I'll start by saying that aesthetically, everything looks amazing and the portions are huge. The menu is interesting. There wasn't SO much that I wanted (a strange amount of Panko-breaded options) but ultimately settled on the Pegasus wrap (which I see now isn't even on the menu on the website but is orderable?). It's essentially a lamb gyro wrap with French fries, onions, and spicy feta sauce. The lamb gyro I felt was a bit lacking in both seasoning and amount. I'll never really support raw onions in a dish, so that was a bummer. But what I think really ruined this wrap for me was the spicy feta sauce. I'm not totally sure the thought process behind this choice, but it doesn't work for this combination of ingredients. And I can handle spicy pretty well but this was really quite spicy. I would have much preferred a normal feta/tzatziki combo. And the French fries in every wrap/sandwich is a choice and kind of overpowered the other ingredients. That being said, I would consider going back for something else on the menu because the prices (especially for the portion) is nice.

Coming in we found this gem to be top notch yet small and accommodating. It was immaculate and everything was in its place and the bar stools were so beautiful. We approached the counter, made our order and sat and waited for our food. The young lady and young man, I forgot their names, they were very cordial and pleasing to talk to. During our interaction we found out that Avli has another location in Bayside NY and this location was opened 2 years ago. When the order was ready, they brought the food out to us. We had the lamb gyro. This a huge meal, a delicious looking masterpiece that was assembled well and I found it very satisfying. This was an all lamb gyro, other places sell mixed lamb and beef. This gyro was very fresh witha full lamb flavor. We tried the orange cake for desert, it was quit delicious and not too sweet, also very satisfying. The Greek restaurants are blossoming in Franklin Square. I most definitely have choices I'm Franklin Square when I want Mediterranean dishes and I'll be back. Inspire more,Yelp more?

The place itself is clean and has a nice, welcoming atmosphere. It's on the smaller side, but they seem to do a lot of takeout, so it stays pretty busy. What stood out just as much as the food was the service. The gentleman who took our order was very friendly, and the young lady working there was also warm and welcoming. That kind of service definitely makes a difference. Overall, a great spot for a quick, tasty meal. I'd definitely come back!

I opted for the lentil soup. They started us off with complimentary pita and tzatziki dipping sauce. The sauce was so yummy and very fresh. I actually took the rest of the leftovers home and used it for a few days in a variety of dishes I made. The soup was okay. My grandma got the lemon and chicken soup and it was very lemony and salty. Our food was taking a bit of time considering we were the only ones in the restaurant, I think the server was distracted by wrapping the utensils for tables. She came to take our finished soups. And the food finally came out, huge portions. My gyro was covered with lettuce cuts but not the freshest lettuce. The server was kind of slow for only have two tables. The ambience was nice. Greek music was playing and the decor was nice.

We ordered a lot and the portions are generous, so we had plenty of leftovers. The staff were kind and the standout dishes for me were their appetizers: the octopus appetizer and the crab cakes. Both were delicious and I highly recommend. I feel like sometimes I find the way restaurants cook octopus lacking, but I really loved the way they did it. Crab cakes were similarly so good. Four stars because some of the entrees didn't wow me as much (e.g., the moussaka, pasticcio platter) and the soups that were sides were solid but nothing I'd go out of the way. Overall, a great option in the area.

This is my go-to spot on Thursday nights and the only night that really matters here! Think Ladies…read moreNight on steroids. Once DJ George gets behind the turntables, the energy stays high all night long. My advice? Make a dinner reservation and arrive early. Around 9 PM, this place transforms from an upscale restaurant into a full-blown party. The vibe is elegant, sexy, and energetic. The lighting is always on point, the crowd comes dressed to impress, and the atmosphere is electric. As for the food, it's consistently good. The Kyma Chips, Crab Cakes, Keftedes, and Branzino are all must-orders. Once the bottles start coming out, expect sparklers flying, napkins in the air, and everyone on their feet. It's definitely a party. Valet parking is available, and one thing I really appreciate is that the owner is always around, making sure guests feel welcome and taken care of. One heads-up: as the night goes on, you'll occasionally run into a few people who let the alcohol go to their heads and forget how to act. Fortunately, the staff does a great job maintaining a fun atmosphere for everyone. Dress to impress, bring your friends, and be prepared for a night that doesn't end until the early morning hours. Thursday nights here are always a good time!

We started with a lunch option, consisting of the Spanakopita (flaky and generously filled with spinach and feta) and a Greek Salad (fresh with lightly dressed vegetables). We also shared a Pita Chicken Gyro, the chicken was well-seasoned, the pita bread was soft and freshly baked, and all of it combined made each bite enjoyable. We couldn't leave without trying dessert, so we ordered the Orange Cake. At first, the texture hit differently; if I can compare it to anything, it would be close to bread pudding - it was moist but not overly wet. After the first bite, we didn't want to stop eating it. The flavors were divine. Our server, Jocelyn was a tremendous help; she was personable, attentive, and thoughtful, considering our needs before we even asked. Delighted to have finally been able to visit this hidden gem. Pleasant environment with great music softly playing in the background. I highly recommend it, and we can't wait to return!

I went with my plus one, and from the moment we walked in, the experience was great. The place is very clean, not very big, but super comfortable with a nice traditional Greek vibe. We were greeted and seated by one of the owners (one of the brothers), which made it feel even more welcoming. Our waitress was friendly, professional, and checked on us several times, which I always appreciate without it feeling overdone. I ordered the gyro, and it was absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. But the real standout? Dessert. It was honestly out of this world. The owner mentioned it's his mother's recipe, "made with love," and you can truly taste that in every bite. I'm still thinking about it and would go back just for that alone. Great location, great staff, and an overall really enjoyable experience. Definitely a spot I'll be returning to!

Wow. What a find…read more First of all, the decor is beautiful: open spaces, super clean with plenty of seating. Service is smart and friendly. Everything we ordered was exceptional. We shared the cold dip sampler (taramasalata, babaganoush, tzatziki) and crispy eggplant and zucchini chips. Highly recommend both...the picky eater at the table (who literally eats no vegetables) couldn't stop eating the chips. Rave reviews of the Alaskan halibut and the pork chop. I had the Rocca avocado salad with grilled chicken. Again-excellent! Dessert? Chocolate mousse and custard - I tasted both and loved each option. The mousse was somehow rich, dark...yet "light" at the same time. The custard was warm and had a thin layer of phyllo dough with a drizzle of honey sauce. We arrived when it wasn't too busy on a week night; I'd recommend reservations on weekends. I'll definitely be back!

The cocktail drinks took a long time to arrive, and they arrived after the appetizers--and were incorrect, so we had to send them back. The main dishes took another hour to be served. I have pictures with timestamps showing the delay, with over an hour between the appetizers and the main courses. During this time, we asked for extra bread and clarification, but the servers seemed unsure and kept pointing at each other, which was frustrating. Later, a manager explained that the delay was due to our ordering moussaka, but if the kitchen was overwhelmed, they could have let us know. We're reasonable guests, but their explanations felt lacking. Overall, the service was quite poor. To make matters worse, they added a 20% gratuity charge--something we usually tip pretty well even though service is too bad to tip. But I don't expect to tip 20% to this horrible service. We really enjoy the food here, but unfortunately, due to the experience, we don't think we'll be returning.
