Fred and I went to this tiny bar in Progress Ridge. This perfectly placed slice of heaven was the perfect stop, after a long day of shopping fun. We sat at the bar, and the woman that tended that bar taps was such a delight! She was knowledgeable and gave Fred tasters of all the ciders they had in house; while giving me all the laughs I could handle! Had an *excellent* time at The Growlerie this past Friday while visiting the Beaverton area, what a fantastic little watering hole. Charity the bartender was the absolute sweetest, and their GM Matt is very down to earth and passionate about keeping an expertly curated and varied tap list fit for anyone's palette. They also host live music regularly with no cover, and when it's not too wet outside, their back patio along the river is a real treat. Unlike many taprooms, they even have a small-but-mighty food selection if you're in need of something to soak up the suds. So, if you want to be treated differently, please come here. I've been coming here for several years whenever I visit family and I've really liked it. But tonight (8/31) our server was just terrible. She treated me and my husband differently; the only Asian couple in the bar not getting served. Everyone else gets a warm welcome and service. Awesome. Then when we try to leave she gives us the wrong bill. No apology for us because we should just be grateful to be drinking at the Growlerie. Another guy finally checks us out and I let him know something didn't feel right. He did give us a discount, but I'm just not sure about this place anymore. This is such a great spot to grab a drink and enjoy the view. Also a good place to watch the game. Food options are pretty limited here. Mostly just small plates to snack on. No better place to grab a beer in Beaverton after work in the summer. A small but welcoming atmosphere with a great selection on tap from all the top breweries. If you can't find anything you like, they always have my go to (RPM from Boneyard). The bartenders are friendly and the service is always on point. The best part of The Growlerie is the patio in the back, where you'll find plenty of happy dogs and calming views of the Progress Ridge lake. This isn't a place you'd go to watch the big game, but rather a place you'd meet up with that good friend you haven't seen in awhile, or to grab a drink to take the edge off of a long day at work. Not a bad spot to stop in and grab a beer or a tasting flight. The wine selection isn't great but again, not shabby. I wasn't overly excited by the selections, or the service, so I doubt we will be back but it was fine as a quick stop after back to school night. read more

A fun little place for brews on tap. Great brew board and knowledgable bartenders. The nice part was being given the chance to taste a few before purchasing. My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is location. The bar is conveniently located in a strip mall near my favorite movie theater, but it has no ambience and a strip mall feel. Tried to go here a few weeks back to have some beer on their outdoor area, but since we had a child with us we were denied service. I have always seen kids there and even their Yelp doesn't mention no kids allowed. They definitely discriminate and the gal at the door was very rude about it. A fantastic selection of delicious beverages are always available, and they are willing to let you sample if you ask nicely :) Fun events like Bingo and live music make this place super crowded, but totally worth the claustrophobic pain. The best part about this place, at least for me, is that when La Provence has a long wait time, or the movie at Cinetopia doesn't start for an hour, we can grab a beer here. Normally five stars. Getting docked for poor treatment. My husband and I are regular customers, usually filling up growlers to bring home for an evening in, or for gatherings and parties. We occasionally stop for a drink when we're on a walk with our little one. We stopped in during one of our walks recently, early weekend afternoon, and had our 9mo old with us in his stroller, who, despite being a high needs baby, was actually content and chill, not even a babble. While the sweet bartender, who has nothing to do with this, was in the middle of pouring our order, the older female owner approached me and told me, "He can't linger in here, you have to take him out," as if I were there with an animal. How was a quiet baby in a stroller lingering? While we were waiting to receive and pay for our drinks and growlers? With a sign right next to us that states minors allowed until 7pm? And plenty of other children on foot inside the bar with their parents waiting to order? Just awful treatment, and a shame for regulars. It really rubbed us the wrong way, especially having been in two different service industries, (food/hospitality and beauty), for 15 years. My husband politely tried asking her what the problem was when he heard what she said to me, and she cut him off, saying the inspectors were just in recently, and she's just following rules. Well, the sign says minors allowed, he was contained in his stroller, not making a sound, and we were WAITING FOR OUR BEVERAGES!!! Shame on you, ma'am. read more

