Before heading up to Cedar Breaks, we stopped in this local coffee shop for a few items. I picked up an iced matcha latte and a house baked croissant, and my friend had the Mexican hot chocolate. The matcha latte was okay. I was a little disappointed in the lack of matcha flavor it offered. It was also heavy on the milk flavor rather than matcha. The croissant was good with a slight flakiness and buttery flavor. It was a little more bready than with those great flaky layers. My friend said his Mexican hot chocolate was good and had a subtle spiciness. The service was friendly enough. They offer a very good amount of inside seating. There's a variety of house baked goods available. It's a busy place. read more

We stopped by Grind Coffeehouse on a busy Saturday afternoon and absolutely loved it. Even with the crowd, the ambiance felt warm, cozy, and really welcoming. They gave us a heads up about a 20-minute wait for food before we ordered, which we really appreciated--and it ended up being spot on. The staff was so kind and friendly the whole time. I got the yogurt with granola and it was sooo good--super fresh fruit and packed with flavor. I'd honestly go back just for that. Such a great spot! read more

I was driving down Main Street and The Grind House caught my eye. From the outside it looked like a cozy, inviting local coffee shop, and the inside had the same nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill from there. I ordered a house coffee, and the male employee helping me rang it up and tossed an empty cup onto the counter where it landed on its side. There wasn't any explanation that the coffee was self-serve or where to find it. I walked past the center tables and found the pump coffee dispensers, and they weren't very clearly marked what was what. When I finally poured my coffee, it was only lukewarm. On top of that, the coffee itself just didn't taste very good. It's disappointing because the shop has a lot of potential and the atmosphere is appealing, but decent customer service, clearer guidance for customers, and hot, fresh coffee are pretty basic expectations that weren't met here. My husband and brother and I stopped in here one afternoon and absolutely loved it - the ambiance (how cute), the quality of the drinks (delicious), and the service (wonderful)! My husband liked his coffee so much that he ended up buying some beans to use at home. I also LOVE that this coffeehouse is connected to a bookstore, I was bummed because the bookstore was closed when we went, but the connection is awesome. Nice ambiance, great coffee and incredible baked goods. Got an almond croissant, immediately went back and got another one after tasting it and went back the next day for another one (and got a chocolate streussel muffin which was also delicious). Service was excellent (they even remembered my name from the day before). They have coffee and merchandise (e.g. mugs, t-shirts, etc) as well. And there's a book store right next door with an entrance directly from inside The Grind. Highly recommend! read more

Great local coffee shop. This is the kind of place I love to find when traveling. Unique to the area and able to have a great coffee. Everyone inside was perky and helpful with helping us figure out our orders. They also were great for getting coffee refills. Inside has a bunch of different seating to choose from. They are also connected to a bookstore. We had waffles, breakfast sandwiches, drip coffee and mochas. The waffle with fresh fruit was very good. Breakfast sandwiches hit the spot and were filling for breakfast. The bagels they were served on were very good. Coffee was fantastic. They roast their own coffee and it was awesome. You can get house drip and have 3-4 coffees to choose from with unlimited refills. Their dark roast was fantastic. They also have their coffee for purchase. Horrible customer service. When I kindly let them know they made my drink wrong, they rolled their eyes at me and acted put out that I was asking them to fix it. Maybe they train their employees to have attitude and feel entitled. They were so rude. And I was hoping at lease the food would make up for it, but sadly mc Donald's breakfast would have been a better option. The bacon was shriveled and paper thin, the eggs looked rubbery and fake. Recently I had my first visit here and it was amazing. My daughter just opened a boutique down the way and sent me there to get us coffees and croissants. I had pistachio coffee and it was the best ever and their croissants are so fresh baked it was out of this world. There was a guy out near there playing guitar and singing really well so that was a nice touch. Can't wait to go back again, like stat! read more

Went in there asked if they had brown sugar syrup, dark hair blue eyed tatted up girl told me they didnt so I just got a caramel latte, right after I payed she turned around to her coworkers and said "this isnt starbucks" bih, do you know brown sugar is a flavor not a starbucks drink? Then they proceeded to give me a caramel latte that was a SHITTY looking macchiato, the caramel sauce was all the way on the bottom (which i dont get why you guys use sauce on lattes, not everything is a macchiato) and it was flavorless!! We struggled to even mix the caramel in and we ended up throwing it away, if you're a barista dont bother coming to this place! This is just one more place that claims to be "unique" & have good quality coffee when in reality their baristas have no clue how to make a regular half decent latte & the customer service was pretty ssa. Stopped here in Cedar City to checkout thwir historic town.Came from Yellowstone National park and after having to taste cowboy coffee,i crave for more coffe spice! Truth is I am very disappointed in this Mexican Mocha.It literally taste like cold hot chocolate. I love this place! Great vide. Only issues are these, consistency is not great, unfortunately often I get a latte that only tasks like milk. The food for whatever reason rages ages. When the latte is right though, dang it slaps!!! Last time we ordered the barista stated a 30 minute wait. It ended up being a 40 minute wait and I also keep an eye on the staff and they had 3 people chatting in the food section definitely not working fast. I don't know about you guys, but I have never taken 40 minutes to toast a bagel and put cream cheese on it. Lol. I know the owners. My sister and I went a few week ago for the first time and it was amazing. We got the homemade poptarts and chai. We went today April 4. The music was really loud and we could hardly hear the worker taking our order. My sister ordered a poptart and I got the Ube Roll, we both ordered the chai. It took a really long time for the drinks to come out but we weren't in a rush. We got the food and drinks to go and when we got back and tasted the chai it was straight coffee with milk. We watched them make it and we saw them put chai in the cups, however it did not taste anything like chai. We also noticed that some of the Ube got on my sisters poptart. We are concerned that they are not cleaning between using tools. My sister has a lavender allergy, and if she were to have any in her food and drinks she could swell up. Neither of us drink coffee as it hurts our stomachs, and its against our religious beliefs. Please clean your equipment between drinks and handling food, you could cause people way more harm than just us. read more

Made a stop here to grab some breakfast sandwiches and coffee during our drive home. The Grind is located on Main Street and is easy to spot. Parking is available on the street, but they also have additional spots located toward the posterior section of the building. There are many different seating options: tables, bar stools, and a few couches surrounding a cozy fireplace. There's a pass-thru opening into the bookstore, so it's a great place to browse while waiting for your coffee. Service was friendly. We ordered 4 breakfast sandwiches, 2 coffees, and 2 smoothies. The food took longer than we expected, but our drinks came out pretty quickly. They offer a nice variety of breakfast and lunch items. For drinks, they can make your typical coffeehouse offerings: espresso, lattes, mochas, pour-overs, and tea. They also offer house-made syrups. I had the brown sugar cinnamon syrup in my coffee and it was delish :) Our food was okay, but I enjoyed my coffee. I'm from Washington and I have lived in southwest Utah for almost a year now. The one thing I've missed immensely is my coffee. There just isn't a culture anywhere like Washington has. I am happy to say that this coffeehouse is all of that without the pretension. The coffee is reminiscent of Seattles best, roasted right to perfection. Done in-house by the owner who I swear has some sort of masters degree in coffee from a college in Seattle, Egypt and Belgium. (Yeah I a know... it's seriously that good.) it's quiet and the patrons are mainly college students who are working on their homework.
