It's been a while since I have been to the store, but when I was a regular patron, I was in about once a month or so, buying ammo, looking over new inventory, and as is the norm, always looking for a good deal on a used firearm. The staff at the Gun Store are very knowledgeable, quick to offer assistance, and not into "high pressure", or pushy sales tactics, which a greatly appreciate. With my valid CCW card, I was able to purchase my new Glock 19 with ease, quickly, and as usual, no hassle, in & out, zip zap ! ! The Gun Stores prices are very competitive, and I especially appreciate the one stop shopping feature. . . whether for actual weapons, ammo, accessories or anything firearm related, The Gus Store is my default go-to shop. Visited this place last Saturday 8/22/25 and wanted to try a few of the old school ww2 guns. Asked the guy working around 2-3pm if my girlfriend could come on the range to watch me and take pictures. Guy said they don't allow pregnant women on the shooting range. I told him she is not pregnant. He stared at me for a few seconds smiling and said, "are you sure?" with a little smart ass grin. Nice little joke, I'm sure it would've got lots of laughs if we were in middle school. Took my money to another range which was nicer, busier, and had a larger selection of guns to rent. Went here for a homie's bach party and it was a BLAST! They have all kinds of different guns laid out on the wall ranging from handguns, machine guns, shotguns, and magnums. They have package deal like the "Zombie" and "WWII" bundle ranging from $150-199+. The staffs accommodated our group and coached some of the first time shooters. It's a struggle these days to find, in abundance, anything related to the sport of shooting much less those with a more serious gun habit like collecting, building or completing. With restrictions on number of customers allowed in the shop at one time, the back order of ammunition, the limited supply of firearms for sale, the limited gun parts and the delays in background checks, you'll be lucky to enjoy the sport at all. But this place is doing their best! Still allowing gun rentals, range shooting and offering classes. There is a strict mask policy and they do monitor number of guests allowed inside lobby at any given time. I did hear them tell several customers best bet for obtaining ammunition was order direct and have delivery to your home, all gun shops are out and having to wait like everyone else. It's taking hours to get through to Carson city to complete the required background checks, due to COVID, it's restricted the number of able people accepting the calls and/or the abundance of people buying therefore the system is overwhelmed. My experience however was great, the staff friendly, helpful and eager to assist. The place is a bit crazy with half the store being empty and being remodel, and then you have the necessary restrictions, but the service is outstanding. read more

Whelp, I could be part of Seal Team 6 if it wasn't for all of the other hard work those dudes do. Or catching return fire, but I was a pretty damn good shot for a suburban Chicago guy. Good mix of people here and safety was paramount, which is nice. Did catch a decently long line to enter and shoot shit, but it was worth it. My personal fav was a sniper rifle.