Great way to get a growler fill from out-of-area breweries. My husband and I had really been missing our San Diego breweries. Came to The Growlerie and we were able to get a fill of one of our favorite Stone beers. We couldn't believe it! We were also able to try a few beers from other areas of Oregon and pinpoint a couple breweries we'll seek out in person. Service was good. Clientele was great. You've got to be kidding me! Christmas has come early! A growler station near my house??? That alone is worth 5 stars, let alone the fact that they had my favorite beer, Abominable on tap on my first visit! My new 2nd home has something like 40 taps displayed on an easy to follow digital board that even shows how much is left in each keg (like Bailey's). The selection is impressive, mostly from local breweries, but even more impressive they had cider and yes, about 8 offerings of kombucha on tap. If you bring a growler, a fill will set you back about $12-$14. Hungry? They have a small snack menu and you can enjoy your food at one of the tables in the back. You can even catch a game on the tv back there. They thought of all my basic needs! I of course love the concept of these growler fill places. I love that I can get great local beer closer to home. I loved the friendly employees and I even loved the cute growler theme. As I turned to leave, growler in hand, I felt like Tiny Tim and I nearly shouted, "God bless us, everyone!" read more

We were visiting friends nearby and they steered us to The Growlerie one afternoon, while they stayed home with their napping children. As others have mentioned, they have a cool menu system (on big screens above the bar) which show you beer information, including alcohol content and the type of glass it will be served in. There is also a little keg image which shows you approximately how much is still available. We both went with samplers, because I wanted to try a bunch of different Oregon beers. You just note the beer numbers you'd like on the tasting board thing and they fill them up. I could easily see us becoming regulars if we lived in the area. read more

Attentive, informed, and at the same time laid back enough to make you feel at home, even when the place is loaded. The business premise is a good one, dolling out goods in 1 to 64 ounce portions with tastes gratis. We all go through the nano-torture of wishing we had been the one to come up with this idea or that idea - important thing here is that this idea was borne, propagated to my backyard, then was populated with fantastic staff like Michelle and her minion who make the business not only work, but prosper. Our family loves The Growlerie. It has so many drink options (beer, wine, cider, kombucha, soda, etc.) and over 40 taps. It's kid friendly until 8 or 9 pm and then no minors. Although they serve appetizers there, we usually get sushi next door. As long as you are ordering drinks, the staff doesn't mind you bringing in outside food. They are so nice they get us ramekins to mix our soy sauce and wasabi. It is a busy place so seating can sometimes be a challenge. But when the weather is nice there is a lot of outdoor seating overlooking the lake at the Progress Ridge Shopping Center. read more

While I understand wirh COVID many places have had to adjust, I don't know if that contributes to our experience here. We got 1 flight of beer. 6 tasters. The final cost was $18.75. Now it may be just me, but that price seemed ridiculously high. We know prices have probably been raised to help places bounce back so we accepted that and moved on. My biggest issue was that our credit card was charged twice. For two completely different amounts. I'm not sure how that happen without it being inputted twice. and why would that happen? Hopefully it was just an error, but we probably won't be back. There are way better places with way better prices in the area. read more

This is my favorite spot. Usually go once a week, sometimes more. Taplist is amazing and they have a small selection of bottles and cans as well. Fun place to hang out, drink a pint, have a snack, and converse. Or don't converse. The servers are great. It's a busy spot and you have to come to the counter to get your drinks, no table service, so you may wait a couple minutes to be noticed - deal with it, they're not ignoring you. Kids are normally allowed until early evening, but were not allowed during the COVID shutdown restrictions which sounds like a couple recent reviewers took offense to. Boo hoo. Music inside and out, tables outside are great during non-rainy days. Dog friendly. read more
