you. I like salad. I went with the chicken and bacon cobb salad. The chicken was shredded chicken breast meat. The ingredients were fresh. This salad felt fancy because it had blue cheese. Ranch was my dressing. I got two small containers of it. This salad was great. The only downside was that there was a patch of slimy mixed greens at the bottom of the bowl. I moved it off to the side. No harm. I signed up for Z! points. It was nice that I could sign up a day later and scan the QR code on my receipt to get 21 points. It's $1 spent to get a point. I came back here yesterday just after 5 pm. I found out that this place closes at 5 pm on Saturdays. Wow, that's so early! I have a coupon for a free bowl of soup. I'll redeem in next week when I'm in the area. I love soup and salad. This place fuels my love for both. I will get a grilled cheese sandwich next time. I guess rebranding as Z!Eats makes sense, as this place offers more than soup alone. (32)
