Ok, if you can get past the part that it screams "tourist trap" from the billboards to the sometimes-scantily clad girl they have at the table outside, you'll go inside to find that the Gun Store is... Overpriced. On a lot. Sure, if you're in from out of town, especially from another country here on holiday, you may think that the prices aren't a big deal. But as a local, I'd rather not pay (on some items) up to double the price. And that's only one reason I'll stay away. The second, and highest on my list, is the complete and utter disregard for common sense by one of the employees. at my visit, I was looking at their gun cases, eavesdropping on a conversation between a cutomer and the sales person behind the counter. First, there's nothing that bugs me more than a sales person that thinks he's king of the mountain because he's practicing the open carry law here in the state (a law they don't extend to their customers, btw. You have to have it unloaded and in a case when you go in). But I digress. The customer was not very knowledgeable about the pistols of which he was asking (a .380, if you must know), and he asked specifically about the safety on one of the pistols. Now it is at this point I shudder even remembering the actions of the clerk. He said to the customer"Well it doesn't have a safety on it because it's just meant to be drawn and fired" And when as he said this, he raised the gun aiming between the other customer and myself and squeezed the trigger. Now, if that doesn't bother you, well, it should. The first rule of gun safety is that you treat every weapon as if it's a loaded weapon. Clearly, this joker forgot that rule. I visibly flinched when I heard the pistol's hammer 'click'. I didn't know what to say. It was a mixture of surprise and loathing for his complete and utter disregard for the safety of the customers in the store. I simply turned and walked out of the store, and I most certainly will not be walking back in. So if you DO go there, despite the "tourist-trap" feel, despite my warning, and if you want to spend more for less, just watch out for the white guy, short, almost curly black hair & glasses, who (gods help us all) has a pistol on his belt. read more

I wanted a CCW for years but never followed through. I now have a job that requires it. So, going online I found the 1st available appointment, (due to the min of 120 days that LVMPD will issue one in Nevada) Previously, The Gun Store and particular other gun shops around the Las Vegas Valley, I had either had a bad experience with in store or was told as such. I signed up for the CCW Course and now feel a fool. Both instructors met the obvious legal requirements to teach the class, however there was something a little bit more than one would expect from "gun nuts". More specifically, both were obviously extremely knowledgeable about weapons and being a CCW permit holder. However as I sat in the class, I saw what passionate teaching and a desire to meet not just legal requirements but to relate practical use of being a holder of responsibility. I have plenty of pro-gun friends yet, in this class there was the idea that a weapon was never to be treated as the only answer. I am not used to that with my experiences with friends that are pro gun. Professional, and personally able to relate to the oddest questions I had ever been exposed to. The Gun Store delivered. I pay attention to something else as well, how do employees interact with each other. I saw nothing but good things. And yes, how many people can say that after observing that for almost 9 hours. At the end of the day, I am really ok with paying over $100 more than I know I should for a product. Just to ensure my experience today kept everyone I interacted with employed because of more than the current political climate. Visit the Gun Store. You will not be disappointed. read more

Thanks for your help in getting our group to the Gun Store. We had an excellent time and would highly recommend the experience to others. We came on Saturday while you guys were totally swamped and your staff did a very nice job of handling us. I did want to provide some feedback on a few people that you can hopefully pass on to the right management person: 1. JR was our instructor that shot with us. We did the qualifying range and had a group of 5 guys and we rented 5 guns. JR was fantastic. Our group was diverse on experience - from a former military special forces to a guy who had never even shot a hand gun before. JR did a great job with us and we had a lot of fun and made us all feel safe and comfortable. If I were he owner of the gun store, JR performed exactly the way I would want everyone to. 2. Elise was our "host". She helped us get set up and get going. She also did a very nice job and helped us deal with the hectic situation. She was incredibly patient and friendly while we worked through how we wanted to do the program and made the wait and stuff much better to deal with. Again, this is exactly how I would have wanted someone to perform if I were her boss. I hope that someone can provide both JR and Elise with some recognition for doing a very nice job and representing The Gun Store quite well. Anyway, like I said, overall it was a tremendous experience and we had a lot of fun and felt it was well worth the money. I anticipate that many of us will be repeat customers in the future. Sadly, The Gun Store has changed. It now feels just like the clubs inside the casinos on The Strip. It has that same ripoff atmosphere. You feel like you are just being used so they can make money. It doesn't feel like a place you can go to blow off steam or have fun anymore. Now it has a vibe that they are out to squeeze as much money as they can out of you. Just like the clubs, you feel like you have to be on guard or you'll leave with no money in your wallet. They attempt to hit you up for $50 before you even enter the building. They have a booth outside that reminds you of the booths on the Strip that sell Timeshares. It just screams you are nothing but a customer to them. I wanted to shoot a handgun and was told I had to choose something more expensive. So I just left. That's horrible. One of the top rules of businees has to be to never turn away business. You should be allowed to shoot a Gun at a place called the Gun Store. They told me to come back tomorrow. I'm not gonna come back when its convenient for them. And I'm not gonna go back to a place now that I know there is chance they won't even let me shoot when I get there. I've decided to go to a different range from now on. The Gun Store's new business strategy is to squeeze as much money as they can off the Tourists that go there. What they are failing to realize is that in the process they are abusing their locals. And the locals, like me, are the ones who have been their most loyal supporters. Until now. read more

