We took our CCW class today at the Gun Store . I completed my initial class and my husband did his renewal. The two amazing woman that taught the class were knowledgeable and kept the class fun and interesting. They were passionate about gun safety and the Laws that govern Nevada related to gun ownership. Visited this place last Saturday 8/22/25 and wanted to try a few of the old school ww2 guns. Asked the guy working around 2-3pm if my girlfriend could come on the range to watch me and take pictures. Guy said they don't allow pregnant women on the shooting range. I told him she is not pregnant. He stared at me for a few seconds smiling and said, "are you sure?" with a little smart ass grin. Nice little joke, I'm sure it would've got lots of laughs if we were in middle school. Took my money to another range which was nicer, busier, and had a larger selection of guns to rent. Went here for a homie's bach party and it was a BLAST! They have all kinds of different guns laid out on the wall ranging from handguns, machine guns, shotguns, and magnums. They have package deal like the "Zombie" and "WWII" bundle ranging from $150-199+. The staffs accommodated our group and coached some of the first time shooters. It's a struggle these days to find, in abundance, anything related to the sport of shooting much less those with a more serious gun habit like collecting, building or completing. With restrictions on number of customers allowed in the shop at one time, the back order of ammunition, the limited supply of firearms for sale, the limited gun parts and the delays in background checks, you'll be lucky to enjoy the sport at all. But this place is doing their best! Still allowing gun rentals, range shooting and offering classes. There is a strict mask policy and they do monitor number of guests allowed inside lobby at any given time. I did hear them tell several customers best bet for obtaining ammunition was order direct and have delivery to your home, all gun shops are out and having to wait like everyone else. It's taking hours to get through to Carson city to complete the required background checks, due to COVID, it's restricted the number of able people accepting the calls and/or the abundance of people buying therefore the system is overwhelmed. My experience however was great, the staff friendly, helpful and eager to assist. The place is a bit crazy with half the store being empty and being remodel, and then you have the necessary restrictions, but the service is outstanding. read more

Whelp, I could be part of Seal Team 6 if it wasn't for all of the other hard work those dudes do. Or catching return fire, but I was a pretty damn good shot for a suburban Chicago guy. Good mix of people here and safety was paramount, which is nice. Did catch a decently long line to enter and shoot shit, but it was worth it. My personal fav was a sniper rifle. In the past couple months, I've been to The Gun Store about 5 times. It all started because I wanted to purchase a firearm online and have it transferred through a local FFL. Sadly, my neighborhood nearby FFL said they can't do online transfers... so I began searching around the area. I am so glad I found The Gun Store! They are able to process transfers from online purchases sent from FFL dealers for a fee of $50. I didn't mind this fee, as my nearest FFL couldn't even do a transfer, and the others in the area I found were $75-100 per transfer. While I initially approached The Gun Store merely as a transactional space to handle transfers, get-in-get-out... I was pleasantly surprised by the amazing customer service from every single employee here. From the phone calls to being greeted upon entering, every interaction has been extremely polite and refreshing. My first transfer experience was so nice that I knew I wanted to choose this store again for my next transfer. Every employee is happy to help and ready to answer any questions. There is little reason to feel intimidated here, as everyone is so down-to-earth and willing to offer help, suggestions, and opinions. After a couple visits, I began researching about concealed carrying - and I knew that if I wanted to take a CCW class, I wanted to take it specifically at The Gun Store, because I was already comfortable with the staff I had met so far, and I was confident a class here would be a positive experience. So I went on to sign up for their CCW Class - and because of their instruction, I was able to pass today! Being able to experience the class, something quite different from processing a transfer, I was still extremely impressed and happy with my experience. As expected, both instructors emphasized and took firearm safety extremely seriously. If there was ever any minor infraction, the instructors always handled it graciously - never seeming angry or annoyed. They cultivated such a nice classroom experience, that I think many of us students - who had never met before - felt comfortable being together, even some having lunch together. I would like to give some credit and shout outs to the employees I've met (I'm so sorry if I missed one or two of you!): Felecia - Thank you so much for your awesome instruction and time to teach us today for the CCW course. If I recall correctly, I think you were the first person I met at The Gun Store during my first visit, and your positive aura, excitement, and passion is awesome. I ended up using my full size pistol for my CCW Class today (even though it was in 40SW) because of your opinion and that conversation we had. I took a concealed firearm permit recertification this month. It consisted of both classroom and range training. The instructors, Felecia and Sasha were very knowledgeable and very careful to make sure everyone understood the material they presented. While the subject matter was very serious, they still made the classroom time enjoyable. It was obvious that safety was their number one priority. When it came time for the range testing, there was no question that they were not going to accept any unsafe operation. Ketzu, our range master was the most handsome, charismatic, knowledgeable, funny, and helpful guy I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. He 100% loves his job and it shows. You can definitely tell that he and his associates definitely take safety and fun seriously and to the next level. Felicia was extremely welcoming and kind. I was getting super excited showing my friends the different guns and their history and she piped in with little Tid bits and seemed happy that I was excited.
