I really enjoy what The Grove Vintage Home Store offers. I like to buy gifts for friends here. However, last night I had a negative experience with the staff that was working. I wanted to purchase 3-4 floral hanging banners (same ones that are hanging on their walls as a display). They had 2 bins with banners but I couldn't find the ones that I wanted. So I asked the person working, who was talking to a friend, if she could help me look for them. She pointed vaguely at the 2 bins and I asked "where are you pointing?". She said they are in the bins. Well, I knew that. I couldn't find them so I was asking for help. She turned back to her friend and continued her conversation. I continued to look and decided after unrolling another 10 without any assistance after asking, that my time and money would be better spent at another local store. read more

So they do have trendy clothes. However, I don't know what type of training the employees receive but let me explain my experience from start to finish... Walk in and they said "HI" but didn't ask if I needed help with anything or made small talk. I myself work in customer service and you should always be attentive to your customers. Then the employees started to talk amongst themselves at the register. I took a picture so no one thought I was fabricating a review. They started to talk about Fergie and Disneyland. Then one of the employees started to eat behind the register and another one was on her phone! In the photo if you zoom in you can see a customer in the background and all the employees talking and they weren't talking quietly! It was to the point where I can literally quote what they were saying! I'm not one to nitpick and I usually don't care about this sort of thing but this was completely unacceptable. We had ZERO help instead the guy proceeded to tell his fellow coworkers that Fergie was better than the Beatles (joking I'm assuming) but loud enough for the entire store to hear! Won't be returning. My sister needed to try something on and no one helped and she went in the dressing room alone and the employees said nothing and didn't offer to help. I'm not coming back again and my sister won't be returning. My friends and I are going to Coachella next year and I would rather find cute festival clothes elsewhere. read more

This review has been a long time coming. I have been coming to the grove since they had more resale than retail, so I think that would be about 3 years. I'm loving the new look inside the store ( of course it was done at the beginning of the year ) as well as the clothing selection something for everyone. I have always had an amazing experience shopping here with the employees who go out of their way to accommodate me. It's difficult shopping with a newborn and they always let me have the bigger dressing stall to fit my stroller in or car seat. When I was super pregnant they helped me find dresses that I could wear for my business trade shows. I have found a dress for a bridal shower I hosted, dresses for a trade show, dresses for school when I teach, and cute tees for camping. read more

First, let me just talk about the service. Amazing customer service from Dylan at the clothing store and Oscar at the home store! Such great vibes! They seemed so happy to help other customers and myself out. And the clothes were so cute and well priced! Other than the two things I explain below, I can recommend the store for the well-curated, quality vintage items. The reason for my two-star rating: THERE ARE NO RETURNS ACCEPTED FOR ANY ITEMS - even the new items. This and the angry store owner/manager I spoke with about returning my new blanket purchase are my problems with the store. By the time I spoke with this person, I was feeling a little upset over the smell on the new blanket and the no-return policy and they were in the mood to scrap. It was very unpleasant. At the end of the discussion, they agreed to accept the return if the blanket had not been washed - but I had already tried to get the smell out by washing - so no return. My bad. BE AWARE: If you end up tempted by the beautiful, new, El Paso Blanket Company blankets like I was, I would recommend taking the time to hold them up to your nose and make sure you're ok with the smell. The blanket I purchased had a chemical smell that I got the heebie jeebies about which is why I wanted to return it. I had a sweater I purchased last year that had the same odor and I could never get it out. I've heard enough about the use of strong chemicals like formaldehyde to set color, etc - and, if that's what the smell is, it's bad news. The unpleasant owner/manager swore they were made in the El Paso, Texas. They ARE sold by a company out of El Paso but the blankets are labelled "Made in India" - so I think it's possible something unhealthy could be causing the odor. read more

So cute! I come here every so often when I feel like splurging on myself. Recently I went in to get a last minute gift for a friend and there were so many things to chose from that were perfect gift ideas. They even gift wrapped for me! Their style of clothing is very country/vintage which is such a breath of fresh air when most other clothing stores for women in their twenties are trying to sell revealing clothes. The Grove Vintage has been located on Indian Hill for about a year and I've just step in this afternoon. It has an earthy, free spirit type style or for the current generation the Coachella type looks. Its a mix between second hand products and freshly purchased merchandise. Although I did not take that much time on the clothes, I was more so attracted to their jewelry. They had several affordable accessories. Can't vouch for the quality and how long it'll last but I'm giving it a chance none the less. From the review below is seems the store has a no returns policy. Walked in with my son and I just looking around for some cute fines very cute store love everything about it but it will not have my service. So as I said we walked in there were three employees on the floor we were in the store for a good three minutes no greeting no hello hi how are you can I help you so finally I looked at them and said hello hello how are you and that's when they finally responded. This was at the clothing store. So when I was at the other grove store where they just sell bunch of miscellaneous stuff one of the employees from the clothing store came in and started talking to one of his other employees and what makes it even worse is he started cursing mind you I have a nine-year-old boy with me. I came in today with a friend who wore a face shield that was covering her whole face that is autistic and has very bad anxiety that can't wear a face mask. We were told to leave. Very cute shop, always new stuff so it's definitely a place to visit often! I LOVE their candles, and they have some really great sales as well. I have a pair of sunglasses that I bought on a whim for just $10 and I get compliments literally every time I wear them anywhere. Dylan is a manager there and always so sweet and helpful. I would advise the manager or owner to check their cameras from this evening to see what they're wasting money paying these two to do. I like the clothing part of the store the workers there are very nice however this same store opened an accessory and furniture section a door or two down and the worker there treated my friend horribly. She was asking a question, in English, about the sage sticks and the girl working there rudely says "I don't speak Spanish" my friend has some accent because Spanish is her first language but the way she dealt with the situation was insanely rude...she continue to elevate it by saying "I can't understand u your accent is too thick" I can't believe that someone could be so rude when we were going to buy lots of things to decorate my dorm. They lost our service for being racist and insensitive toward people that are obviously attempting to speak a second or third language where the worker could only speak one. REALLY CUTE CLOTHES/ACCESSORIES/EVERYTHING...BUT...I got the worst vibe. Went in for the first time and the employees made me feel like I wasn't welcome.