The ladies, Sasha and Felicia, were very through in their presentation with great examples and videos of concepts presented. They were more than willing to answer questions or repeat information if needed to do so. This is my second time utilizing the Gun Store for the Concealed Firearm Permit Course and the curriculum they designed for this course was informative and engaging course which far exceeded my expectations from the first time in many ways. I especially liked the afternoon section on basic firearms materials such as gun maintenance, holster, and gun selections since I had forgotten some of the information. Tony D's video about how to clean your gun was great. I really liked his mentioning on how to clean your gun outside, so you do not make your wife exceptionally upset. The ladies are low key but truly knowledgeable which lowers the stress level for the students, at least me. They handled me with respect and talk to me like people not just another person to push through the door. Ketzu was very patient and helped calm my nerves when I went to the range to shoot for qualification. If asked to recommend a place for the Nevada Concealed Firearm Permit or Permit Renewal Course, the Gun Store would be and has been my first choice without any reservations. read more

Not too long ago, this was an actual store that sold guns as the name implies. The retail store is no more and the business is just a tourist gun rental attraction. As a gun rental attraction, there are now much better options. For locals, the only reason to revisit this place is the CCW class and CCW renewals. That used to be the case before Jeremy Seo took over the CCW classes. Jeremy seems friendly enough, but comes off as immature. His teaching style presents like bad stand-up comedy and when the class doesn't laugh at his jokes, he just tells the jokes louder. Jeremy also uses every chance available to tell a "When I was a cop" story. Listen for this key phrase: "Does that make sense to everyone?". It's distracting and his class would be a third shorter if he'd stop repeating that useless phrase. Sorry to see what this store has become. Bob Irwin would be disappointed to see what has become of his work. It's hard to find a nicer guy and business owner. The Gun Store went bankrupt a few years ago. Bob Irwin lost control back in March of 2017 and it's now for sale. Unless they make some great changes, The Gun Store will probably fade away into Las Vegas history. read more

We visited here today (May 7th 2025), and we had the BEST morning with Ketzu. We'd booked in for the Diva and WW2 experiences, and we just had the best time. My Husband has dealt with and fired guns before, whereas I had absolutely zero-experience. I'd never even held a gun before today! Ketzu was absolutely amazing and was the perfect blend of patient, calm, professional. He took the time to talk us through the basics (being from England, we aren't all that familiar with guns), which was really helpful. We had such a laugh also, which really helped to settle my nerves, and he was a fantastic teacher. Nothing was too much trouble and he was so helpful. You can tell he really knows his craft, and we felt really accommodated for. Most importantly: we had SO much fun, and we definitely want to visit again during our next trip. This place also has a complimentary shuttle service available with certain packages, which was really useful to get back to our hotel afterwards. Caveat emptor when dealing with these Guys. I purchased a new 9 mm S&W hand gun. The salesman told me I would get free range time and could buy shells at their indoor range in the back of the store. OK they had advertised no charge for background checks, except the salesman informs me that that promo was pulled. Ok I know he was a salesman and has lip were moving I get it "Caveat emptor" so I purchase the gun. As instructed I go to the range with the sales receipt and wait in line behind 10 tourists renting guns from scantly clad lady's. A large gentleman at the other end of the counter spots me with my guncase in my hand, Identifying me as a local shooter with his own gun he informed me that all their ammo was for rental, what the salesman told me was untrue, I know I know his lip were moving. Moral to the story, Locals stay away from this place !!! their to busy ripping of tourists to be a reputable business for locals. read more

I went in 12/18 in the evening as I happened to be driving by. The other reviews calling the staff rude matches my experience dead on. I found them to be very rude condescending people. When I inquired about just renting a gun for a time instead of $1.00 per bullet (which is very very expensive), they looked at me like I was an idiot that didn't understand what was happening and the pricing system. They then tried to convince me that it was a good deal and I was an idiot for questioning them. I can understand they are expensive (I mean its Vegas), but there was no reason to be mean pricks and make you feel bad (which was the overall feeling when I left the store). If you want to spend the money for a fully auto (the only thing not offered at less than half the price anywhere else in the US), do it in vegas, but at least go to another vegas company who treat their customers with a bit of respect. read more

I visited Las Vegas last weekend and decided to give this place a try. I've never shot a gun before but have always wanted to, so why not do something new in Las Vegas, right? The Gun Store was completely delightful. They offered a shuttle to and from the strip for those who purchase a package online, which was great! The driver was friendly and on time. The service was also a pleasure to experience. Someone was always helping you every step of the way. My instructor, who I unfortunately forgot the name of, was amazing. Being a first time shooter, I was a bit worried. But he made me feel extremely comfortable and was very helpful the entire time. I would definitely recommend this place for first time shooters like myself. Overall, a great environment and worth the money. Ladies, the Ladies Package is a great start. It's been a while since I have been to the store, but when I was a regular patron, I was in about once a month or so, buying ammo, looking over new inventory, and as is the norm, always looking for a good deal on a used firearm. The staff at the Gun Store are very knowledgeable, quick to offer assistance, and not into "high pressure", or pushy sales tactics, which a greatly appreciate. With my valid CCW card, I was able to purchase my new Glock 19 with ease, quickly, and as usual, no hassle, in & out, zip zap ! ! The Gun Stores prices are very competitive, and I especially appreciate the one stop shopping feature. . . whether for actual weapons, ammo, accessories or anything firearm related, The Gus Store is my default go-to shop. If you're looking for a great experience at any level of firearms or related merch, The Gun Store is my recommendation. read more

Avoid this place and check out another place that has similar activities. We got there and they had about twice as many people crammed into the shooting range as they should have. It made it overly loud, crowded, confused and hot. The staff was absolutely abusive. A woman was there with her family. She obviously had never shot before and had trouble. Rather than helping her out, the "Range Master" started screaming and cursing at her at the top of his lungs. This went on for five or ten minutes. He not only cursed her out, but repeated it over and over so that everyone in the place heard it. When her husband objected, the range Nazi cursed him out and threw the entire group out. I would never go back there again. The guy is psychotic. I guess they are only polite to young women with large breasts. read more
